Measurement of the branching fraction of $D^+_s\to \ell^+ν_\ell$ via $e^+e^-\to D^{*+}_{s} D^{*-}_{s}$

Abstract: Based on $10.64~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data taken at center-of-mass energies between 4.237 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector, we study the leptonic $D^+_s$ decays using the $e^+e^-\to D^{*+}_{s} D^{*-}_{s}$ process. The branching fractions of $D_s^+\to\ell^+ν_{\ell}\,(\ell=μ,τ)$ are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\toμ^+ν_μ)=(\bfmuv)\%$ and… ▽ More Based on $10.64~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data taken at center-of-mass energies between 4.237 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector, we study the leptonic $D^+_s$ decays using the $e^+e^-\to D^{*+}_{s} D^{*-}_{s}$ process. The product of the decay constant and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ is determined to be $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|=(\mufdsxvcsresult)_{μν}~\mathrm{MeV}$ and $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|=(\taufdsxvcsresult))_{τν}~\mathrm{MeV}$, respectively. Taking the value of $|V_{cs}|$ from a global fit in the Standard Model, we obtain ${f_{D^+_s}}=(\mufdsresult)_{μν}$\,MeV and ${f_{D^+_s}}=(\taufdsresult)_{τν}$\,MeV, respectively. Conversely, taking the value for $f_{D_s^+}$ from the latest lattice quantum chromodynamics calculation, we obtain $|V_{cs}| =(\muvcsresult)_{μν}$ and $|V_{cs}| = (\tauvcsresult)_{τν}$, respectively. △ Less

Tissue-Contrastive Semi-Masked Autoencoders for Segmentation Pretraining on Chest CT

Abstract: Existing Masked Image Modeling (MIM) depends on a spatial patch-based masking-reconstruction strategy to perceive objects'features from unlabeled images, which may face two limitations when applied to chest CT: 1) inefficient feature learning due to complex anatomical details presented in CT images, and 2) suboptimal knowledge transfer owing to input disparity between upstream and downstream model… ▽ More Existing Masked Image Modeling (MIM) depends on a spatial patch-based masking-reconstruction strategy to perceive objects'features from unlabeled images, which may face two limitations when applied to chest CT: 1) inefficient feature learning due to complex anatomical details presented in CT images, and 2) suboptimal knowledge transfer owing to input disparity between upstream and downstream models. To address these issues, we propose a new MIM method named Tissue-Contrastive Semi-Masked Autoencoder (TCS-MAE) for modeling chest CT images. Our method has two novel designs: 1) a tissue-based masking-reconstruction strategy to capture more fine-grained anatomical features, and 2) a dual-AE architecture with contrastive learning between the masked and original image views to bridge the gap of the upstream and downstream models. To validate our method, we systematically investigate representative contrastive, generative, and hybrid self-supervised learning methods on top of tasks involving segmenting pneumonia, mediastinal tumors, and various organs. The results demonstrate that, compared to existing methods, our TCS-MAE more effectively learns tissue-aware representations, thereby significantly enhancing segmentation performance across all tasks. △ Less

Study of the decay and production properties of $D_{s1}(2536)$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)$

Abstract: The $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^-$ and $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ processes are studied using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies from 4.530 to 4.946~GeV. The absolute branching fractions of $D_{s1}(2536)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^{*0}K^-$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^0K^-$ are measured for the first time to be… ▽ More The $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^-$ and $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ processes are studied using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies from 4.530 to 4.946~GeV. The absolute branching fractions of $D_{s1}(2536)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^{*0}K^-$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^0K^-$ are measured for the first time to be $(35.9\pm 4.8\pm 3.5)\%$ and $(37.4\pm 3.1\pm 4.6)\%$, respectively. The measurements are in tension with predictions based on the assumption that the $D_{s1}(2536)$ and $D_{s2}^*(2573)$ are dominated by a bare $c\bar{s}$ component. The $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^-$ and $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ cross sections are measured, and a resonant structure at around 4.6~GeV with a width of 50~MeV is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $15σ$ in the $e^+e^-\rightarrow D_s^+D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ process. It could be the $Y(4626)$ found by the Belle collaboration in the $D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^{-}$ final state, since they have similar masses and widths. Cheshire qudits from fractional quantum spin Hall states in twisted MoTe$_2$

Abstract: Twisted MoTe$_2$ homobilayers exhibit transport signatures consistent with a fractional quantum spin Hall (FQSH) state. We describe a route to construct topological quantum memory elements, dubbed Cheshire qudits, formed from punching holes in such a FQSH state and using proximity-induced superconductivity to gap out the resulting helical edge states. Cheshire qudits encode quantum information in… ▽ More Twisted MoTe$_2$ homobilayers exhibit transport signatures consistent with a fractional quantum spin Hall (FQSH) state. Cheshire qudits encode quantum information in states that differ by a fractional topological "Cheshire" charge that is hidden from local detection within a condensate anyons. Control of inter-edge tunneling by gates enables both supercurrent-based readout of a Cheshire qudit, and capacitive measurement of the thermal entropy associated with its topological ground-space degeneracy. Additionally, we systematically classify different types of gapped boundaries, Cheshire qudits, and parafermionic twist defects for various Abelian and non-Abelian candidate FQSH orders that are consistent with the transport data, and describe experimental signatures to distinguish these orders. △ Less

The branching fractions of the two decays $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to γγ)$ and $J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to π^+ π^- π^0)$ are measured individually to be $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to γγ)) = (1.480 \pm 0.001 \pm 0.024)\times\,10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η(η\to π^+ π^- π^0)) = (1.557 \pm 0.003 \pm 0.038)\times\,10^{-3}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Both results are compatible within their uncorrelated systematic uncertainties. The combined result is $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p \bar{p} η)=(1.495 \pm 0.001 \pm 0.023)\times\,10^{-3}$ where the first uncertainty is the combined statistical uncertainty and the second one the combined systematic uncertainty of both analyses, incorporating correlations between them. In addition, the $p \bar{p}$ threshold region is investigated for a potential threshold enhancement, and no evidence for one is observed. △ Less

Linear Relativistic Corrections in the Spherical Fourier-Bessel Power Spectrum

In this work, we calculate the linear-order relativistic power spectrum in the spherical Fourier-Bessel (SFB) basis, a coordinate system that preserves the… ▽ More The three-dimensional galaxy power spectrum is a powerful probe of primordial non-Gaussianity and additional general relativistic (GR) effects on large scales, which can be constrained by the current and upcoming large-scale structure surveys. In this work, we calculate the linear-order relativistic power spectrum in the spherical Fourier-Bessel (SFB) basis, a coordinate system that preserves the geometry of the curved sky and fully accounts for the wide-angle effect. In particular, we model the GR effects present in the discrete SFB power spectrum, which is a more efficient and stable decomposition of the galaxy density field compared to the continuous SFB basis in the presence of radial windows. To validate our GR calculations, we introduce a mapping between the angular power spectrum and the SFB power spectrum, and we compare our calculations with outputs from CLASS. We discuss the rich pattern of GR effects in the SFB basis and compare the GR effects to the local primordial non-Gaussianity (PNG) effect. The Doppler and lensing effects have different angular and Fourier dependence compared to the PNG in the SFB basis, while the gravitational potential term is more degenerate with the PNG and comparable to a signal of $f_{\rm NL}\sim 1$. We also discuss the potential opportunities of extracting the lensing effect through SFB modes in upcoming LSS surveys. △ Less

Search for the $e^+e^- \to φχ_{c1}(3872)$ process at BESIII

Abstract: Using a sample of $(10087\pm 44)\times10^{6}$ $J/ψ$ events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we search for the decay $X(1870)\to K^+ K^-η$ via the $J/ψ\to ωK^+ K^- η$ process for the first time. No significant $X(1870)$ signal is observed. Abstract: Based on $2.7 \times 10^9~ψ(3686)$ decays collected with the BESIII detector, the radiative decay $ψ(3686)\to\gamma2(π^{+}π^{-})η$ is investigated to measure properties of S- and P-wave charmonium states. The branching fraction of the decay $η_{c}(1S) \to 2(π^{+}π^{-})η$, which is found to have a strong dependence on the interference pattern between $η_c(1S)$ and non-$η_c(1S)$ processes, is measur… ▽ More Based on $2.7 \times 10^9~ψ(3686)$ decays collected with the BESIII detector, the radiative decay $ψ(3686)\to\gamma2(π^{+}π^{-})η$ is investigated to measure properties of S- and P-wave charmonium states. The branching fraction of the decay $η_{c}(1S) \to 2(π^{+}π^{-})η$, which is found to have a strong dependence on the interference pattern between $η_c(1S)$ and non-$η_c(1S)$ processes, is measured in both destructive and constructive interference scenarios for the first time. The mass and width of the $η_{c}(1S)$ are measured to be $M=(2984.14 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.38)$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $Γ=(28.82 \pm 0.11 \pm 0.82)$ MeV, respectively. Clear signals for the decays of the $χ_{cJ}(J=0,1,2)$ and the $η_{c}(2S)$ to $2(π^{+}π^{-})η$ are also observed for the first time, and the corresponding branching fractions are measured. The ratio of the branching fractions between the $η_{c}(2S)$ and $η_{c}(1S)$ decays is significantly lower than the theoretical prediction, which might suggest different dynamics in their decays. △ Less

Abstract: Large language model systems face important security risks from maliciously crafted messages that aim to overwrite the system's original instructions or leak private data. To study this problem, we organized a capture-the-flag competition at IEEE SaTML 2024, where the flag is a secret string in the LLM system prompt. The competition was organized in two phases. Notably, we found that all defenses were bypassed at least once, highlighting the difficulty of designing a successful defense and the necessity for additional research to protect LLM systems. The $h_c \to π^+ π^- π^0$ decay is observed with a significance of 9.6$σ$ after taking into account systematic uncertainties. The hadronic transition form factors $D^+_s\to ηe^+ν_e$, $D^+_s\to η^\prime e^+ν_e$, and $D^+_s\to K^0 e^+ν_e$ at four-momentum transfer squared $q^2$ = 0 are determined to be $f^η_+(0) = 0.482 \pm 0.011_{\rm stat} \pm 0.009_{\rm syst}\pm0.004_{\rm input},$ $f^{η^{\prime}}_+(0) = 0.562 \pm 0.031_{\rm stat} \pm 0.014_{\rm syst}\pm0.003_{\rm input},$ and $f^{K^0}_+(0) = 0.624 \pm 0.052_{\rm stat} \pm 0.013_{\rm syst}\pm0.002_{\rm input}.$ △ Less

The ratio $R_{h_c}=\frac{\mathscr{B}(h_c\rightarrowγη)}{\mathscr{B}(h_c\rightarrowγη^\prime)}$ is calculated to be $(27.0\pm4.4\pm1.0)\%$. The measurements are consistent with the previous results with improved precision by a factor of 2. The results are valuable for gaining a deeper understanding of $η-η^\prime$ mixing, and its manifestation within quantum chromodynamics. No significant signal is found for the decay $h_c\rightarrowγπ^{0}$, and an upper limit is placed on its branching fraction of $\mathscr{B}(h_c\rightarrowγπ^{0})<5.0\times10^{-5}$, at the 90\% confidence level. △ Less

Adaptive filters require an auxiliary structure, typically much larger than the main filter and often residing on slow storage, to facilitate adaptation. Secondly, the sub-optimal design of the auxiliary structure results in adaptivity overheads so substantial that they can actually diminish the overall system performance compared to a traditional filter. In this paper, we design and implement AdaptiveQF, the first practical adaptive filter with minimal adaptivity overhead and strong adaptivity guarantees, which means that the performance and false-positive guarantees continue to hold even for adversarial workloads. The AdaptiveQF is based on the state-of-the-art quotient filter design and preserves all the critical features of the quotient filter such as cache efficiency and mergeability. Furthermore, we employ a new auxiliary structure design which results in considerably low adaptivity overhead and makes the AdaptiveQF practical in real systems. △ Less

Topological holography is conjectured to capture the topological aspects of symmetry in gapped and gapless systems, with different phases corresponding to different gapped boundaries (anyon condensations) of the SymTFT. This correspondence was previously considered primarily for bosonic systems, excluding many phases of condensed matter systems involving fermionic electrons. In this work, we extend the SymTFT framework to establish a topological holography correspondence for fermionic systems. We demonstrate that this fermionic SymTFT framework captures the known properties of $1+1D$ fermion gapped phases and critical points, including the classification, edge-modes, and stacking rules of fermionic symmetry-protected topological phases (SPTs), and computation of partition functions of fermionic conformal field theories (CFTs). Beyond merely reproducing known properties, we show that the SymTFT approach can additionally serve as a practical tool for discovering new physics, and use this framework to construct a new example of a fermionic intrinsically gapless SPT phase characterized by an emergent fermionic anomaly. △ Less

PWEXP: An R Package Using Piecewise Exponential Model for Study Design and Event/Timeline Prediction

However, violation of distribution assumptions can introduce biases in sample size and power calculations. Piecewise exponential (PWE) hazard model partitions the hazard function into segments each with constant hazards and is easy for interpretation and computation. Piecewise exponential (PWE) hazard model partitions the hazard function into segments each with constant hazards and is easy for interpretation and computation. Due to its piecewise property, PWE can fit a wide range of survival curves and accurately predict the future number of events and analysis time in event-driven clinical trials, thus enabling more flexible and reliable study designs. Compared with other existing approaches, the PWE model provides a superior balance of flexibility and robustness in model fitting and prediction. The proposed PWEXP package is designed for estimating and predicting PWE hazard models for right-censored data. By utilizing well-established criteria such as AIC, BIC, and cross-validation log-likelihood, the PWEXP package chooses the optimal number of change-points and determines the optimal position of change-points. With its particular goodness-of-fit, the PWEXP provides accurate and robust hazard estimation, which can be used for reliable power calculation at study design and timeline prediction at study conduct. With the $e^+e^-\toωX(3872)$ process, the branching fraction ratio $R\equiv\frac{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\toγJ/ψ)}{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\toπ^+π^- J/ψ)}$ is measured to be $0.38\pm0.20_\text{stat.}\pm0.01_\text{syst.}$ ($R< 0.83$ at 90\% confidence level). In addition, we measure the ratio of the average cross section of $e^+e^-\toωX(3872)$ to $e^+e^-\toωχ_{c1}(ωχ_{c2})$ to be $σ_{ωX(3872)}/σ_{ωχ_{c1}}~(σ_{ωX(3872)}/σ_{ωχ_{c2}})=5.2\pm1.0_\text{stat.}\pm1.9_\text{syst.}~ (5.5\pm1.1_\text{stat.}\pm2.4_\text{syst.})$. Finally, we search for the process of $e^+e^-\toγX(3872)$, and no obvious signal is observed. Abstract: We report the first amplitude analysis of the decays $D^{0} \to π^{+} π^{-} η$ and $D^{+} \rightarrow π^{+}π^{0}η$ using a data sample taken with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.9 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$. The contribution from the process $D^{0(+)} \to a_{0}(980)^{+} π^{-(0)}$ is significantly larger than the… ▽ More We report the first amplitude analysis of the decays $D^{0} \to π^{+} π^{-} η$ and $D^{+} \rightarrow π^{+}π^{0}η$ using a data sample taken with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.9 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$. The contribution from the process $D^{0(+)} \to a_{0}(980)^{+} π^{-(0)}$ is significantly larger than the $D^{0(+)} \to a_{0}(980)^{-(0)} π^{+}$ contribution. The ratios $\mathcal{B}(D^{0} \rightarrow a_{0}(980)^{+}π^{-})/\mathcal{B}(D^{0} \rightarrow a_{0}(980)^{-}π^{+})$ and $\mathcal{B}(D^{+} \rightarrow a_{0}(980)^{+}π^{0})/\mathcal{B}(D^{+} \rightarrow a_{0}(980)^{0}π^{+})$ are measured to be $7.5^{+2.5}_{-0.8\,\mathrm{stat.}}\pm1.7_{\mathrm{syst.}}$ and $2.6\pm0.6_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm0.3_{\mathrm{syst.}}$, respectively. The measured $D^{0}$ ratio disagrees with the theoretical predictions by orders of magnitudes, thus implying a substantial contribution from final-state interactions. △ Less

By requiring the $e^{+}e^{-}$ invariant mass to be consistent with a $φ(1020)$, $0.98<M(e^{+}e^{-})<1.04$ ~GeV/$c^2$, the decay… ▽ More Using 7.33~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies in the range of $\sqrt{s}=4.128 - 4.226$~GeV, we search for the rare decays $D_{s}^+\to h^+(h^{0})e^{+}e^{-}$, where $h$ represents a kaon or pion. By requiring the $e^{+}e^{-}$ invariant mass to be consistent with a $φ(1020)$, $0.98<M(e^{+}e^{-})<1.04$ ~GeV/$c^2$, the decay $D_s^+\toπ^+φ,φ\to e^{+}e^{-}$ is observed with a statistical significance of 7.8$σ$, and evidence for the decay $D_s^+\toρ^+φ,φ\to e^{+}e^{-}$ is found for the first time with a statistical significance of 4.4$σ$. The decay branching fractions are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\toπ^+φ, φ\to e^{+}e^{-} )=(1.17^{+0.23}_{-0.21}\pm0.03)\times 10^{-5}$, and $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\toρ^+φ, φ\to e^{+}e^{-} )=(2.44^{+0.67}_{-0.62}\pm 0.16)\times 10^{-5}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. No significant signal for the three four-body decays of $D_{s}^{+}\to π^{+}π^{0}e^{+}e^{-},\ D_{s}^{+}\to K^{+}π^{0}e^{+}e^{-}$, and $D_{s}^{+}\to K_{S}^{0}π^{+}e^{+}e^{-}$ is observed. For $D_{s}^{+}\to π^{+}π^{0}e^{+}e^{-}$, the $φ$ mass region is vetoed to minimize the long-distance effects. The 90$\%$ confidence level upper limits set on the branching fractions of these decays are in the range of $(7.0-8.1)\times 10^{-5}$. △ Less

Exact Modeling of Power Spectrum Multipole through Spherical Fourier-Bessel Basis

In this work, we accurately model WA and Doppler effects using the spherical Fourier-Bessel (SFB) formalism, before transforming the result into the commonly used power spectrum multipoles (PSM). This mapping from the SFB power spectrum to PSM represents a new way to non-perturbatively model WA and GR effects present in the PSM, which we validate with log-normal mocks. Moreover, for the first time, we can compute the analytical PSM Gaussian covariance on large scales, exactly including WA-induced mode-couplings, without resorting to any plane-parallel approximations. △ Less

No statistically s… ▽ More Six $C$-even states, denoted as $X$, with quantum numbers $J^{PC}=0^{-+}$, $1^{\pm+}$, or $2^{\pm+}$, are searched for via the $e^+e^-\toγD_{s}^{\pm}D_{s}^{*\mp}$ process using $(1667.39\pm8.84)~\mathrm{pb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring at center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=(4681.92\pm0.30)~\mathrm{MeV}$. No statistically significant signal is observed in the mass range from $4.08$ to $4.32~\mathrm{GeV}/c^{2}$. However, prior techniques struggled to optimally fuse PAN and MS images for enhanced spatial and spectral information, due to a lack of a systematic framework capable of effectively coordinating their individual strengths. In response, we present the Cross Modulation Transformer (CMT), a pioneering method that modifies the attention mechanism. This approach utilizes a robust modulation technique from signal processing, integrating it into the attention mechanism's calculations. It dynamically tunes the weights of the carrier's value (V) matrix according to the modulator's features, thus resolving historical challenges and achieving a seamless integration of spatial and spectral attributes. Furthermore, considering that RSI exhibits large-scale features and edge details along with local textures, we crafted a hybrid loss function that combines Fourier and wavelet transforms to effectively capture these characteristics, thereby enhancing both spatial and spectral accuracy in pansharpening. This interface boosts the proliferation of machine learning based applications, while on the other hand, it introduces the attack surface for model stealing attacks. Existing model stealing attacks have relaxed their attack assumptions to the data-free setting, while keeping the effectiveness. However, these methods are complex and consist of several components, which obscure the core on which the attack really depends. In this paper, we revisit the model stealing problem from a diversity perspective and demonstrate that keeping the generated data samples more diverse across all the classes is the critical point for improving the attack performance. Based on this conjecture, we provide a simplified attack framework. We empirically signify our conjecture by evaluating the effectiveness of our attack, and experimental results show that our approach is able to achieve comparable or even better performance compared with the state-of-the-art method. Furthermore, benefiting from the absence of redundant components, our method demonstrates its advantages in attack efficiency and query budget. △ Less

Abstract: We report a first study of the semileptonic decay $D^0\rightarrow K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ by analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The absolute branching fraction of $D^0\to K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ is measured for the first time to be $(0.729 \pm 0.014_{\rm stat} \pm 0.011_{\rm syst})\%$. Based on an a… ▽ More We report a first study of the semileptonic decay $D^0\rightarrow K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ by analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The absolute branching fraction of $D^0\to K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ is measured for the first time to be $(0.729 \pm 0.014_{\rm stat} \pm 0.011_{\rm syst})\%$. Based on an amplitude analysis, the $S\text{-}{\rm wave}$ contribution is determined to be $(5.76 \pm 0.35_{\rm stat} \pm 0.29_{\rm syst})\%$ of the total decay rate in addition to the dominated $K^{*}(892)^-$ component. The branching fraction of $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ is given to be $(2.062 \pm 0.039_{\rm stat} \pm 0.032_{\rm syst})\%$, which improves the precision of the world average by a factor of 5. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)$, the ratio of the branching fractions obtained is $\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)} = 0.96\pm0.08$, in agreement with lepton flavor universality. Furthermore, assuming single-pole dominance parameterization, the most precise hadronic form factor ratios for $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^{-} μ^+ν_μ$ are extracted to be $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.37 \pm 0.09_{\rm stat} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst}$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.76 \pm 0.06_{\rm stat} \pm 0.02_{\rm syst}$. △ Less

This set of MGRSs is generated using the dark matter subhalos extracted from a high-resolution Jiutian $N$-body simulation of the standard $Λ$CDM cosmogony with… ▽ More In this paper, we set out to construct a set of reference mock galaxy redshift surveys (MGRSs) for the future Chinese Space-station Survey Telescope (CSST) observation, where subsequent survey selection effects can be added and evaluated. This set of MGRSs is generated using the dark matter subhalos extracted from a high-resolution Jiutian $N$-body simulation of the standard $Λ$CDM cosmogony with $Ω_m=0.3111$, $Ω_Λ=0.6889$, and $σ_8=0.8102$. The simulation has a boxsize of $1~h^{-1} {\rm Gpc}$, and consists of $6144^3$ particles with mass resolution $3.723 \times 10^{8} h^{-1} M_\odot $. In order to take into account the effect of redshift evolution, we first use all 128 snapshots in the Jiutian simulation to generate a light-cone halo/subhalo catalog. Next, galaxy luminosities are assigned to the main and subhalo populations using the subhalo abundance matching (SHAM) method with the DESI $z$-band luminosity functions at different redshifts. Multi-band photometries, as well as images, are then assigned to each mock galaxy using a 3-dimensional parameter space nearest neighbor sampling of the DESI LS observational galaxies and groups. Finally, the CSST and DESI LS survey geometry and magnitude limit cuts are applied to generate the required MGRSs. As we have checked, this set of MGRSs can generally reproduce the observed galaxy luminosity/mass functions within 0.1 dex for galaxies with $L > 10^8 L_\odot$ (or $M_* > 10^{8.5} M_\odot$) and within 1-$σ$ level for galaxies with $L < 10^8L_\odot$ (or $M_* < 10^{8.5} M_\odot$). Together with the CSST slitless spectra and redshifts for our DESI LS seed galaxies that are under construction, we will set out to test various slitless observational selection effects in subsequent probes. △ Less

Estimates on the convergence of expansions at finite baryon chemical potentials

Abstract: Convergence of three different expansion schemes at finite baryon chemical potentials, including the conventional Taylor expansion, the Padé approximants, and the $T'$ expansion proposed recently in lattice QCD simulations, have been investigated in a low energy effective theory within the fRG approach. The uncertainty is systematic and the statistical uncertainty is negligible. Magnetic catalysis and diamagnetism from pion fluctuations

Abstract: In the framework of Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model beyond mean field approximation, the effects of pion fluctuations on (inverse) magnetic catalysis and magnetic susceptibility are studied. The negative magnetic susceptibility at low temperature is observed when contributions from both neutral and charged pions are taken into account. In weak field approximation, it is observed that at finite temperatu… ▽ More In the framework of Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model beyond mean field approximation, the effects of pion fluctuations on (inverse) magnetic catalysis and magnetic susceptibility are studied. The negative magnetic susceptibility at low temperature is observed when contributions from both neutral and charged pions are taken into account. In weak field approximation, it is observed that at finite temperature, the magnetic inhibition effect in the chiral limit, resulting from the difference between the transverse and longitudinal velocities of neutral pions, converts to weak magnetic catalysis when considering a non-zero current quark mass. Moreover, the magnetic catalysis is amplified by the charged pions. △ Less

Chiral phase transition and spin alignment of vector meson in the Polarized-Polyakov-loop Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model under rotation

The influence of hadronic rescatterings on the net-baryon number fluctuations

Abstract: Fluctuations of conserved charges, such as the net-baryon number fluctuations, are influenced by different dynamical evolution processes. In this paper, we investigate the influence of hadronic rescatterings on different orders of cumulants of the net-baryon number distribution. At the start of hadronic rescatterings, we introduce net-baryon number distributions reconstructed based on net-baryon c… ▽ More Fluctuations of conserved charges, such as the net-baryon number fluctuations, are influenced by different dynamical evolution processes. In this paper, we investigate the influence of hadronic rescatterings on different orders of cumulants of the net-baryon number distribution. At the start of hadronic rescatterings, we introduce net-baryon number distributions reconstructed based on net-baryon cumulants of different orders obtained from computation in functional renormalization group (FRG), where the distributions were constructed using the maximum entropy method. This way we introduce the critical fluctuations of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) into the AMPT model. Firstly, we find that hadronic rescatterings have distinct effects on cumulant ratios of different orders for the net-baryon number. Secondly, we observe that the effect of hadronic rescatterings is more significant for critical fluctuations than dynamical fluctuations, because the two-, three- and four-particle correlation functions due to critical fluctuations are weakened more significantly by hadronic rescatterings. △ Less
