We introduce Tree D-fusion, featuring the first collection of 600,000 environmentally aware, 3D simulation-ready tree models generated through Diffusion priors. Each reconstructed 3D tree model corresponds to an image from Google's Auto Arborist Dataset, comprising street view images and associated genus labels of trees across North America. Our method distills the scores of two tree-adapted diffusion models by utilizing text prompts to specify a tree genus, thus facilitating shape reconstruction. This process involves reconstructing a 3D tree envelope filled with point markers, which are subsequently utilized to estimate the tree's branching structure using the space colonization algorithm conditioned on a specified genus.

The multipartite nonlocality provides deep insights into the fundamental feature of quantum mechanics and guarantees different degrees of cryptography security for potential applications in the quantum internet. Verifying multipartite nonlocal correlations is a difficult task. We propose a unified approach that encompasses all the quantum characteristics of the multipartite correlated system beyond from fully separable to biseparable no-signaling correlations. We offer a straightforward method to verify general systems by lifting partial nonlocal correlations. This allows to construct a chained Bell inequality, facilitating the unified verification of hierarchic multipartite nonlocalities. We finally apply the lifting method to verify the correlations derived from quantum networks.

The maximum energy extraction can be characterized by using the passive states that has no extracted energy under any cyclic unitary process. In this paper, we focus on the concept of marginal passive state energy and derive polygon inequalities for multi-qubit entangled pure states. We show that the marginal passive state energies collectively form a convex polytope for each class of quantum states that are equivalent under SLOCC. We finally introduce multipartite passive state energy criteria to classify multipartite entanglement under SLOCC. Multipartite entanglement is one of the crucial resources in quantum information processing tasks such as quantum metrology, quantum computing and quantum communications. It is essential to verify not only the multipartite entanglement, but also the entanglement structure in both fundamental theories and the applications of quantum information technologies. However, it is proved to be challenging to detect the entanglement structures, including entanglement depth, entanglement intactness and entanglement stretchability, especially for general states and large-scale quantum systems. By using the partitions of the tensor product space we propose a systematic method to construct powerful entanglement witnesses which identify better the multipartite entanglement structures. Besides, an efficient algorithm using semi-definite programming and a gradient descent algorithm are designed to detect entanglement structure from the inner polytope of the convex set containing all the states with the same entanglement structure. We demonstrate by detailed examples that our criteria perform better than other known ones. Our results may be applied to many quantum information processing tasks.

Quantum coherence constitutes a foundational characteristic of quantum mechanics and is integral to emerging quantum resource theories. However, quantum coherence is severely restricted by environmental noise in general quantum processing, indicated by the loss of information of a quantum system. Such processing can be described by the trade-offs between the coherence and the mixedness. Based on the $l_2$ norm coherence, conditional von Neumann entropy and Wigner-Yanase skew information, we derive basis-independent constraints on the attainable quantum coherence imposed by the mixedness of a quantum state, which generalize the prior basis-dependent relations, provide fundamental insights into the latent coherence resources present within arbitrary quantum systems that undergo decoherence and quantify the inherent limits on extractable coherence imposed by environmental noise.

Variational quantum circuits are one of the promising ways to exploit the advantages of quantum computing in the noisy intermediate-scale quantum technology era. The design of the quantum circuit architecture might greatly affect the performance capability of the quantum algorithms. The quantum architecture search is the process of automatically designing quantum circuit architecture, aiming at finding the optimal quantum circuit composition architecture by the algorithm for a given task, so that the algorithm can learn to design the circuit architecture. Compared to manual design, quantum architecture search algorithms are more effective in finding quantum circuits with better performance capabilities. In this paper, based on the deep reinforcement learning, we propose an approach for quantum circuit architecture search. The sampling of the circuit architecture is learnt through reinforcement learning based controller. Layer-based search is also used to accelerate the computational efficiency of the search algorithm. Applying to data classification tasks we show that the method can search for quantum circuit architectures with better accuracies. Moreover, the circuit has a smaller number of quantum gates and parameters.

Quantum entanglement plays a key role in quantum computation and quantum information processing. It is of great significance to find efficient and experimentally friend separability criteria to detect entanglement. In this paper, we firstly propose two easily used entanglement criteria based on matrix moments. The first entanglement criterion only uses the first two realignment moments of a density matrix. The second entanglement criterion is based on the moments related to the partially transposed matrix. By detailed examples we illustrate the effectiveness of these criteria in detecting entanglement. Moreover, we provide an experimentally measurable lower bound of concurrence based on these moments. Finally, we present both bipartite and genuine tripartite entanglement measures based on the moments of the reduced states. By detailed examples, we show that our entanglement measures characterize the quantum entanglement in a more fine ways than the existing measures.

By using the $l_{1}$ norm of imaginarity and the normalized linear entropy, we conclusively identify the MIMSs for both qubit and qutrit systems. For high-dimensional quantum systems, we present a comprehensive class of MIMSs, which also gives rise to complementarity relations between the $1$-norm of imaginarity and the $1$-norm of mixedness, as well as between the relative entropy of imaginarity and the von Neumann entropy. Furthermore, we examine the evolution of the trade-off relation for single-qubit states under four specific Markovian channels: bit flip channel, phase damping channel, depolarizing channel and amplitude damping channel.

Local unitary equivalence is an important ingredient for quantifying and classifying entanglement. Verifying whether or not two quantum states are local unitary equivalent is a crucial problem, where only the case of multipartite pure states is solved. For mixed states, however, the verification of local unitary equivalence is still a challenging problem. In this paper, based on the coefficient matrices of generalized Bloch representations of quantum states, we find a variety of local unitary invariants for arbitrary-dimensional bipartite quantum states. These invariants are operational and can be used as necessary conditions for verifying the local unitary equivalence of two quantum states. Furthermore, we extend the construction to the arbitrary-dimensional multipartite case. We finally apply these invariants to estimate concurrence, a vital entanglement measure, showing the practicability of local unitary invariants in characterizing entanglement.

Due to the lack of a large-scale wild forest monitoring benchmark, the common practice is to train the model on a common outdoor benchmark (e.g., KITTI) and evaluate it on real forest datasets (e.g., CanaTree100). However, there is a large domain gap in this setting, which makes the evaluation and deployment difficult. In this paper, we propose a new photorealistic virtual forest dataset and a multimodal transformer-based algorithm for tree detection and instance segmentation. The monogamy property of entanglement is an intriguing feature of multipartite quantum entanglement. Most entanglement measures satisfying the monogamy inequality are turned out to be convex. Whether nonconvex entanglement measures obeys the monogamy inequalities remains less known at present. As a well known measure of entanglement, the logarithmic negativity is not convex. We elucidate the constraints of multi-qubit entanglement based on the logarithmic convex-roof extended negativity (LCREN) and the logarithmic convex-roof extended negativity of assistance (LCRENoA). Using the Hamming weight derived from the binary vector associated with the distribution of subsystems, we establish monogamy inequalities for multi-qubit entanglement in terms of the $α$th-power ($α\geq 4\ln2$) of LCREN, and polygamy inequalities utilizing the $α$th-power ($0 \leq α\leq 2$) of LCRENoA. We demonstrate that these inequalities give rise to tighter constraints than the existing ones. Furthermore, our monogamy inequalities are shown to remain valid for the high dimensional states that violate the CKW monogamy inequality. Detailed examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of our results in characterizing the multipartite entanglement distributions.

Semantic segmentation of remote sensing images plays a vital role in a wide range of Earth Observation (EO) applications, such as land use land cover mapping, environment monitoring, and sustainable development. Driven by rapid developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI), deep learning (DL) has emerged as the mainstream tool for semantic segmentation and has achieved many breakthroughs in the field of remote sensing. However, the existing DL-based methods mainly focus on unimodal visual data while ignoring the rich multimodal information involved in the real world, usually demonstrating weak reliability and generlization. Inspired by the success of Vision Transformers and large language models, we propose a novel metadata-collaborative multimodal segmentation network (MetaSegNet) that applies vision-language representation learning for semantic segmentation of remote sensing images. Unlike the common model structure that only uses unimodal visual data, we extract the key characteristic (e.g. the climate zone) from freely available remote sensing image metadata and transfer it into knowledge-based text prompts via the generic ChatGPT. Then, we construct an image encoder, a text encoder and a cross-modal attention fusion subnetwork to extract the image and text feature and apply image-text interaction. Benefiting from such a design, the proposed MetaSegNet demonstrates superior generalization and achieves competitive accuracy with the state-of-the-art semantic segmentation methods on the large-scale OpenEarthMap dataset (68.6% mIoU) and Potsdam dataset (93.3% mean F1 score) as well as LoveDA dataset (52.2% mIoU).

We show that these newly derived monogamy and polygamy inequalities are tighter than the existing ones. By applying these results to specific quantum correlations such as concurrence and the square of convex-roof extended negativity of assistance (SCRENoA), the corresponding new classes of monogamy and polygamy relations are obtained, which include the existing ones as special cases. Detailed examples are given to illustrate the advantages of our results.

Abstract:
Multipartite entanglement holds great importance in quantum information processing. The distribution of entanglement among subsystems can be characterized by monogamy relations. Based on the $β$th power of concurrence and negativity, we provide two new monogamy inequalities. Through detailed examples, we demonstrate that these inequalities are tighter than previous results.

The quantum network correlations play significant roles in long distance quantum communication, quantum cryptography and distributed quantum computing. Generally it is very difficult to characterize the multipartite quantum network correlations such as nonlocality, entanglement and steering. In this paper, we propose the network and the genuine network quantum steering models from the aspect of probabilities in the star network configurations. Linear and nonlinear inequalities are derived to detect the network and genuine network quantum steering when the central party performs one fixed measurement. We show that our criteria can detect more quantum network steering than that from the violation of the n-locality quantum networks. Moreover, it is shown that biseparable assemblages can demonstrate genuine network steering in the star network configurations.

Quantum coherence is the key resource in quantum technologies including faster computing, secure communication and advanced sensing. Its quantification and detection are, therefore, paramount within the context of quantum information processing. Having certain priori knowledge on the observables may enhance the efficiency of coherence detection. In this work, we posit that the trace of the observables is a known quantity. Our investigation confirms that this assumption indeed extends the scope of coherence detection capabilities. Utilizing this prior knowledge of the trace of the observables, we establish a series of coherence detection criteria. We investigate the detection capabilities of these coherence criteria from diverse perspectives and ultimately ascertain the existence of four distinct and inequivalent criteria. These findings contribute to the deepening of our understanding of coherence detection methodologies, thereby potentially opening new avenues for advancements in quantum technologies.

Liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) represent a promising approach for hydrogen storage due to their favorable properties including stability and compatibility with the existing infrastructure. However, fossil-based LOHC molecules are not green or sustainable. Here we examined the possibility of using norbelladine and trisphaeridine, two typical structures of Amaryllidaceae alkaloids, as the LOHCs from the sustainable and renewable sources of natural products. Our first principles thermodynamics calculations reveal low reversibility for the reaction of norbelladine to/from perhydro-norbelladine because of the existence of stabler isomers of perhydro-norbelladine. On the other hand, trisphaeridine is found promising due to its high hydrogen storage capacity ($\sim$5.9 wt\%) and favorable energetics. Dehydrogenation of perhydro-trisphaeridine has an average standard enthalpy change of $\sim$54 KJ/mol-H$_2$, similar to that of perhydro-\textit{N}-ethylcarbazole, a typical LOHC known for its low dehydrogenation enthalpy. This work is a first exploration of Amaryllidaceae alkaloids for hydrogen storage and the results demonstrate, more generally, the potential of bio-based molecules as a new sustainable resource for future large-scale hydrogen storage.

Understanding of the critical atomistic steps during the dehydrogenation process of liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) is important to the design of cost-efficient, high-performance LOHC catalysts. Based on the density functional theory (DFT) we studied the thermodynamics and kinetics of the complete dehydrogenation path of perhydro-N-ethylcarbazole (12H-NEC) on Ru(0001) surface, involving the adsorption of 12H-NEC, the discharge of H ions onto Ru surface, and the desorption of H2 and hydrogen-lean NEC. It was found that the bonding of nH-NEC is significantly strengthened for n $\le$ 4 because of the flat aromatic ring. Although the whole dehydrogenation process is endothermic, the release of H from nH-NEC, with H adsorbed onto the Ru surface, was found to be exothermic. The desorption of flat, hydrogen-lean NEC, which costs ~255 kJ/mol, was identified as the most energy demanding step. In addition, the effect of surface morphology on adsorption was studied based on an amorphous surface model. Overall, the results imply more efficient dehydrogenation could be achieved from relatively weak bonding of NEC to catalysts, either through engineering catalyst surface (such as surface defects or smaller catalyst particles) or different catalyst materials. Our calculations also revealed possible dealkylation at elevated temperatures.

While the usual Bloch representation of a density matrix uses three types of generators, the density matrix with COB operators has one uniformed type of generators which may simplify related computations. We take the advantage of this simplicity to derive useful and operational criteria to detect genuine tripartite entanglement and multipartite entanglement. We first convert the general states to simpler forms by using the relationship between general symmetric informationally complete measurements and COB. Then we derive an operational criteria to detect genuine tripartite entanglement. We study multipartite entanglement in arbitrary dimensional multipartite systems. From the polygamy relation with equality, we present polygamy inequalities satisfied by the $β$th $(β>0)$ power of the quantum correlation measures. We also obtain a polygamy relation with equality by considering the one-to-group entanglements for any quantum entanglement measures that do not satisfy the polygamy relations. Solving a Poisson equation is generally reduced to solving a linear system with a coefficient matrix $A$ of entries $a_{ij}$, $i,j=1,2,...,n$, from the discretized Poisson equation. Although the variational quantum algorithms are promising algorithms to solve the discretized Poisson equation, they generally require that $A$ be decomposed into a sum of $O[\text{poly}(\text{log}_2n)]$ simple operators in order to evaluate efficiently the loss function. A tensor product decomposition of $A$ with $2\text{log}_2n+1$ terms has been explored in previous works. In this paper, based on the decomposition of sparse Hamiltonians we greatly reduce the number of terms. We first write the loss function in terms of the operator $σ_x\otimes A$ with $σ_x$ denoting the standard Pauli operator. Then for the one-dimensional Poisson equations with different boundary conditions and for the $d$-dimensional Poisson equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions, we decompose $σ_x\otimes A$ into a sum of at most 7 and $(4d+1)$ Hermitian, one-sparse, and self-inverse operators, respectively. We design explicitly the quantum circuits to evaluate efficiently the loss function. The decomposition method and the design of quantum circuits can also be easily extended to linear systems with Hermitian and sparse coefficient matrices satisfying $a_{i,i+c}=a_{c}$ for $c=0,1,\cdots,n-1$ and $i=0,\cdots,n-1-c$.

Although many criteria have been proposed, efficient and scalable methods to detect the entanglement of generally given quantum states are still not available yet, particularly for high-dimensional and multipartite quantum systems. Based on FixMatch and Pseudo-Label method, we propose a deep semi-supervised learning model with a small portion of labeled data and a large portion of unlabeled data. The data augmentation strategies are applied in this model by using the convexity of separable states and performing local unitary operations on the training data. Previous works show that bilateral sharing of nonlocality is impossible under mild measurement strategy and 2-qubit entangled state can be used to witness entanglement arbitrary many times by sequential and independent pairs of observers. However, less is known about the bilateral sharing of EPR steering yet. Here, we aim at investigating the EPR steering sharing between sequential pairs of observers. We show that an unbounded number of sequential Alice-Bob pairs can share the EPR steering as long as the initially shared state is an entangled two-qubit pure state. Quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) is a promising variational quantum algorithm for combinatorial optimization problems. However, the implementation of QAOA is limited due to the requirement that the problems be mapped to Ising Hamiltonians and the nonconvex optimization landscapes. Although the Ising Hamiltonians for many NP hard problems have been obtained, a general method to obtain the Ising Hamiltonians for constrained combinatorial optimization problems (CCOPs) has not yet been investigated. In this paper, a general method is introduced to obtain the Ising Hamiltonians for CCOPs and the Metropolis-Hastings warm-starting algorithm for QAOA is presented which can provably converge to the global optimal solutions. The effectiveness of this method is demonstrated by tackling the minimum weight vertex cover (MWVC) problem, the minimum vertex cover (MVC) problem, and the maximal independent set problem as examples. The Ising Hamiltonian for the MWVC problem is obtained first time by using this method. The advantages of the Metropolis-Hastings warm-starting algorithm presented here is numerically analyzed through solving 30 randomly generated MVC cases with 1-depth QAOA.

Based on the concurrence of nine different classes of four-qubit states, with each class being closed under stochastic local operation and classical communication, we construct a concurrence tetrahedron. We present a bona fide measure of quantum coherence by utilizing the Tsallis relative operator $(α, β)$-entropy. We first prove that the proposed coherence measure fulfills all the criteria of a well defined coherence measure, including the strong monotonicity in the resource theories of quantum coherence. The superposition of states is one of the most fundamental issues in the quantum world. Generally there do not exist physical operations to superpose two unknown random states with nonzero probability. We investigate the superposition problem of unknown qubit states with respect to a known qubit state. It is shown that under trace-nonincreasing completely positive operations the superposable state sets are located in some circles on the Bloch sphere. Meanwhile, we prove that the quantum states in a circle on the Bloch sphere are superposable with respect to a known state. Finally, for the high-dimensional case, we illustrate that any superposition transformation protocols will violate the no-cloning principle for almost all the states. Our results also promote the understanding and applications of the superposition principle in view of quantum no-go theorems.

Originated from the work extraction in quantum systems coupled to a heat bath, quantum deficit is a kind of significant quantum correlations like quantum entanglement. It links quantum thermodynamics with quantum information. We analytically calculate the one-way deficit of the generalized $n$-qubit Werner state. We find that the one-way deficit increases as the mixing probability $p$ increases for any $n$. For fixed $p$, we observe that the one-way deficit increases as $n$ increases. For any $n$, the maximum of one-way deficit is attained at $p=1$. Furthermore, for large $n$ ($2^n \rightarrow \infty$), we prove that the curve of one-way deficit versus $p$ approaches to a straight line with slope $1$. We also calculate the Holevo quantity for the generalized $n$-qubit Werner state, and show that it is zero.

In this paper, we propose DeepTree, a novel method for modeling trees based on learning developmental rules for branching structures instead of manually defining them. We call our deep neural model situated latent because its behavior is determined by the intrinsic state -- encoded as a latent space of a deep neural model -- and by the extrinsic (environmental) data that is situated as the location in the 3D space and on the tree structure. We use a neural network pipeline to train a situated latent space that allows us to locally predict branch growth only based on a single node in the branch graph of a tree model. We use this representation to progressively develop new branch nodes, thereby mimicking the growth process of trees. Starting from a root node, a tree is generated by iteratively querying the neural network on the newly added nodes resulting in the branching structure of the whole tree. Our method enables generating a wide variety of tree shapes without the need to define intricate parameters that control their growth and behavior. Furthermore, we show that the situated latents can also be used to encode the environmental response of tree models, e.g., when trees grow next to obstacles. We validate the effectiveness of our method by measuring the similarity of our tree models and by procedurally generated ones based on a number of established metrics for tree form.

Abstract:
We study the separability of bipartite quantum systems in arbitrary dimensions based on the Bloch representation of density matrices. We present two separability criteria for quantum states in terms of the matrices $T_{αβ}(ρ)$ and $W_{ab,αβ}(ρ)$ constructed from the correlation tensors in the Bloch representation. These separability criteria can be simplified and detect more entanglement than the…

These separability criteria can be simplified and detect more entanglement than the previous separability criteria. Detailed examples are given to illustrate the advantages of results.
