Eichler-Selberg relations for singular moduli
Abstract: The Eichler-Selberg trace formula expresses the trace of Hecke operators on spaces of cusp forms as weighted sums of Hurwitz-Kronecker class numbers. We extend this formula to a natural class of relations for traces of singular moduli, where one views class numbers as traces of the constant function $j_0(τ)=1$. More generally, we consider the singular moduli for the Hecke system of modular functio… ▽ More

A discretization of the iterated integral expression of the multiple polylogarithm
Abstract: Recently, Maesaka, Watanabe, and the third author discovered a phenomenon where the iterated integral expressions of multiple zeta values become discretized. In this paper, we extend their result to the case of multiple polylogarithms and provide two proofs. The first proof uses the method of connected sums, while the second employs induction based on the difference equations that discrete multipl… ▽ More

On integrality and asymptotic behavior of the $(k, l)$-Göbel sequences
Abstract: Recently, Matsuhira, Matsusaka, and Tsuchida revisited old studies on the integrality of $k$-Göbel sequences and showed that the first 19 terms are always integers for any integer $k\ge 2$. In this article, we further explore two topics: Ibstedt's $(k,l)$-Göbel sequences and Zagier's asymptotic formula for the $2$-Göbel sequence, and extend their results.

On finite analogues of Euler's constant
Abstract: We introduce and study finite analogues of Euler's constant in the same setting as finite multiple zeta values. We define a couple of candidate values from the perspectives of a ``regularized value of $ζ(1)$'' and of Mascheroni's and Kluyver--Nörlund's series expressions of Euler's constant using Gregory coefficients. Moreover, we reveal that the differences between them always lie in the… ▽ More

Asymptotic coefficients of multiple zeta functions at the origin and generalized Gregory coefficients
Abstract: Due to their singularities, multiple zeta functions behave sensitively at non-positive integer points. In this article, we focus on the asymptotic behavior at the origin $(0,\dots, 0)$ and unveil the generating series of the asymptotic coefficients as a generalization of the classical Gregory coefficients. This enables us to reveal the underlying symmetry of the asymptotic coefficients. Additional… ▽ More

Arithmetic Dijkgraaf-Witten invariants for real quadratic fields, quadratic residue graphs, and density formulas
Abstract: We compute Hirano's formula for the mod 2 arithmetic Dijkgraaf-Witten invariant ${Z}_k$ for the ring of integers of the quadratic field $k=\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{p_1\cdots p_r})$, where ${p_i}$'s are distinct prime numbers with $p_i \equiv 1 \pmod{4}$, and give a simple formula for $Z_k$ in terms of the graph obtained from quadratic residues among $p_1,\cdots, p_r$. Our result answers the question posed… ▽ More

How long can $k$-Göbel sequences remain integers?
Abstract: Inspired by Episode 3 of the Japanese manga "Seisu-tan" by Doom Kobayashi and Shin-ichiro Seki, we investigate the $k$-Göbel sequence $(g_{k,n})_n$ named after Fritz Göbel. Although the sequence is generally defined as rational, quite a few initial terms behave like an integer sequence. This article addresses a question raised in Seisu-tan and shows that $g_{k,n}$ is always an integer for any… ▽ More

Curious congruences for cyclotomic polynomials II
Abstract: We promote the recent research by Akiyama and Kaneko on the higher-order derivative values $Φ_n^{(k)}(1)$ of the cyclotomic polynomials. This article focuses on Lehmer's explicit formula of $Φ_n^{(k)}(1)/Φ_n(1)$ as a polynomial of the Euler and Jordan totient functions over $\mathbb{Q}$. Then we prove Akiyama-Kaneko's conjecture that the polynomials have a specific simple factor.

Hikami's observations on unified WRT invariants and false theta functions
Abstract: The object of this article is a family of $q$-series originating from Habiro's work on the Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants. The $q$-series usually make sense only when $q$ is a root of unity, but for some instances, it also determines a holomorphic function on the open unit disc. Such an example is Habiro's unified WRT invariant $H(q)$ for the Poincaré homology sphere. In 2007, Hikami observe… ▽ More

Remarkable relations between the central binomial series, Eulerian polynomials, and poly-Bernoulli numbers
Abstract: The central binomial series at negative integers are expressed as a linear combination of values of certain two polynomials. We show that one of the polynomials is a special value of the bivariate Eulerian polynomial and the other polynomial is related to the antidiagonal sum of poly-Bernoulli numbers. As an application, we prove Stephan's observation from 2004.

Abstract: É.Ghys proved that the linking numbers of modular knots and the "missing" trefoil $K_{2,3}$ in $S^3$ coincide with the values of a highly ubiquitous function called the Rademacher symbol for ${\rm SL}_2\mathbb{Z}$. In this paper, we replace ${\rm SL}_2\mathbb{Z}=Γ_{2,3}$ by the triangle group $Γ_{p,q}$ for any coprime pair $(p,q)$ of integers with $2\leq p<q$. We invoke the theory of harmonic Maas… ▽ More

On the behavior of multiple zeta-functions with identical arguments on the real line
Abstract: We study the behavior of $r$-fold zeta-functions of Euler-Zagier type with identical arguments $ζ_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$ on the real line. Our basic tool is an "infinite'' version of Newton's classical identities. We carry out numerical computations, and draw graphs of $ζ_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$ for real $s$, for several small values of $r$. Those graphs suggest various properties of $ζ_r(s,s,\ldots,s)$, some… ▽ More

Linear Diophantine equations in Piatetski-Shapiro sequences

Symmetrized poly-Bernoulli numbers and combinatorics

A Hyperbolic Analogue of the Rademacher Symbol
Abstract: One of the most famous results of Dedekind is the transformation law of $\log Δ(z)$. After a half-century, Rademacher modified Dedekind's result and introduced an $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$-conjugacy class invariant (integer-valued) function $Ψ(γ)$ called the Rademacher symbol. Inspired by Ghys' work on modular knots, Duke-Imamoglu-Tóth (2017) constructed a hyperbolic analogue of the symbol. In… ▽ More

Traces of CM values and cycle integrals of polyharmonic Maass forms
Abstract: Lagarias and Rhoades generalized harmonic Maass forms by considering forms which are annihilated by a number of iterations of the action of the xi-operator. In our previous work, we considered polyharmonic weak Maass forms by allowing the exponential growth at cusps, and constructed a basis of the space of such forms.
