Crews Wins for the Third Year in a Row at Road America, This Time in TA

After winning a series-leading eighth victory in the TA2 class last week at Mid-Ohio since joining the series in 2022, Brent Crews finally got the chance to compete in the TA class in Road America, the site of his first win with Trans Am. In doing so, he became the youngest TA winner in history.

 Starting in P8 due to engine problems during qualifying, Brent swiftly moved up to third place and set his sights on the leaders. On lap 3, contact between the front-runners allowed Brent to seize second place, where he ultimately crossed the line. 

 Crews remarked, “The TA was a blast to drive, and this is my favorite track. Our weekend was definitely up and down. We chased a fuel system problem through the first two practice sessions, but we were fast right out of the gate. I didn’t get to test the car before we arrived, so to come out with the win is neat. This whole deal came together at the very last minute after my win at Mid-Ohio last week, but I felt comfortable right away. I can’t thank Pancho and his team enough for rebuilding this thing Saturday after the engine broke in qualifying. Once we got to second, I focused on saving fuel and tires, knowing we might not make it to the end without a caution, and we were right – I ran out on the last lap.”

 Following the post-race review by race control and technical inspection, the series published the official results, declaring Brent the winner.
