Evidence for the decay $ψ(3770)\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$ is observed with a significance of 4.5$σ$ by analyzing the measured cross sections together with earlier BESIII results. For the other charmonium(-like) states $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$, $Y(4230)$, $Y(4360)$, $ψ(4415)$, and $Y(4660)$, no significant signal of their decay to $Ξ^-\bar Ξ^+$ is found. For these states, upper limits of the products of the branching fraction and the electronic partial width at the 90% confidence level are provided.

The investigation of the similarity between artists and music is crucial in music retrieval and recommendation, and addressing the challenge of the long-tail phenomenon is increasingly important. This paper proposes a Long-Tail Friendly Representation Framework (LTFRF) that utilizes neural networks to model the similarity relationship. Our approach integrates music, user, metadata, and relationship data into a unified metric learning framework, and employs a meta-consistency relationship as a regular term to introduce the Multi-Relationship Loss. Compared to the Graph Neural Network (GNN), our proposed framework improves the representation performance in long-tail scenarios, which are characterized by sparse relationships between artists and music. We conduct experiments and analysis on the AllMusic dataset, and the results demonstrate that our framework provides a favorable generalization of artist and music representation. Specifically, on similar artist/music recommendation tasks, the LTFRF outperforms the baseline by 9.69%/19.42% in Hit Ratio@10, and in long-tail cases, the framework achieves 11.05%/14.14% higher than the baseline in Consistent@10.

One of the fundamental goals of particle physics is to gain microscopic understanding of the strong interaction. Electromagnetic form factors quantify the structure of hadrons in terms of charge and magnetization distributions. While the nucleon structure has been investigated extensively, data on hyperons is still scarce. It has recently been demonstrated that electron-positron annihilations into hyperon-antihyperon pairs provide a powerful tools to investigate their inner structure. We present a novel method useful for hyperon-antihyperon pairs of different types which exploits the cross section enhancement due to the vacuum polarization effect at the $J/ψ$ resonance. Using the 10 billion $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, this allows a thorough determination of the hyperon structure . The result is essentially a precise snapshot of a $\barΛΣ^0$~($Λ\barΣ^0$) pair in the making, encoded in the form factor ratio and the phase. Their values are measured to be $R = 0.860\pm0.029({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.})$, $ΔΦ_1=(1.011\pm0.094({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.}))~\rm rad$ for $\barΛΣ^0$ and $ΔΦ_2=(2.128\pm0.094({\rm stat.})\pm0.010({\rm syst.}))~\rm rad$ for $Λ\barΣ^0$, respectively. Furthermore, charge-parity (CP) breaking is investigated for the first time in this reaction and found to be consistent with CP symmetry.

Motion planning is the soul of robot decision making. Classical planning algorithms like graph search and reaction-based algorithms face challenges in cases of dense and dynamic obstacles. Deep learning algorithms generate suboptimal one-step predictions that cause many collisions. Reinforcement learning algorithms generate optimal or near-optimal time-sequential predictions. However, they suffer from slow convergence, suboptimal converged results, and overfittings. This paper introduces a hybrid algorithm for robotic motion planning: long short-term memory (LSTM) pooling and skip connection for attention-based discrete soft actor critic (LSA-DSAC). First, graph network (relational graph) and attention network (attention weight) interpret the environmental state for the learning of the discrete soft actor critic algorithm. The expressive power of attention network outperforms that of graph in our task by difference analysis of these two representation methods. However, attention based DSAC faces the overfitting problem in training. Second, the skip connection method is integrated to attention based DSAC to mitigate overfitting and improve convergence speed. Third, LSTM pooling is taken to replace the sum operator of attention weigh and eliminate overfitting by slightly sacrificing convergence speed at early-stage training. Experiments show that LSA-DSAC outperforms the state-of-the-art in training and most evaluations. The physical robot is also implemented and tested in the real world.

The phase shift between $S$- and $P$-wave amplitudes has two solutions, which are $δ_{p}-δ_{s}=-1.55\pm0.25({\rm stat.})\pm0.05({\rm syst.})~\text{rad}$ or $1.59\pm0.25({\rm stat.})\pm0.05({\rm syst.})~\text{rad}$.

Skin cancer is a frequently occurring cancer in the human population, and it is very important to be able to diagnose malignant tumors in the body early. Lesion segmentation is crucial for monitoring the morphological changes of skin lesions, extracting features to localize and identify diseases to assist doctors in early diagnosis. Manual de-segmentation of dermoscopic images is error-prone and time-consuming, thus there is a pressing demand for precise and automated segmentation algorithms. Inspired by advanced mechanisms such as U-Net, DenseNet, Separable Convolution, Channel Attention, and Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (ASPP), we propose a novel network called Channel Attention Separable Convolution Network (CASCN) for skin lesions segmentation. The proposed CASCN is evaluated on the PH2 dataset with limited images. Without excessive pre-/post-processing of images, CASCN achieves state-of-the-art performance on the PH2 dataset with Dice similarity coefficient of 0.9461 and accuracy of 0.9645.

Face-to-face communication is a common scenario including roles of speakers and listeners. Most existing research methods focus on producing speaker videos, while the generation of listener heads remains largely overlooked. Responsive listening head generation is an important task that aims to model face-to-face communication scenarios by generating a listener head video given a speaker video and a listener head image. An ideal generated responsive listening video should respond to the speaker with attitude or viewpoint expressing while maintaining diversity in interaction patterns and accuracy in listener identity information. To achieve this goal, we propose the \textbf{M}ulti-\textbf{F}aceted \textbf{R}esponsive Listening Head Generation Network (MFR-Net). Specifically, MFR-Net employs the probabilistic denoising diffusion model to predict diverse head pose and expression features. In order to perform multi-faceted response to the speaker video, while maintaining accurate listener identity preservation, we design the Feature Aggregation Module to boost listener identity features and fuse them with other speaker-related features. Finally, a renderer finetuned with identity consistency loss produces the final listening head videos. Our extensive experiments demonstrate that MFR-Net not only achieves multi-faceted responses in diversity and speaker identity information but also in attitude and viewpoint expression.

Music editing primarily entails the modification of instrument tracks or remixing in the whole, which offers a novel reinterpretation of the original piece through a series of operations. These music processing methods hold immense potential across various applications but demand substantial expertise. Prior methodologies, although effective for image and audio modifications, falter when directly applied to music. This is attributed to music's distinctive data nature, where such methods can inadvertently compromise the intrinsic harmony and coherence of music. In this paper, we develop InstructME, an Instruction guided Music Editing and remixing framework based on latent diffusion models. Our framework fortifies the U-Net with multi-scale aggregation in order to maintain consistency before and after editing. In addition, we introduce chord progression matrix as condition information and incorporate it in the semantic space to improve melodic harmony while editing. For accommodating extended musical pieces, InstructME employs a chunk transformer, enabling it to discern long-term temporal dependencies within music sequences. We tested InstructME in instrument-editing, remixing, and multi-round editing. Both subjective and objective evaluations indicate that our proposed method significantly surpasses preceding systems in music quality, text relevance and harmony. The coupling of excited states and ionic dynamics is the basic and challenging point for the materials response at extreme conditions. In laboratory, the intense laser produces transient nature and complexity with highly nonequilibrium states, making it extremely difficult and interesting for both experimental measurements and theoretical methods. With the inclusion of laser-excited states, we extended ab initio method into the direct simulations of whole laser-driven microscopic dynamics from solid to liquid. We constructed the framework of combining the electron-temperaturedependent deep neural network potential energy surface with hybrid atomistic-continuum approach, controlling non-adiabatic energy exchange and atomistic dynamics, which enables consistent interpretation of experimental data. By large scale ab inito simulations, we demonstrate that the nonthermal effects introduced by hot electrons play a dominant role in modulating the lattice dynamics, thermodynamic pathway, and structural transformation. We highlight that the present work provides a path to realistic computational studies of laser-driven processes, thus bridging the gap between experiments and simulations.

The singlet-octet pseudoscalar mixing angle $θ_P$ is determined to be $θ_P = -(22.11 \pm0.26)^\circ$ or $-(19.34 \pm 0.34)^\circ$ with two different phenomenological models.

As one of the key techniques to realize semantic communications, end-to-end optimized neural joint source-channel coding (JSCC) has made great progress over the past few years. A general trend in many recent works pushing the model adaptability or the application diversity of neural JSCC is based on the convolutional neural network (CNN) backbone, whose model capacity is yet limited, inherently leading to inferior system coding gain against traditional coded transmission systems. In this paper, we establish a new neural JSCC backbone that can also adapt flexibly to diverse channel conditions and transmission rates within a single model, our open-source project aims to promote the research in this field. Specifically, we show that with elaborate design, neural JSCC codec built on the emerging Swin Transformer backbone achieves superior performance than conventional neural JSCC codecs built upon CNN, while also requiring lower end-to-end processing latency. Paired with two spatial modulation modules that scale latent representations based on the channel state information and target transmission rate, our baseline SwinJSCC can further upgrade to a versatile version, which increases its capability to adapt to diverse channel conditions and rate configurations. Extensive experimental results show that our SwinJSCC achieves better or comparable performance versus the state-of-the-art engineered BPG + 5G LDPC coded transmission system with much faster end-to-end coding speed, especially for high-resolution images, in which case traditional CNN-based JSCC yet falls behind due to its limited model capacity.

Robots play a critical role as the physical agent of human operators in exploring the ocean. However, it remains challenging to grasp objects reliably while fully submerging under a highly pressurized aquatic environment with little visible light, mainly due to the fluidic interference on the tactile mechanics between the finger and object surfaces. This study investigates the transferability of grasping knowledge from on-land to underwater via a vision-based soft robotic finger that learns 6D forces and torques (FT) using a Supervised Variational Autoencoder (SVAE). A high-framerate camera captures the whole-body deformations while a soft robotic finger interacts with physical objects on-land and underwater. Results show that the trained SVAE model learned a series of latent representations of the soft mechanics transferrable from land to water, presenting a superior adaptation to the changing environments against commercial FT sensors. Soft, delicate, and reactive grasping enabled by tactile intelligence enhances the gripper's underwater interaction with improved reliability and robustness at a much-reduced cost, paving the path for learning-based intelligent grasping to support fundamental scientific discoveries in environmental and ocean research.

Visual feedback plays a crucial role in the process of amputation patients completing grasping in the field of prosthesis control. However, for blind and visually impaired (BVI) amputees, the loss of both visual and grasping abilities makes the "easy" reach-and-grasp task a feasible challenge. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-sensory prosthesis system helping BVI amputees with sensing, navigation and grasp operations. It combines modules of voice interaction, environmental perception, grasp guidance, collaborative control, and auditory/tactile feedback. In particular, the voice interaction module receives user instructions and invokes other functional modules according to the instructions. The environmental perception and grasp guidance module obtains environmental information through computer vision, and feedbacks the information to the user through auditory feedback modules (voice prompts and spatial sound sources) and tactile feedback modules (vibration stimulation). The prosthesis collaborative control module obtains the context information of the grasp guidance process and completes the collaborative control of grasp gestures and wrist angles of prosthesis in conjunction with the user's control intention in order to achieve stable grasp of various objects. This paper details a prototyping design (named viia-hand) and presents its preliminary experimental verification on healthy subjects completing specific reach-and-grasp tasks. Our results showed that, with the help of our new design, the subjects were able to achieve a precise reach and reliable grasp of the target objects in a relatively cluttered environment. Additionally, the system is extremely user-friendly, as users can quickly adapt to it with minimal training.

The Born cross-section lineshape is described better by a shape with a plateau near the threshold than by a pQCD motivated functional form.

We present the All-Seeing (AS) project: a large-scale data and model for recognizing and understanding everything in the open world. Using a scalable data engine that incorporates human feedback and efficient models in the loop, we create a new dataset (AS-1B) with over 1 billion regions annotated with semantic tags, question-answering pairs, and detailed captions. It covers a wide range of 3.5 million common and rare concepts in the real world, and has 132.2 billion tokens that describe the concepts and their attributes. Leveraging this new dataset, we develop the All-Seeing model (ASM), a unified framework for panoptic visual recognition and understanding. The model is trained with open-ended language prompts and locations, which allows it to generalize to various vision and language tasks with remarkable zero-shot performance, including region-text retrieval, region recognition, captioning, and question-answering. We hope that this project can serve as a foundation for vision-language artificial general intelligence research. Models and the dataset shall be released at https://github.com/OpenGVLab/All-Seeing, and demo can be seen at https://huggingface.co/spaces/OpenGVLab/all-seeing.

Based on data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the process $e^{+}e^{-} \to Σ^{+}\barΣ^{-}$ is studied at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ = 2.3960, 2.6454, and 2.9000 GeV. Using a fully differential angular description of the final state particles, both the relative magnitude and phase information of the $Σ^{+}$ electromagnetic form factors in the timelike region are extracted. The relative phase between the electric and magnetic form factors is determined to be $\sinΔΦ$ = -0.67~$\pm$~0.29~(stat)~$\pm$~0.18~(syst) at $\sqrt{s}$ = 2.3960 GeV, $ΔΦ$ = 55$^{\circ}$~$\pm$~19$^{\circ}$~(stat) $\pm$~14$^{\circ}$~(syst) at $\sqrt{s}$ = 2.6454 GeV, and 78$^{\circ}$~$\pm$~22$^{\circ}$~(stat) $\pm$~9$^{\circ}$~(syst) at $\sqrt{s}$ = 2.9000 GeV. For the first time, the phase of the hyperon electromagnetic form factors is explored in a wide range of four-momentum transfer. The evolution of the phase along with four-momentum transfer is an important input for understanding its asymptotic behavior and the dynamics of baryons.

In order to characterize in detail the charge density wave (CDW) transition of 1$T$-VSe$_2$, its electronic structure and lattice dynamics are comprehensively studied by means of x-ray diffraction, angle resolved photoemission (ARPES), diffuse and inelastic x-ray scattering (IXS), and state-of-the-art first principles density functional theory calculations. Resonant elastic x-ray scattering (REXS) does not show any resonant enhancement at either V or Se K-edges, indicating that the CDW peak describes a purely structural modulation of the electronic ordering. ARPES identifies (i) a pseudogap at T$>$T$_{CDW}$, which leads to a depletion of the density of states in the $ML-M'L'$ plane at T$<$T$_{CDW}$, and (ii) anomalies in the electronic dispersion reflecting a sizable impact of phonons on it. A diffuse scattering precursor, characteristic of soft phonons, is observed at room temperature (RT) and leads to the full collapse of the low-energy phonon ($ω_1$) with propagation vector (0.25 0 -0.3) r.l.u. We show that the frequency and linewidth of this mode are anisotropic in momentum space, reflecting the momentum dependence of the electron-phonon interaction (EPI), hence demonstrating that the origin of the CDW is, to a much larger extent, due to the momentum dependence EPI with a small contribution from nesting. The pressure dependence of the $ω_1$ soft mode remains nearly constant up to 13 GPa at RT, with only a modest softening before the transition to the high-pressure monoclinic $C2/m$ phase. The wide set of experimental data are well captured by our state-of-the art first-principles anharmonic calculations with the inclusion of van der Waals (vdW) corrections in the exchange-correlation functional. The description of the electronics and dynamics of VSe$_2$ reported here adds important pieces of information to the understanding of the electronic modulations of TMDs.

Furthermore, an $e^+e^-$ invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of $J/ψ\to e^+ e^-η(1405)$ is presented for the first time. The obtained result provides input for different theoretical models, and is valuable for the improved understanding the intrinsic structure of the $η(1405)$ meson.

As AI-generated content (AIGC) thrives, deepfakes have expanded from single-modality falsification to cross-modal fake content creation, where either audio or visual components can be manipulated. While using two unimodal detectors can detect audio-visual deepfakes, cross-modal forgery clues could be overlooked. Existing multimodal deepfake detection methods typically establish correspondence between the audio and visual modalities for binary real/fake classification, and require the co-occurrence of both modalities. However, in real-world multi-modal applications, missing modality scenarios may occur where either modality is unavailable. In such cases, audio-visual detection methods are less practical than two independent unimodal methods. Consequently, the detector can not always obtain the number or type of manipulated modalities beforehand, necessitating a fake-modality-agnostic audio-visual detector. In this work, we introduce a comprehensive framework that is agnostic to fake modalities, which facilitates the identification of multimodal deepfakes and handles situations with missing modalities, regardless of the manipulations embedded in audio, video, or even cross-modal forms. To enhance the modeling of cross-modal forgery clues, we employ audio-visual speech recognition (AVSR) as a preliminary task. This efficiently extracts speech correlations across modalities, a feature challenging for deepfakes to replicate. Additionally, we propose a dual-label detection approach that follows the structure of AVSR to support the independent detection of each modality. Extensive experiments on three audio-visual datasets show that our scheme outperforms state-of-the-art detection methods with promising performance on modality-agnostic audio/video deepfakes.

The branching fractions of $D_s^+ \to ημ^+ν_μ$ and $D_s^+ \to η^\primeμ^+ν_μ$ are determined to be $(2.235\pm0.051_{\rm stat}\pm0.052_{\rm syst})\%$ and $(0.801\pm0.055_{\rm stat}\pm0.028_{\rm syst})\%$, respectively, with precision improved by factors of 6.0 and 6.6 compared to the previous best measurements. Combined with the results for the decays $D_s^+ \to ηe^+ν_e$ and $D_s^+ \to η^\prime e^+ν_e$, the ratios of the decay widths are examined both inclusively and in several $\ell^+ν_\ell$ four-momentum transfer ranges. No evidence for lepton flavor universality violation is found within the current statistics. The products of the hadronic form factors $f_{+,0}^{η^{(\prime)}}(0)$ and the $c\to s$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ are determined. The results based on the two-parameter series expansion are $f^η_{+,0}(0)|V_{cs}| = 0.452\pm0.010_{\rm stat}\pm0.007_{\rm syst}$ and $f^{η^{\prime}}_{+,0}(0)|V_{cs}| = 0.504\pm0.037_{\rm stat}\pm0.012_{\rm syst}$, which help to constrain present models on $f_{+,0}^{η^{(\prime)}}(0)$. The forward-backward asymmetries are determined to be $\langle A_{\rm FB}^η\rangle=-0.059\pm0.031_{\rm stat}\pm0.005_{\rm syst}$ and $\langle A_{\rm FB}^{η^\prime}\rangle=-0.064\pm0.079_{\rm stat}\pm0.006_{\rm syst}$ for the first time, which are consistent with the theoretical calculation.

This result is in agreement with the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model prediction of $n=3.5\pm 0.9$. In addition, the charmless decay $ψ(3770)\toφη'$ is searched for by fitting the measured cross sections, yet no significant signal is observed. The upper limit of ${\cal B}(ψ(3770)\toφη')$ at the 90\% confidence level is determined to be $2.3\times 10^{-5}$.

We report the measurement of the inclusive cross sections for $e^+e^-$$\rightarrow$nOCH (where nOCH denotes non-open charm hadrons) with improved precision at center-of-mass (c.m.) energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV. We observe three resonances: $\mathcal R(3760)$, $\mathcal R(3780)$, and $\mathcal R(3810)$ with significances of $8.1σ$, $13.7σ$, and $8.8σ$, respectively. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ state is observed for the first time, while the $\mathcal R(3760)$ and $\mathcal R(3780)$ states are observed for the first time in the nOCH cross sections. Two sets of resonance parameters describe the energy-dependent line shape of the cross sections well. In set I [set II], the $\mathcal R(3810)$ state has mass $(3805.7 \pm 1.1 \pm 2.7)$ [$(3805.7 \pm 1.1 \pm 2.7)$] MeV/$c^2$, total width $(11.6 \pm 2.9 \pm 1.9)$ [$(11.5 \pm 2.8 \pm 1.9)$] MeV, and an electronic width multiplied by the nOCH decay branching fraction of $(10.9\pm 3.8\pm 2.5)$ [$(11.0\pm 3.4\pm 2.5)$] eV. In addition, we measure the branching fractions ${\mathcal B}[{\mathcal R}(3760)$$\rightarrow$nOCH$]=(25.2 \pm 16.1 \pm 30.4)\% [(6.4 \pm 4.8 \pm 7.7)\%]$ and ${\mathcal B}[\mathcal R(3780)$$\rightarrow$nOCH$]=(12.3 \pm 6.6 \pm 8.3)\% [(10.4 \pm 4.8 \pm 7.0)\%]$ for the first time. The $\mathcal R(3760)$ state can be interpreted as an open-charm (OC) molecular state, but containing a simple four-quark state component. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ state can be interpreted as a hadrocharmonium state.

Purpose: To develop and evaluate a cardiovascular magnetic resonance sequence (MyoFold) for rapid myocardial tissue and movement characterization. Method: MyoFold sequentially performs joint T1/T2 mapping and cine for one left-ventricle slice within a breathing-holding of 12 heartbeats. MyoFold uses balanced Steady-State-Free-Precession (bSSFP) with 2-fold acceleration for data readout and adopts an electrocardiogram (ECG) to synchronize the cardiac cycle. MyoFold first acquires six single-shot inversion-recovery images at the diastole of the first six heartbeats. For joint T1/T2 mapping, T2 preparation (T2-prep) adds different T2 weightings to the last three images. On the remaining six heartbeats, segmented bSSFP is continuously performed for each cardiac phase for cine. We build a neural network and trained it using the numerical simulation of MyoFold for T1 and T2 calculations. MyoFold was validated through phantom and in-vivo experiments and compared to MOLLI, SASHA, T2-prep bSSFP, and convention cine. Results: MyoFold phantom T1 had a 10% overestimation while MyoFold T2 had high accuracy. MyoFold in-vivo T1 had comparable accuracy to that of SASHA and precision to that of MOLLI. MyoFold had good agreement with T2-prep bSSFP in myocardium T2 measurement. There was no difference in the myocardium thickness measurement between the MyoFold cine and convention cine. Conclusion: MyoFold can simultaneously quantify myocardial tissue and movement, with accuracy and precision comparable to dedicated sequences, saving three-fold scan time.

We study the process $e^{+}e^{-}\toΛ_{c}^{+}\barΛ_c^{-}$ at twelve center-of-mass energies from $4.6119$ to $4.9509~\mathrm{GeV}$ using data samples collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross sections and effective form factors ($|G_{\mathrm{eff}}|$) are determined with unprecedented precision after combining the single and double-tag methods based on the decay process $Λ_{c}^{+}\to pK^{-}π^{+}$. Flat cross sections around $4.63~\mathrm{GeV}$ are obtained and no indication of the resonant structure $Y(4630)$, as reported by Belle, is found. In addition, no oscillatory behavior is discerned in the $|G_{\mathrm{eff}}|$ energy-dependence of $Λ_{c}^{+}$, in contrast to what is seen for the proton and neutron cases. Analyzing the cross section together with the polar-angle distribution of the $Λ_{c}^{+}$ baryon at each energy point, the moduli of electric and magnetic form factors ($|G_{E}|$ and $|G_{M}|$) are extracted and separated. For the first time, the energy-dependence of the form factor ratio $|G_{E}/G_{M}|$ is observed, which can be well described by an oscillatory function.

Curved-sided hexagrams with multiple equilibrium states have great potential in engineering applications such as foldable architectures, deployable aerospace structures, and shape-morphing soft robots. In Part I, the classical stability criterion based on energy variation was used to study the elastic stability of the curved-sided hexagram and identify the natural curvature range for stability of each state for circular and rectangular rod cross-sections. Here, we combine a multi-segment Kirchhoff rod model, finite element simulations, and experiments to investigate the transitions between four basic equilibrium states of the curved-sided hexagram. The four equilibrium states, namely the star hexagram, the daisy hexagram, the 3-loop line, and the 3-loop "8", carry uniform bending moments in their initial states, and the magnitudes of these moments depend on the natural curvatures and their initial curvatures. Transitions between these equilibrium states are triggered by applying bending loads at their corners or edges. It is found that transitions between the stable equilibrium states of the curved-sided hexagram are influenced by both the natural curvature and the loading position. Within a specific natural curvature range, the star hexagram, the daisy hexagram, and the 3-loop "8" can transform among one another by bending at different positions. Based on these findings, we identify the natural curvature range and loading conditions to achieve transition among these three equilibrium states plus a folded 3-loop line state for one specific ring having a rectangular cross-section. The results obtained in this part also validate the elastic stability range of the four equilibrium states of the curved-sided hexagram in Part I. We envision that the present work could provide a new perspective for the design of multi-functional deployable and foldable structures.

The stability of the multiple equilibrium states of a hexagram ring with six curved sides is investigated. Each of the six segments is a rod having the same length and uniform natural curvature. These rods are bent uniformly in the plane of the hexagram into equal arcs of 120deg or 240deg and joined at a cusp where their ends meet to form a 1-loop planar ring. The 1-loop rings formed from 120deg or 240deg arcs are inversions of one another and they, in turn, can be folded into a 3-loop straight line configuration or a 3-loop ring with each loop in an "8" shape. Each of these four equilibrium states has a uniform bending moment. Two additional intriguing planar shapes, 6-circle hexagrams, with equilibrium states that are also uniform bending, are identified and analyzed for stability. Stability is lost when the natural curvature falls outside the upper and lower limits in the form of a bifurcation mode involving coupled out-of-plane deflection and torsion of the rod segments. Conditions for stability, or lack thereof, depend on the geometry of the rod cross-section as well as its natural curvature. Rods with circular and rectangular cross-sections will be analyzed using a specialized form of Kirchhoff rod theory, and properties will be detailed such that all four of the states of interest are mutually stable. Experimental demonstrations of the various states and their stability are presented. Part II presents numerical simulations of transitions between states using both rod theory and a three-dimensional finite element formulation, includes confirmation of the stability limits established in Part I, and presents additional experimental demonstrations and verifications.

Kagome lattices have an inherent two-dimensional nature. Despite previous realizations in the monolayer limit, their abilities to drive emergent electronic states such as correlated insulators have remained unobserved. Here, we report the experimental realization of a new structural phase of monolayer Mo33Te56, characterized by its virtually global uniformity as a mirror-twin boundary loop superlattice embedded in an H-MoTe2 monolayer. Through a combination of scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) and theoretical calculations, we unveil a kagome geometry along with multiple associated sets of kagome flat bands. Crucially, the partial filling of these kagome bands induces ferromagnetism as revealed by spin-polarized STM, and leads to a correlated insulating state exhibiting a hard gap as large as 15 meV. Our findings represent a major advance in kagome materials, offering a framework with clearer band structures and more intrinsic two-dimensional properties for exploring flat-band physics.

The absolute branching fraction is measured as ${\mathcal B}(D^+_s\to φμ^+ν_μ) = (2.25\pm 0.09 \pm 0.07) \times10^{-2}$, the most precise measurement to date. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^+_s\to φe^+ν_e)$, the ratio of the branching fractions obtained is$\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^+_s\to φμ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^+_s\to φe^+ν_e)} = 0.94\pm0.08$, in agreement with lepton universality. By performing a partial wave analysis, the hadronic form factor ratios at $q^{2}=0$ are extracted, finding $r_{V}=\frac{V(0)}{A_{1}(0)}=1.58\pm0.17\pm0.02$ and $r_{2}=\frac{A_{2}(0)}{A_{1}(0)}=0.71\pm0.14\pm0.02$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. No significant $S$-wave contribution from $f_0(980)\to K^+K^-$ is found. The upper limit $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to f_0(980)μ^{+}ν_μ) \cdot{\mathcal B}(f_0(980)\to K^+K^-) < 5.45 \times 10^{-4}$ is set at 90\% confidence level.

While recent advancements in vision-language models have had a transformative impact on multi-modal comprehension, the extent to which these models possess the ability to comprehend generated images remains uncertain. Synthetic images, in comparison to real data, encompass a higher level of diversity in terms of both content and style, thereby presenting significant challenges for the models to fully grasp. In light of this challenge, we introduce a comprehensive dataset, referred to as JourneyDB, that caters to the domain of generative images within the context of multi-modal visual understanding. Our meticulously curated dataset comprises 4 million distinct and high-quality generated images, each paired with the corresponding text prompts that were employed in their creation. Furthermore, we additionally introduce an external subset with results of another 22 text-to-image generative models, which makes JourneyDB a comprehensive benchmark for evaluating the comprehension of generated images. On our dataset, we have devised four benchmarks to assess the performance of generated image comprehension in relation to both content and style interpretation. These benchmarks encompass prompt inversion, style retrieval, image captioning, and visual question answering. Lastly, we evaluate the performance of state-of-the-art multi-modal models when applied to the JourneyDB dataset, providing a comprehensive analysis of their strengths and limitations in comprehending generated content. We anticipate that the proposed dataset and benchmarks will facilitate further research in the field of generative content understanding. The dataset is publicly available at https://journeydb.github.io.

Driven by the vision of "intelligent connection of everything" toward 6G, the collective intelligence of networked machines can be fully exploited to improve system efficiency by shifting the paradigm of wireless communication design from naive maximalist approaches to intelligent value-based approaches. In this article, we propose an on-purpose machine communication framework enabled by joint communication, sensing, and computation (JCSC) technology, which employs machine semantics as the interactive information flow. Naturally, there are potential technical barriers to be solved before the widespread adoption of on-purpose communications, including the conception of machine purpose, fast and concise networking strategy, and semantics-aware information exchange mechanism during the process of task-oriented cooperation. Hence, we discuss enabling technologies complemented by a range of open challenges. The simulation result shows that the proposed framework can significantly reduce networking overhead and improve communication efficiency.

Detecting and assessing statistical significance of differentially methylated regions (DMRs) is a fundamental task in methylome association studies. While the average differential methylation in different phenotype groups has been the inferential focus, methylation changes in chromosomal regions may also present as differential variability, i.e., variably methylated regions (VMRs). Testing statistical significance of regional differential methylation is a challenging problem, and existing algorithms do not provide accurate type I error control for genome-wide DMR or VMR analysis. No algorithm has been publicly available for detecting VMRs. We propose DMseg, a Python algorithm with efficient DMR/VMR detection and significance assessment for array-based methylome data, and compare its performance to Bumphunter, a popular existing algorithm. Operationally, DMseg searches for DMRs or VMRs within CpG clusters that are adaptively determined by both gap distance and correlation between contiguous CpG sites in a microarray. Levene test was implemented for assessing differential variability of individual CpGs. A likelihood ratio statistic is proposed to test for a constant difference within CpGs in a DMR or VMR to summarize the evidence of regional difference. Using a stratified permutation scheme and pooling null distributions of LRTs from clusters with similar numbers of CpGs, DMseg provides accurate control of the type I error rate. In simulation experiments, DMseg shows superior power than Bumphunter to detect DMRs. Application to methylome data of Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma reveals a number of DMRs and VMRs of biological interest.

Cancer development is associated with aberrant DNA methylation, including increased stochastic variability. Statistical tests for discovering cancer methylation biomarkers have focused on changes in mean methylation. To improve the power of detection, we propose to incorporate increased variability in testing for cancer differential methylation by two joint constrained tests: one for differential mean and increased variance, the other for increased mean and increased variance. To improve small sample properties, likelihood ratio statistics are developed, accounting for the variability in estimating the sample medians in the Levene test. Efficient algorithms were developed and implemented in DMVC function of R package DMtest. The proposed joint constrained tests were compared to standard tests and partial area under the curve (pAUC) for the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) in simulated datasets under diverse models. Application to the high-throughput methylome data in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) shows substantially increased yield of candidate CpG markers.

Here the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The isospin symmetry of the $Σ$ baryon in charmonium hadronic decay and the "$12\%$ rule" are tested, and no violation is found. The potential of using these channels as $Σ$ baryon sources for nuclear physics research is studied, and the momentum and angular distributions of these sources are provided.

In the present study, the calculations of two-body decays B^{0}_{s} \rightarrow \ TT [ T denotes tensor mesons, a_{2}(1320), K^{*}_{2}(1430), f_{2}(1270), f^{'}_{2}(1525)] in the perturbative QCD approach are presented. The ensuing predictions encompass branching ratios, polarization fractions, and direct CP violations, all elucidated in comprehensive detail. It is discerned that (1) for pure annihilation decay, the longitudinal polarization is around 90.0\%, whereas the transverse polarizations manifest comparatively diminutive magnitudes. (2) The direct CP asymmetry is directly proportional to the interference between the tree and penguin contributions. For most of the decays investigated within this discourse, the direct CP asymmetry remains modest in magnitude. (3) There are precisely six distinct categories of Feynman diagrams for B^{0}_{s} \rightarrow \ TT , because the tensor mesons cannot be produced through the (V \pm A) currents or (S \pm P) density, thereby prohibiting factorizable emission diagrams. The nonfactorizable and annihilation contributions are ascertained to be pivotal in these decay modes. The calculated branching ratios of our calculation for B^{0}_{s} \rightarrow \ TT are at the order of 10^{-6} and 10^{-7}, which can be tested in the LHCb and Belle II experiments. (4) Mixing exists for the f_{2}(1270) and f^{'}_{2}(1525), just as the ηand η^{'} mixing, the branching ratios about the mixing angle θare given in this work. However, it is different from f_{1}(1285)-f_{1}(1420), the mixing angle is notably small, thereby resulting in only marginal alterations in the decay branching ratios.

This paper introduces a novel transformer-based network architecture, FlowFormer, along with the Masked Cost Volume AutoEncoding (MCVA) for pretraining it to tackle the problem of optical flow estimation. FlowFormer tokenizes the 4D cost-volume built from the source-target image pair and iteratively refines flow estimation with a cost-volume encoder-decoder architecture. The cost-volume encoder derives a cost memory with alternate-group transformer~(AGT) layers in a latent space and the decoder recurrently decodes flow from the cost memory with dynamic positional cost queries. On the Sintel benchmark, FlowFormer architecture achieves 1.16 and 2.09 average end-point-error~(AEPE) on the clean and final pass, a 16.5\% and 15.5\% error reduction from the GMA~(1.388 and 2.47). MCVA enhances FlowFormer by pretraining the cost-volume encoder with a masked autoencoding scheme, which further unleashes the capability of FlowFormer with unlabeled data. This is especially critical in optical flow estimation because ground truth flows are more expensive to acquire than labels in other vision tasks. MCVA improves FlowFormer all-sided and FlowFormer+MCVA ranks 1st among all published methods on both Sintel and KITTI-2015 benchmarks and achieves the best generalization performance. Specifically, FlowFormer+MCVA achieves 1.07 and 1.94 AEPE on the Sintel benchmark, leading to 7.76\% and 7.18\% error reductions from FlowFormer.

Image recognition and generation have long been developed independently of each other. With the recent trend towards general-purpose representation learning, the development of general representations for both recognition and generation tasks is also promoted. However, preliminary attempts mainly focus on generation performance, but are still inferior on recognition tasks. These methods are modeled in the vector-quantized (VQ) space, whereas leading recognition methods use pixels as inputs. Our key insights are twofold: (1) pixels as inputs are crucial for recognition tasks; (2) VQ tokens as reconstruction targets are beneficial for generation tasks. These observations motivate us to propose an Alternating Denoising Diffusion Process (ADDP) that integrates these two spaces within a single representation learning framework. In each denoising step, our method first decodes pixels from previous VQ tokens, then generates new VQ tokens from the decoded pixels. The diffusion process gradually masks out a portion of VQ tokens to construct the training samples. The learned representations can be used to generate diverse high-fidelity images and also demonstrate excellent transfer performance on recognition tasks. Extensive experiments show that our method achieves competitive performance on unconditional generation, ImageNet classification, COCO detection, and ADE20k segmentation. Importantly, our method represents the first successful development of general representations applicable to both generation and dense recognition tasks. Code is released at \url{https://github.com/ChangyaoTian/ADDP}.

Precision measurements of the semileptonic decays $D_s^+ \to ηe^+ ν_e$ and $D_s^+ \to η^\prime e^+ ν_e$ are performed with 7.33\,fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector. The branching fractions obtained are $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+ \to ηe^{+} ν_e)$ = $(2.255\pm0.039_{\rm stat}\pm 0.051_{\rm syst})\%$ and $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+ \to η^{\prime} e^{+} ν_e)$ = $(0.810\pm0.038_{\rm stat}\pm 0.024_{\rm syst})\%$. Combining these results with the $\mathcal{B}(D^+\toηe^+ ν_e)$ and $\mathcal{B}(D^+\toη^\prime e^+ ν_e)$ obtained from previous BESIII measurements, the $η-η^\prime$ mixing angle in the quark flavor basis is determined to be $φ_{\rm P} = (40.0\pm2.0_{\rm stat}\pm0.6_{\rm syst})^\circ$. Moreover, from the fits to the partial decay rates of $D_s^+ \to ηe^+ ν_e$ and $D_s^+ \to η^\prime e^+ ν_e$, the products of the hadronic transition form factors $f_+^{η^{(\prime)}}(0)$ and the modulus of the $c\to s$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ are determined by using different hadronic transition form factor parametrizations. Based on the two-parameter series expansion, the products $f^η_+(0)|V_{cs}| = 0.4519\pm0.0071_{\rm stat}\pm0.0065_{\rm syst}$ and $f^{η^\prime}_+(0)|V_{cs}| = 0.525\pm0.024_{\rm stat}\pm0.009_{\rm syst}$ are extracted. All results determined in this work supersede those measured in the previous BESIII analyses based on the 3.19 fb$^{-1}$ subsample of data at 4.178 GeV.

The branching fraction of the decay is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λμ^+ν_μ)=(3.48\pm0.14_{\rm stat.}\pm0.10_{\rm syst.})\%$, three times more precise than the prior world average result. Tests of lepton flavor universality using $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ\ell^+ν_{\ell}$ ($\ell=e, μ$) decays are reported for the first time, based on measurements of the differential decay rates and the forward-backward asymmetries in separate four-momentum transfer regions. The results are compatible with Standard Model predictions. Furthermore, we improve the determination of the form-factor parameters in $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ\ell^+ν_{\ell}$ decays, which provide stringent tests and calibration for lattice quantum chromodynamics (LQCD) calculations.
