COTA – The Final Showdown

New York – The Trans Am presented by Pirelli’s final showdown of 2021 will take place this coming weekend at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), the home of the United States Grand Prix.

With 51 cars pre-entered in TA2 the Trans Am series looks set to break the all-time entry record for the second time this season. F.A.S.T. Auto Racing has two cars entered, Adrian Wlostowski’s No. 3 Hawk Performance, Howe Racing Enterprises, Camaro and Doug Winston’s No. 98, D&M Electrical Contracting Inc., Camaro.

Team Owner Adrian Wlostowski said, “It’s hard to believe that we are heading into the last race of the season. The whole team is also psyched about being part of Trans Am history with this huge 51-car field.”

Rolling into Austin, Wlostowski sits fifth in the championship and a mere nine points ahead of sixth.

“To nail down fifth in the championship it’s important for us to have a good finish with Austin – but I feel good going into the weekend,” Wlostowski said. “I have a lot of seat time at COTA and we are becoming more confident with our setups. While I’ve never raced a TA2 car here, the car gets better and better every race, and my crew never stops.

“COTA is an amazing facility and definitely a driver’s track. The number of braking zones are as many, if not more, than any circuit on the tour, and I’m confident our Hawk Performance brake pads give us an advantage because I can go deeper into the braking zones."

A key partner with F.A.S.T. Auto Racing is Howe Racing Enterprises. In their first season in TA2 it has been
crucial to their program and success to have Howe in their corner.

“We’ve learned a lot this season and we’ve had excellent support from Chaz and his team at Howe. After Watkins Glen, they jumped in and helped us turn the car around in time for VIR. Every race they’ve been there for us and their other teams having the spares and the technical support we all need. We could not have done this without their help, and we are so appreciative of everything they have done for my team.” Winston said, “It’s always super exciting racing at COTA. It’s probably the finest race facility in North America. I hoping the fans turn out in mass for the Speed Tour weekend. NASCAR had to be cool but we’re going to treat them to the roar of 50 or more roaring V-8s heading into turn one, and I have no doubt it’s going to be wild!

“There is some serious depth throughout the field,” Winston continued. “There are so many good teams and drivers entered I’m sure the race will be a standout for years to come. With so many cars there will be great battles not only in front, but throughout the pack and I’m excited to be a part of the action! I’m looking forward to a good race as a lot of my season has been plagued with back luck that resulted in too many early retirements. The team is strong, Adrian has been doing fantastic and I’d love to contribute to the team’s success – after all we’re F.A.S.T. Racing!”
