Abstract:
Based on $10.64~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data taken at center-of-mass energies between 4.237 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector, we study the leptonic $D^+_s$ decays using the $e^+e^-\to D^{*+}_{s} D^{*-}_{s}$ process. The product of the decay constant and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ is determined to be $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|=(\mufdsxvcsresult)_{μν}~\mathrm{MeV}$ and $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|=(\taufdsxvcsresult))_{τν}~\mathrm{MeV}$, respectively. Taking the value of $|V_{cs}|$ from a global fit in the Standard Model, we obtain ${f_{D^+_s}}=(\mufdsresult)_{μν}$\,MeV and ${f_{D^+_s}}=(\taufdsresult)_{τν}$\,MeV, respectively. Conversely, taking the value for $f_{D_s^+}$ from the latest lattice quantum chromodynamics calculation, we obtain $|V_{cs}| =(\muvcsresult)_{μν}$ and $|V_{cs}| = (\tauvcsresult)_{τν}$, respectively.

This paper introduces an innovative deep learning-based method for end-to-end target radial length estimation from HRRP (High Resolution Range Profile) sequences. Firstly, the HRRP sequences are normalized and transformed into GAF (Gram Angular Field) images to effectively capture and utilize the temporal information. Subsequently, these GAF images serve as the input for a pretrained ResNet-101 model, which is then fine-tuned for target radial length estimation. The simulation results show that compared to traditional threshold method and simple networks e.g. one-dimensional CNN (Convolutional Neural Network), the proposed method demonstrates superior noise resistance and higher accuracy under low SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) conditions.

We have grown single crystals of PrMgAl$_{11}$O$_{19}$, an ideal triangular-lattice antiferromagnet, and performed magnetic susceptibility, specific heat and thermal conductivity measurements at low temperatures. The main results are as follows: (i) The temperature-dependent susceptibility shows a negligible in-plane response and the isothermal magnetization curves confirm the easy axis along the $c$ axis. (ii) The specific heat measurements reveal the absence of long-range magnetic order down to 60 mK, and the power-law temperature dependence indicates the existence of the gapless magnetic excitations in system. (iii) The ultralow-temperature thermal conductivity exhibits negligibly small residual term ($κ_0/T$) and strong spin-phonon scattering effect, suggesting that the spin excitations are also involved. Our results further demonstrate that PrMgAl$_{11}$O$_{19}$ is a rare quantum spin liquid candidate with Ising-like anisotropy.

Ensuring the general efficacy and goodness for human beings from medical large language models (LLM) before real-world deployment is crucial. However, a widely accepted and accessible evaluation process for medical LLM, especially in the Chinese context, remains to be established. In this work, we introduce "MedBench", a comprehensive, standardized, and reliable benchmarking system for Chinese medical LLM. First, MedBench assembles the currently largest evaluation dataset (300,901 questions) to cover 43 clinical specialties and performs multi-facet evaluation on medical LLM. Second, MedBench provides a standardized and fully automatic cloud-based evaluation infrastructure, with physical separations for question and ground truth. Third, MedBench implements dynamic evaluation mechanisms to prevent shortcut learning and answer remembering. Applying MedBench to popular general and medical LLMs, we observe unbiased, reproducible evaluation results largely aligning with medical professionals' perspectives. This study establishes a significant foundation for preparing the practical applications of Chinese medical LLMs. MedBench is publicly accessible at https://medbench.opencompass.org.cn.

Its compact design features three disks along the beam direction, minimized material budget and scattering effects. The FST uses Hamamatsu's p-in-n silicon strip sensors with a double metal layer for efficient signal processing. The flexible hybrid boards, essential for the readout system, are constructed with Kapton and copper layers to optimize signal handling and power distribution. These boards connect silicon strips to analogue pipeline ASIC APV25-S1 chips, which read up to 128 channels each. A cooling system with nonconducting, volatile NOVEC 7200 coolant at 22.2°C mitigates ASIC-generated heat. The FST enhances forward tracking performance at RHIC, showcasing unique design solutions to complex challenges.

High Resolution Range Profiles (HRRP) have become a key area of focus in the domain of Radar Automatic Target Recognition (RATR). Despite the success of data-driven neural network-based HRRP recognition, challenges such as insufficient training samples persist in its real-world application. This letter introduces HRRPGraphNet, a novel Graph Neural Network (GNN) model designed specifically for HRRP target recognition that leverages new insights to address these challenges. A pivotal innovation is the transformation of HRRP data into a graph structure, utilizing a range cell amplitude-based node vector and a range-relative adjacency matrix. This graph-based approach facilitates both local feature extraction via one-dimensional convolution layers and global feature extraction through a graph convolution layer, capitalizing on the intrinsic relationships between range cells which is a distinct advantage over existing sequence-based methods. Experiments on the aircraft electromagnetic simulation dataset and the measured dataset have confirmed HRRPGraphNet's superior accuracy and robustness, particularly in fewer training sample environments, underscoring the potential of graph-driven innovations in HRRP-based RATR.

The absolute branching fractions of $D_{s1}(2536)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^{*0}K^-$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^0K^-$ are measured for the first time to be $(35.9\pm 4.8\pm 3.5)\%$ and $(37.4\pm 3.1\pm 4.6)\%$, respectively. The measurements are in tension with predictions based on the assumption that the $D_{s1}(2536)$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)$ are dominated by a bare $c\bar{s}$ component. The $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^-$ and $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ cross sections are measured, and a resonant structure at around 4.6~GeV with a width of 50~MeV is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $15σ$ in the $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ process. It could be the $Y(4626)$ found by the Belle collaboration in the $D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^{-}$ final state, since they have similar masses and widths. There is also evidence for a structure at around 4.75~GeV in both processes.

Recent advances in topological one-dimensional photonic crystal concepts have enabled the development of robust light-emitting devices by incorporating a topological interface state (TIS) at the cavity center. In this study, we theoretically and experimentally demonstrate a one-dimensional TIS-extended photonic crystal (1D-TISE-PC) structure. By integrating a linearly dispersive zero-index one-dimensional photonic crystal structure with a four-phase shift sampled grating, photons propagate along the cavity without phase differences, enhancing the robustness to material variations and extending the TIS. Our findings indicate that extending the TIS promotes a more uniform photon distribution along the laser cavity and mitigates the spatial hole burning (SHB) effect. We fabricated and characterized a 1550 nm sidewall 1D-TISE-PC semiconductor laser, achieving stable single-mode operation across a wide current range from 60 to 420 mA, with a side-mode suppression ratio of 50 dB. The 1D-TISE-PC structure exhibited a linewidth narrowing effect to approximately 150 kHz Lorentzian linewidth. Utilizing reconstruction equivalent-chirp technology for the 4PS sampled grating enabled precise wavelength control in 1D-TISE-PC laser arrays, achieving a wavelength spacing of 0.796 nm +- 0.003 nm. We show that the TIS still exists in the TISE cavity and topological protection is preserved. Its mode extension characteristics mitigate the SHB so narrows the linewidth. We argue that the design simplicity and improvement of the fabrication tolerance make this architecture suitable for high-power and narrow-linewidth semiconductor lasers development.

Existing research on learning with noisy labels predominantly focuses on synthetic label noise. Although synthetic noise possesses well-defined structural properties, it often fails to accurately replicate real-world noise patterns. In recent years, there has been a concerted effort to construct generalizable and controllable instance-dependent noise datasets for image classification, significantly advancing the development of noise-robust learning in this area. However, studies on noisy label learning for text classification remain scarce. To better understand label noise in real-world text classification settings, we constructed the benchmark dataset NoisyAG-News through manual annotation. Initially, we analyzed the annotated data to gather observations about real-world noise. We qualitatively and quantitatively demonstrated that real-world noisy labels adhere to instance-dependent patterns. Subsequently, we conducted comprehensive learning experiments on NoisyAG-News and its corresponding synthetic noise datasets using pre-trained language models and noise-handling techniques. Our findings reveal that while pre-trained models are resilient to synthetic noise, they struggle against instance-dependent noise, with samples of varying confusion levels showing inconsistent performance during training and testing. These real-world noise patterns pose new, significant challenges, prompting a reevaluation of noisy label handling methods. We hope that NoisyAG-News will facilitate the development and evaluation of future solutions for learning with noisy labels.

In this paper, we propose a specialized psychological large language model (LLM), named PsycoLLM, trained on a proposed high-quality psychological dataset, including single-turn QA, multi-turn dialogues enriched with prior knowledge and knowledge-based QA. Additionally, to compare the performance of PsycoLLM with other LLMs, we develop a comprehensive psychological benchmark based on authoritative psychological counseling examinations in China, which includes assessments of professional ethics, theoretical proficiency, and case analysis. 3D referring expression comprehension (3DREC) and segmentation (3DRES) have overlapping objectives, indicating their potential for collaboration. However, existing collaborative approaches predominantly depend on the results of one task to make predictions for the other, limiting effective collaboration. We argue that employing separate branches for 3DREC and 3DRES tasks enhances the model's capacity to learn specific information for each task, enabling them to acquire complementary knowledge. Thus, we propose the MCLN framework, which includes independent branches for 3DREC and 3DRES tasks. This enables dedicated exploration of each task and effective coordination between the branches. Furthermore, to facilitate mutual reinforcement between these branches, we introduce a Relative Superpoint Aggregation (RSA) module and an Adaptive Soft Alignment (ASA) module. These modules significantly contribute to the precise alignment of prediction results from the two branches, directing the module to allocate increased attention to key positions. Comprehensive experimental evaluation demonstrates that our proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance on both the 3DREC and 3DRES tasks, with an increase of 2.05% in Acc@0.5 for 3DREC and 3.96% in mIoU for 3DRES.

Recently, diffusion models have increasingly demonstrated their capabilities in vision understanding. By leveraging prompt-based learning to construct sentences, these models have shown proficiency in classification and visual grounding tasks. However, existing approaches primarily showcase their ability to perform sentence-level localization, leaving the potential for leveraging contextual information for phrase-level understanding largely unexplored. In this paper, we utilize Panoptic Narrative Grounding (PNG) as a proxy task to investigate this capability further. PNG aims to segment object instances mentioned by multiple noun phrases within a given narrative text. Specifically, we introduce the DiffPNG framework, a straightforward yet effective approach that fully capitalizes on the diffusion's architecture for segmentation by decomposing the process into a sequence of localization, segmentation, and refinement steps. The framework initially identifies anchor points using cross-attention mechanisms and subsequently performs segmentation with self-attention to achieve zero-shot PNG. Moreover, we introduce a refinement module based on SAM to enhance the quality of the segmentation masks. Our extensive experiments on the PNG dataset demonstrate that DiffPNG achieves strong performance in the zero-shot PNG task setting, conclusively proving the diffusion model's capability for context-aware, phrase-level understanding. In software development, bug report reproduction is a challenging task. This paper introduces ReBL, a novel feedback-driven approach that leverages GPT-4, a large-scale language model, to automatically reproduce Android bug reports. Unlike traditional methods, ReBL bypasses the use of Step to Reproduce (S2R) entities. Instead, it leverages the entire textual bug report and employs innovative prompts to enhance GPT's contextual reasoning. This approach is more flexible and context-aware than the traditional step-by-step entity matching approach, resulting in improved accuracy and effectiveness. In addition to handling crash reports, ReBL has the capability of handling non-crash bug reports. Our evaluation of 96 Android bug reports (73 crash and 23 non-crash) demonstrates that ReBL successfully reproduced 90.63% of these reports, averaging only 74.98 seconds per bug report. Additionally, ReBL outperformed three existing tools in both success rate and speed.

Performance plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of any mobile application, directly influencing user engagement and retention. Android applications are no exception. However, unlike functionality issues, performance issues are more challenging to discover as their root causes are sophisticated and typically emerge under specific payloads. To tackle this problem, researchers have dedicated substantial efforts to proposing automatic approaches for understanding, detecting, and resolving performance issues. Despite these endeavors, it still remains unknown what the status quo of Android performance analysis is, and whether existing approaches can indeed accurately reflect real performance issues. To fill this research gap, we conducted a systematic literature review followed by an explanatory study to explore relevant studies and real-world challenges. Our findings reveal that current tools have limited capabilities, covering only 17.50% of the performance issues. Additionally, existing datasets encompass only 27.50% of the issues and are very limited in size. We also show real-world issue patterns, underscoring the huge gap between the identified techniques and practical concerns. Furthermore, possible solutions are provided to guide future research towards achieving effective performance issue detection and resolution.

Combining unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with through-the-wall radar can realize moving targets detection in complex building scenes. However, clutters generated by obstacles and static objects are always stronger and non-stationary, which results in heavy impacts on moving targets detection. To address this issue, this paper proposes a moving target detection method based on Range-Doppler domain compensation and cancellation for UAV mounted dual channel radar. In the proposed method, phase compensation is performed on the dual channel in range-Doppler domain and then cancellation is utilized to achieve roughly clutters suppression. Next, a filter is constructed based on the cancellation result and the raw echoes, which is used to suppress stationary clutter furthermore. Finally, mismatch imaging is used to focus moving target for detection. Both simulation and UAV-based experiment results are analyzed to verify the efficacy and practicability of the proposed method.

Testing a program's capability to effectively handling errors is a significant challenge, given that program errors are relatively uncommon. To solve this, Software Fault Injection (SFI)-based fuzzing integrates SFI and traditional fuzzing, injecting and triggering errors for testing (error handling) code. However, we observe that current SFI-based fuzzing approaches have overlooked the correlation between paths housing error points. In fact, the execution paths of error points often share common paths. Nonetheless, Fuzzers usually generate test cases repeatedly to test error points on commonly traversed paths. This practice can compromise the efficiency of the fuzzer(s). Thus, this paper introduces HuntFUZZ, a novel SFI-based fuzzing framework that addresses the issue of redundant testing of error points with correlated paths. Specifically, HuntFUZZ clusters these correlated error points and utilizes concolic execution to compute constraints only for common paths within each cluster. By doing so, we provide the fuzzer with efficient test cases to explore related error points with minimal redundancy. We evaluate HuntFUZZ on a diverse set of 42 applications, and HuntFUZZ successfully reveals 162 known bugs, with 62 of them being related to error handling. Additionally, due to its efficient error point detection method, HuntFUZZ discovers 7 unique zero-day bugs, which are all missed by existing fuzzers. Furthermore, we compare HuntFUZZ with 4 existing fuzzing approaches, including AFL, AFL++, AFLGo, and EH-FUZZ. Our evaluation confirms that HuntFUZZ can cover a broader range of error points, and it exhibits better performance in terms of bug finding speed.

Database Management Systems (DBMSs) are vital components in modern data-driven systems. Their complexity often leads to logic bugs, which are implementation errors within the DBMSs that can lead to incorrect query results, data exposure, unauthorized access, etc., without necessarily causing visible system failures. Existing detection employs two strategies: rule-based bug detection and coverage-guided fuzzing. In general, rule specification itself is challenging; as a result, rule-based detection is limited to specific and simple rules. Coverage-guided fuzzing blindly explores code paths or blocks, many of which are unlikely to contain logic bugs; therefore, this strategy is cost-ineffective. In this paper, we design SQLaser, a SQL-clause-guided fuzzer for detecting logic bugs in DBMSs. Through a comprehensive examination of most existing logic bugs across four distinct DBMSs, excluding those causing system crashes, we have identified 35 logic bug patterns. These patterns manifest as certain SQL clause combinations that commonly result in logic bugs, and behind these clause combinations are a sequence of functions. We therefore model logic bug patterns as error-prone function chains (ie, sequences of functions). We further develop a directed fuzzer with a new path-to-path distance-calculation mechanism for effectively testing these chains and discovering additional logic bugs. This mechanism enables SQLaser to swiftly navigate to target sites and uncover potential bugs emerging from these paths. Our evaluation, conducted on SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and TiDB, demonstrates that SQLaser significantly accelerates bug discovery compared to other fuzzing approaches, reducing detection time by approximately 60%.

Instruction-following is particularly crucial for large language models (LLMs) to support diverse user requests. While existing work has made progress in aligning LLMs with human preferences, evaluating their capabilities on instruction following remains a challenge due to complexity and diversity of real-world user instructions. While existing evaluation methods focus on general skills, they suffer from two main shortcomings, i.e., lack of fine-grained task-level evaluation and reliance on singular instruction expression. To address these problems, this paper introduces DINGO, a fine-grained and diverse instruction-following evaluation dataset that has two main advantages: (1) DINGO is based on a manual annotated, fine-grained and multi-level category tree with 130 nodes derived from real-world user requests; (2) DINGO includes diverse instructions, generated by both GPT-4 and human experts. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that DINGO can not only provide more challenging and comprehensive evaluation for LLMs, but also provide task-level fine-grained directions to further improve LLMs.

Individual personalities significantly influence our perceptions, decisions, and social interactions, which is particularly crucial for gaining insights into human behavior patterns in online social network analysis. Many psychological studies have observed that personalities are strongly reflected in their social behaviors and social environments. In light of these problems, this paper proposes a sociological analysis framework for one's personality in an environment-based view instead of individual-level data mining. Specifically, to comprehensively understand an individual's behavior from low-quality records, we leverage the powerful associative ability of LLMs by designing an effective prompt. In this way, LLMs can integrate various scattered information with their external knowledge to generate higher-quality profiles, which can significantly improve the personality analysis performance. To explore the interactive mechanism behind the users and their online environments, we design an effective hypergraph neural network where the hypergraph nodes are users and the hyperedges in the hypergraph are social environments. We offer a useful dataset with user profile data, personality traits, and several detected environments from the real-world social platform. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first network-based dataset containing both hypergraph structure and social information, which could push forward future research in this area further. By employing the framework on this dataset, we can effectively capture the nuances of individual personalities and their online behaviors, leading to a deeper understanding of human interactions in the digital world.

The branching fractions of the two decays $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to γγ)$ and $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to π^+ π^- π^0)$ are measured individually to be $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to γγ)) = (1.480 \pm 0.001 \pm 0.024)\times\,10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to π^+ π^- π^0)) = (1.557 \pm 0.003 \pm 0.038)\times\,10^{-3}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Both results are compatible within their uncorrelated systematic uncertainties. The combined result is $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η)=(1.495 \pm 0.001 \pm 0.023)\times\,10^{-3}$ where the first uncertainty is the combined statistical uncertainty and the second one the combined systematic uncertainty of both analyses, incorporating correlations between them. In addition, the $p \bar{p}$ threshold region is investigated for a potential threshold enhancement, and no evidence for one is observed.

Quantum simulation of synthetic dynamic gauge field has attracted much attentions in recent years. There are two traditional ways to simulate gauge theories. One is to directly simulate the full Hamiltonian of gauge theories with local gauge symmetries. And the other is to engineer the projected Hamiltonian in one gauge subsector. In this work, we provide the third way towards the simulation of gauge theories based on \emph{gauge fixing}. To demonstrate this concept, we fix the gauge of an Ising lattice gauge field coupled with spinless fermions on a ladder geometry. After the gauge fixing, this gauge theory is reduced to a simpler model, in which fermions hop on a ladder with a fluctuating dynamical $\mathbb{Z}_{2}$ flux. Then we shows that this model can be realized via Floquet engineering in ultracold atomic gases. By analytical and numerical studies of this dynamical flux model, we deduce that there is confinement to deconfinement phase transition in the original unfixed gauge theory. This work paves the way to quantum simulate lattice gauge theory using the concept of gauge fixing, relevant both for condensed matter and high energy physics.

Factors, such as rapid relative motion, clutter background, etc., make robust small aerial target detection for airborne infrared detection systems a challenge. Existing methods are facing difficulties when dealing with such cases. We consider that a continuous and smooth trajectory is critical in boosting small infrared aerial target detection performance. A simple and effective small aerial target detection method for airborne infrared detection system using light gradient boosting model (LightGBM) and trajectory constraints is proposed in this article. First, we simply formulate target candidate detection as a binary classification problem. Target candidates in every individual frame are detected via interesting pixel detection and a trained LightGBM model. Then, the local smoothness and global continuous characteristic of the target trajectory are modeled as short-strict and long-loose constraints. The trajectory constraints are used efficiently for detecting the true small infrared aerial targets from numerous target candidates. Experiments on public datasets demonstrate that the proposed method performs better than other existing methods. Furthermore, a public dataset for small aerial target detection in airborne infrared detection systems is constructed. To the best of our knowledge, this dataset has the largest data scale and richest scene types within this field.

The electric vehicle (EV) battery supply chain will face challenges in sourcing scarce, expensive minerals required for manufacturing and in disposing of hazardous retired batteries. Integrating recycling technology into the supply chain has the potential to alleviate these issues; however, players in the battery market must design investment plans for recycling facilities. In this paper, we propose a two-stage stochastic optimization model for computing minimum cost recycling capacity decisions, in which retired batteries are recycled and recovered materials are used to manufacture new batteries. The model is a separable concave minimization subject to linear constraints, a class for which we design a new finitely convergent global optimization algorithm based on piecewise linear approximation that solves up to 10x faster than comparable algorithms. We propose an equivalent reformulation of the model that reduces the total number of variables by introducing integrality constraints. The reformulation can also be solved by our global algorithm with drastically reduced solve times. We detail a cut grouping strategy for Benders' decomposition in the second stage which improves convergence relative to single-cut and multi-cut implementations. To produce a set of second-stage scenarios, we design an approach for generating time-series projections for new battery demand, retired battery supply, and material costs. Analysis of the optimal solutions shows that effective investment in recycling can reduce battery manufacturing costs by 22% and reduce environmental impacts by up to 7%.

The dispatch optimization of coal mine integrated energy system is challenging due to high dimensionality, strong coupling constraints, and multiobjective. Existing constrained multiobjective evolutionary algorithms struggle with locating multiple small and irregular feasible regions, making them inaplicable to this problem. To address this issue, we here develop a multitask evolutionary algorithm framework that incorporates the dispatch correlated domain knowledge to effectively deal with strong constraints and multiobjective optimization. Possible evolutionary multitask construction strategy based on complex constraint relationship analysis and handling, i.e., constraint coupled spatial decomposition, constraint strength classification and constraint handling technique, is first explored. Within the multitask evolutionary optimization framework, two strategies, i.e., an elite guided knowledge transfer by designing a special crowding distance mechanism to select dominant individuals from each task, and an adaptive neighborhood technology based mutation to effectively balance the diversity and convergence of each optimized task for the differential evolution algorithm, are further developed. The performance of the proposed algorithm in feasibility, convergence, and diversity is demonstrated in a case study of a coal mine integrated energy system by comparing with CPLEX solver and seven constrained multiobjective evolutionary algorithms.

Neutrinoless double beta decay is one of the most sensitive probes for new physics beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. One of the isotopes under investigation is $^{136}$Xe, which would double beta decay into $^{136}$Ba. Detecting the single $^{136}$Ba daughter provides a sort of ultimate tool in the discrimination against backgrounds. Previous work demonstrated the ability to perform single atom imaging of Ba atoms in a single-vacancy site of a solid xenon matrix. In this paper, the effort to identify signal from individual barium atoms is extended to Ba atoms in a hexa-vacancy site in the matrix and is achieved despite increased photobleaching in this site. Abrupt fluorescence turn-off of a single Ba atom is also observed. Significant recovery of fluorescence signal lost through photobleaching is demonstrated upon annealing of Ba deposits in the Xe ice. Following annealing, it is observed that Ba atoms in the hexa-vacancy site exhibit antibleaching while Ba atoms in the tetra-vacancy site exhibit bleaching. This may be evidence for a matrix site transfer upon laser excitation. Our findings offer a path of continued research toward tagging of Ba daughters in all significant sites in solid xenon.

We analyze the GeV $γ$-ray emission from the W3 complex using about 14 years of Pass 8 data recorded by the $\it Fermi$ Large Area Telescope (\textit{Fermi}-LAT). We resolve the $γ$-ray emissions around W3 into two components: an elliptical Gaussian overlapping with the molecular gas and a point-like source near the cluster W3 Main. The pion-bump feature of SED for the elliptical Gaussian together with the better fitting result of pion decay model favor the hadronic origin. We further argue that the cosmic rays (CRs) could originate from the interactions between cluster winds and the shock produced by the SNR HB3. The point-like source positionally coincident with the star cluster W3 Main indicates it may be directly powered by near clusters, while its fainter $γ$-ray emissions below 10 GeV is possibly due to the shelter from dense gas making the low-energy CRs incapable of penetrating the dense materials. Meanwhile, we cannot rule out that the $γ$-ray emissions originate from the interaction of accelerated protons in SNR with the ambient gas.

Combining with the known branching fractions of $Λ_c^+ \to pK_{S}^{0}$, $Λ_c^+ \to pK_{S}^{0}π^+π^-$, and $Λ_c^+ \to pK_{S}^{0}π^0$, we present the first measurements of the $K_{S}^{0}$-$K_{L}^{0}$ asymmetries $R(Λ_c^+, K_{S,L}^0X) = \frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \to K_{S}^{0} X) - \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \to K_{L}^{0} X)}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \to K_{S}^{0} X) + \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \to K_{L}^{0} X)}$ in charmed baryon decays: $R(Λ_c^+, pK_{S,L}^0) = -0.025 \pm 0.031$, $R(Λ_c^+, pK_{S,L}^0π^+π^-) = -0.027 \pm 0.048$, and $R(Λ_c^+, pK_{S,L}^0π^0) =-0.015 \pm 0.046$. No significant asymmetries within the uncertainties are observed.

Application Programming Interface (API) incompatibility is a long-standing issue in Android application development. The rapid evolution of Android APIs results in a significant number of API additions, removals, and changes between adjacent versions. Unfortunately, this high frequency of alterations may lead to compatibility issues, often without adequate notification to developers regarding these changes. Although researchers have proposed some work on detecting compatibility issues caused by changes in API signatures, they often overlook compatibility issues stemming from sophisticated semantic changes. In response to this challenge, we conducted a large-scale discovery of incompatible APIs in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) by leveraging static analysis and pre-trained Large Language Models (LLMs) across adjacent versions. We systematically formulate the problem and propose a unified framework to detect incompatible APIs, especially for semantic changes. It's worth highlighting that our approach achieves a 0.83 F1-score in identifying semantically incompatible APIs in the Android framework. Ultimately, our approach detects 5,481 incompatible APIs spanning from version 4 to version 33. We further demonstrate its effectiveness in supplementing the state-of-the-art methods in detecting a broader spectrum of compatibility issues (+92.3%) that have been previously overlooked.

Accurately digitizing physical objects is central to many applications, including virtual/augmented reality, industrial design, and e-commerce. Prior research has demonstrated efficient and faithful reconstruction of objects' geometric shapes and visual appearances, which suffice for digitally representing rigid objects. In comparison, physical properties, such as elasticity and pressure, are also indispensable to the behavioral fidelity of digitized deformable objects. However, existing approaches to acquiring these quantities either rely on invasive specimen collection or expensive/bulky laboratory setups, making them inapplicable to consumer-level usage.
To fill this gap, we propose a wearable and non-invasive computing framework that allows users to conveniently estimate the material elasticity and internal pressure of deformable objects through finger touches. This is achieved by modeling their local surfaces as pressurized elastic shells and analytically deriving the two physical properties from finger-induced wrinkling patterns. Together with photogrammetry-reconstructed geometry and textures, the two estimated physical properties enable us to faithfully replicate the motion and deformation behaviors of several deformable objects. For the pressure estimation, our model achieves a relative error of 3.5%. In the interaction experiments, the virtual-physical deformation discrepancy measures less than 10.1%. Generalization to objects of irregular shape further demonstrates the potential of our approach in practical applications. We envision this work to provide insights for and motivate research toward democratizing the ubiquitous and pervasive digitization of our physical surroundings in daily, industrial, and scientific scenarios.

Neural networks (NNs) have demonstrated strong capabilities of representing high-dimensional, complex functional relations, and hence have been widely used to characterize complex constitutive relations for various types of materials, such as polycrystals, polymers, etc. However, to construct a reliable NN-based constitutive model, a considerable amount of data, i.e. stress-strain states along different loading paths is needed, which can be expensive to collect. To address such challenge, we develop a hybrid finite element method (FEM) - NN optimization framework to learn complex hyperelastic constitutive relations from full-field data. The key advantage of this framework is that it can make use of the non-uniform displacement field due to the geometric inhomogeneities for training NN-based constitutive models. Since such data can provide many different stress-strain states in a single test, it can greatly reduce the number of experiments needed for the training of NNs. Besides, we adopt a mechanics-informed neural network (MINN) as our architecture to ensure that our NN-based models satisfy all necessary physical constraints by construction, such as objectivity, material symmetry, polyconvexity, etc. Such architecture is also key to the convergence of our optimization framework. We then use both synthetic and experimental data to test the performance of our proposed framework on various isotropic hyperelastic materials. Results show that our optimization framework can be used to train NN-based constitutive models for hyperelastic materials with high accuracy and efficiency using data generated from simple tests, which can also be easily adapted to characterize complex constitutive models for a broader range of materials.

The issue of hallucinations is a prevalent concern in existing Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs). Previous efforts have primarily focused on investigating object hallucinations, which can be easily alleviated by introducing object detectors. However, these efforts neglect hallucinations in inter-object relationships, which is essential for visual comprehension. In this work, we introduce R-Bench, a novel benchmark for evaluating Vision Relationship Hallucination. R-Bench features image-level questions that focus on the existence of relationships and instance-level questions that assess local visual comprehension. We identify three types of relationship co-occurrences that lead to hallucinations: relationship-relationship, subject-relationship, and relationship-object. The visual instruction tuning dataset's long-tail distribution significantly impacts LVLMs' understanding of visual relationships. Furthermore, our analysis reveals that current LVLMs tend to disregard visual content and overly rely on the common sense knowledge of Large Language Models. They also struggle with reasoning about spatial relationships based on contextual information.

Probabilistic Hoare logic (PHL) is an extension of Hoare logic and is specifically useful in verifying randomized programs. It allows researchers to formally reason about the behavior of programs with stochastic elements, ensuring the desired probabilistic properties are upheld. The relative completeness of satisfaction-based PHL has been an open problem ever since the birth of the first PHL in 1979. More specifically, no satisfaction-based PHL with While-loop has been proven to be relatively complete yet. This paper solves this problem by establishing a new PHL with While-loop and prove its relative completeness. The programming language concerned in our PHL is expressively equivalent to the existing PHL systems but brings a lot of convenience in showing completeness. The weakest preterm for While-loop command reveals how it changes the probabilistic properties of computer states, considering both execution branches that halt and infinite runs. We prove the relative completeness of our PHL in two steps. We first establish a semantics and proof system of Hoare triples with probabilistic programs and deterministic assertions. Then, by utilizing the weakest precondition of deterministic assertions, we construct the weakest preterm calculus of probabilistic expressions. The relative completeness of our PHL is then obtained as a consequence of the weakest preterm calculus.

We study the impact of top SiO2 interlayer thickness on the memory window (MW) of Si channel ferroelectric field-effect transistor (FeFET) with TiN/SiO2/Hf0.5Zr0.5O2/SiOx/Si (MIFIS) gate structure. We find that the MW increases with the increasing thickness of the top SiO2 interlayer, and such an increase exhibits a two-stage linear dependence. The physical origin is the presence of the different interfacial charges trapped at the top SiO2/Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 interface. Moreover, we investigate the dependence of endurance characteristics on initial MW. We find that the endurance characteristic degrades with increasing the initial MW. By inserting a 3.4 nm SiO2 dielectric interlayer between the gate metal TiN and the ferroelectric Hf0.5Zr0.5O2, we achieve a MW of 6.3 V and retention over 10 years. Our work is helpful in the device design of FeFET.

Characterizing and comparing the optimal energy efficiency in energy-aware machine-to-machine (M2M) random access networks remains a challenge due to the distributed nature of the access behavior of nodes. To address this issue, this letter focuses on the energy efficiency limits of two typical random access schemes, i.e., connection-based Aloha and packet-based Aloha, based on which we conducted a performance comparison. Specifically, by integrating limited energy constraints and network throughput, the lifetime throughput can be derived, and further optimized with a guarantee of targeted lifetime via selecting the transmission probability. Then we present a comparative study on the optimal lifetime throughput of packet-based Aloha and connection-based Aloha to characterize criteria for beneficial connection establishment.

Symmetric submodular maximization is an important class of combinatorial optimization problems, including MAX-CUT on graphs and hyper-graphs. The state-of-the-art algorithm for the problem over general constraints has an approximation ratio of $0.432$. The algorithm applies the canonical continuous greedy technique that involves a sampling process. It, therefore, suffers from high query complexity and is inherently randomized. In this paper, we present several efficient deterministic algorithms for maximizing a symmetric submodular function under various constraints. Specifically, for the cardinality constraint, we design a deterministic algorithm that attains a $0.432$ ratio and uses $O(kn)$ queries. Previously, the best deterministic algorithm attains a $0.385-ε$ ratio and uses $O\left(kn (\frac{10}{9ε})^{\frac{20}{9ε}-1}\right)$ queries. For the matroid constraint, we design a deterministic algorithm that attains a $1/3-ε$ ratio and uses $O(kn\log ε^{-1})$ queries. Previously, the best deterministic algorithm can also attain $1/3-ε$ ratio but it uses much larger $O(ε^{-1}n^4)$ queries. For the packing constraints with a large width, we design a deterministic algorithm that attains a $0.432-ε$ ratio and uses $O(n^2)$ queries. To the best of our knowledge, there is no deterministic algorithm for the constraint previously. The last algorithm can be adapted to attain a $0.432$ ratio for single knapsack constraint using $O(n^4)$ queries. Previously, the best deterministic algorithm attains a $0.316-ε$ ratio and uses $\widetilde{O}(n^3)$ queries.

Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) image restoration has acquired remarkable attention due to its practical demand. In this paper, we construct UHD snow and rain benchmarks, named UHD-Snow and UHD-Rain, to remedy the deficiency in this field. The UHD-Snow/UHD-Rain is established by simulating the physics process of rain/snow into consideration and each benchmark contains 3200 degraded/clear image pairs of 4K resolution. Furthermore, we propose an effective UHD image restoration solution by considering gradient and normal priors in model design thanks to these priors' spatial and detail contributions. Specifically, our method contains two branches: (a) feature fusion and reconstruction branch in high-resolution space and (b) prior feature interaction branch in low-resolution space. The former learns high-resolution features and fuses prior-guided low-resolution features to reconstruct clear images, while the latter utilizes normal and gradient priors to mine useful spatial features and detail features to guide high-resolution recovery better. To better utilize these priors, we introduce single prior feature interaction and dual prior feature interaction, where the former respectively fuses normal and gradient priors with high-resolution features to enhance prior ones, while the latter calculates the similarity between enhanced prior ones and further exploits dual guided filtering to boost the feature interaction of dual priors. We conduct experiments on both new and existing public datasets and demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of our method on UHD image low-light enhancement, UHD image desonwing, and UHD image deraining. Event-based vision has drawn increasing attention due to its unique characteristics, such as high temporal resolution and high dynamic range. It has been used in video super-resolution (VSR) recently to enhance the flow estimation and temporal alignment. Rather than for motion learning, we propose in this paper the first VSR method that utilizes event signals for texture enhancement. Our method, called EvTexture, leverages high-frequency details of events to better recover texture regions in VSR. In our EvTexture, a new texture enhancement branch is presented. We further introduce an iterative texture enhancement module to progressively explore the high-temporal-resolution event information for texture restoration. This allows for gradual refinement of texture regions across multiple iterations, leading to more accurate and rich high-resolution details. Experimental results show that our EvTexture achieves state-of-the-art performance on four datasets. For the Vid4 dataset with rich textures, our method can get up to 4.67dB gain compared with recent event-based methods. Code: https://github.com/DachunKai/EvTexture.

Aero-engine fault prediction aims to accurately predict the development trend of the future state of aero-engines, so as to diagnose faults in advance. Traditional aero-engine parameter prediction methods mainly use the nonlinear mapping relationship of time series data but generally ignore the adequate spatiotemporal features contained in aero-engine data. To this end, we propose a brain-inspired spike echo state network (Spike-ESN) model for aero-engine intelligent fault prediction, which is used to effectively capture the evolution process of aero-engine time series data in the framework of spatiotemporal dynamics. In the proposed approach, we design a spike input layer based on Poisson distribution inspired by the spike neural encoding mechanism of biological neurons, which can extract the useful temporal characteristics in aero-engine sequence data. Then, the temporal characteristics are input into a spike reservoir through the current calculation method of spike accumulation in neurons, which projects the data into a high-dimensional sparse space. In addition, we use the ridge regression method to read out the internal state of the spike reservoir. Finally, the experimental results of aero-engine states prediction demonstrate the superiority and potential of the proposed method.

We present a new method to solve the nuclear density functional theory (DFT) equations using a two-center harmonic oscillator basis, incorporating pairing and Coulomb interactions. The goal is to efficiently determine the fission and fusion configurations in nuclei. The Coulomb exchange terms are evaluated exactly, allowing for a novel approach to neck formation without the Slater approximation, which has been commonly used in space coordinate-based approaches. The new method has been implemented in the code {\sc hfodd}, enabling direct comparison with standard one-center solutions. Counter-narratives, which are direct responses consisting of non-aggressive fact-based arguments, have emerged as a highly effective approach to combat the proliferation of hate speech. Previous methodologies have primarily focused on fine-tuning and post-editing techniques to ensure the fluency of generated contents, while overlooking the critical aspects of individualization and relevance concerning the specific hatred targets, such as LGBT groups, immigrants, etc. This research paper introduces a novel framework based on contrastive optimal transport, which effectively addresses the challenges of maintaining target interaction and promoting diversification in generating counter-narratives. Firstly, an Optimal Transport Kernel (OTK) module is leveraged to incorporate hatred target information in the token representations, in which the comparison pairs are extracted between original and transported features. Secondly, a self-contrastive learning module is employed to address the issue of model degeneration. This module achieves this by generating an anisotropic distribution of token representations. Finally, a target-oriented search method is integrated as an improved decoding strategy to explicitly promote domain relevance and diversification in the inference process. This strategy modifies the model's confidence score by considering both token similarity and target relevance. Quantitative and qualitative experiments have been evaluated on two benchmark datasets, which demonstrate that our proposed model significantly outperforms current methods evaluated by metrics from multiple aspects.

As we push the boundaries of performance in various vision tasks, the models grow in size correspondingly. To keep up with this growth, we need very aggressive pruning techniques for efficient inference and deployment on edge devices. Existing pruning approaches are limited to channel pruning and struggle with aggressive parameter reductions. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-dimensional pruning framework that jointly optimizes pruning across channels, layers, and blocks while adhering to latency constraints. We develop a latency modeling technique that accurately captures model-wide latency variations during pruning, which is crucial for achieving an optimal latency-accuracy trade-offs at high pruning ratio. We reformulate pruning as a Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Program (MINLP) to efficiently determine the optimal pruned structure with only a single pass. Our extensive results demonstrate substantial improvements over previous methods, particularly at large pruning ratios. In 3D object detection, we establish a new state-of-the-art by pruning StreamPETR at a 45% pruning ratio, achieving higher FPS (37.3 vs. 31.7) and mAP (0.451 vs. 0.449) than the dense baseline.

Large-scale point cloud consists of a multitude of individual objects, thereby encompassing rich structural and underlying semantic contextual information, resulting in a challenging problem in efficiently segmenting a point cloud. Most existing researches mainly focus on capturing intricate local features without giving due consideration to global ones, thus failing to leverage semantic context. In this paper, we propose a Similarity-Weighted Convolution and local-global Fusion Network, named SWCF-Net, which takes into account both local and global features. We propose a Similarity-Weighted Convolution (SWConv) to effectively extract local features, where similarity weights are incorporated into the convolution operation to enhance the generalization capabilities. Then, we employ a downsampling operation on the K and V channels within the attention module, thereby reducing the quadratic complexity to linear, enabling the Transformer to deal with large-scale point clouds. At last, orthogonal components are extracted in the global features and then aggregated with local features, thereby eliminating redundant information between local and global features and consequently promoting efficiency. We evaluate SWCF-Net on large-scale outdoor datasets SemanticKITTI and Toronto3D. Our experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed network. Our method achieves a competitive result with less computational cost, and is able to handle large-scale point clouds efficiently.

This paper introduces AnyTrans, an all-encompassing framework for the task-Translate AnyText in the Image (TATI), which includes multilingual text translation and text fusion within images. Our framework leverages the strengths of large-scale models, such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and text-guided diffusion models, to incorporate contextual cues from both textual and visual elements during translation. The few-shot learning capability of LLMs allows for the translation of fragmented texts by considering the overall context. Meanwhile, the advanced inpainting and editing abilities of diffusion models make it possible to fuse translated text seamlessly into the original image while preserving its style and realism. Additionally, our framework can be constructed entirely using open-source models and requires no training, making it highly accessible and easily expandable. To encourage advancement in the TATI task, we have meticulously compiled a test dataset called MTIT6, which consists of multilingual text image translation data from six language pairs.
