Been using it for a year now. Absolutely stunning picture quality especially in a dim room. I use it on white screen. Consider ALR screen if you have overhead lights. Remote is not backlit, lacks mute button & died after a few months but replaced under warranty. The seller in UAE is helpful. Netflix does not work unless you use google tv / fire tv which is anyway more useful due to better remote. Sound is good for most tv/movies but lacks deep base. I use Bluetooth speakers or headphones when I want to watch something with great original sound like Topgun or Oppenheimer.

I normally don’t post product reviews, but the Formovie was such a game changer for me in terms of viewing experience that I had to leave one. Not only is the picture quality off the charts, even the sound of the built-in speakers is completely immersive and satisfying as a home theatre experience. Although I had already heard so many good things about these before purchasing, I was blown away well beyond what my expectations were. The brightness is remarkable, especially considering my room has light coming into it in the daytime and is by no means a dedicated theatre room. Everything I watch is vibrant and nuanced with detail that just pops in ways I’ve never noticed before with any other setup. This is now my primary and only means of watching movies and tv series and is the main fixture of my living room. On top of all I already knew before getting this projector, the price point is what drew me in and sealed the deal for me. Outstanding value for a product of this level.

Paired with a VividStorm S Pro motorised tension rising screen. I’m extremely happy with the quality and ease of use. Basically now have a discreet, but proper home cinema. Dolby vision and good B&W sound built in (although I do use external amp and speakers). Perfect.

Image quality is excellent, have no complaints about that. Connected to 5.1 home theatre with AV receiver, but the built in audio is quite good for the limited times I used it. After about 6 months of use, the android tv platform that it's based off became laggy - still manageable however and I didn't try a factory reset to see if it got better (see below ). For gaming, latency is fine, but would not recommend if your playing competitively.

Main issues are with build quality and customer service which may not be an issue if living in the eastern hemisphere. First projector I receive, one of the HDMI ports was broken - was still within return/exchange period so it was easily exchanged through the shipper for a new unit. After about 4 months of use, a dead pixel appeared. Projector still under warranty, had to email formovie as there's no number I could call. They are based in Hong Kong so after about a week of back and forth due to time differences, it was sent mid March. It's now 6 weeks later and repairs haven't been started. I received no updates on the status until I started emailing asking and for the first 2 weeks of emailing, I was ignored. I'm in North America, I don't think this would be as much an issue if I was in the same continent. If I could go back, I would buy from a manufacturer that has repair capabilities in my continent. Keep your original box, makes shipping much easier. Fortunately, they covered all shipping costs.

After doing lot of research finally decided to buy this projector. Generally we see projectors from other reputed brands like epson, LG, samsung etc. sold in electronic stores. You see this projector being sold there. But if you do some research, you will get to know about this projector being talked about mostly on reddit and other forums and on YouTube.

Pros
The quality of picture is amazing(especially when you watch 4k and 8k content). I was initially looking for an oled tv, but since my room bigger decided to go with the projector and picture quality wise it came very close to meeting my expectations.

The sounds of this projector is crisp. For this price range the projector is worth the money.

Cons
The app is bit slow and sluggish. The remote could have been better. The remote doesn't come with batteries, so make sure you have couple of AAA batteries. If your room has ambient light, you may need to spend some money buying ALR screen.
