With the global spread and increasing transmission rate of SARS-CoV-2, more and more laboratories and researchers are turning their attention to wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE), hoping it can become an effective tool for large-scale testing and provide more ac-curate predictions of the number of infected individuals. Based on the cases of sewage sampling and testing in some regions such as Hong Kong, Brazil, and the United States, the feasibility of detecting the novel coronavirus in sewage is extremely high. This study re-views domestic and international achievements in detecting SARS-CoV-2 through WBE and summarizes four aspects of COVID-19, including sampling methods, virus decay rate cal-culation, standardized population coverage of the watershed, algorithm prediction, and provides ideas for combining field modeling with epidemic prevention and control. Moreover, we highlighted some diagnostic techniques for detection of the virus from sew-age sample. Our review is a new approach in identification of the research gaps in waste water-based epidemiology and diagnosis and we also predict the future prospect of our analysis.

We report the measurement of the cross sections for $e^+e^-\rightarrow {\rm hadrons}$ at center-of-mass (c.m.) energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV. We observe a new resonance $\mathcal R(3810)$ in the cross sections for the first time, and observe the $\mathcal R(3760)$ resonance with high significance in the cross sections. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ has a mass of $(3804.5 \pm 0.9 \pm 0.9)$ ~MeV/$c^2$, a total width of $(5.4 \pm 3.5 \pm 3.2)$~MeV, and an electronic partial width of $(19.4 \pm 7.4 \pm 12.1)$~eV. Its significance is $7.7σ$. The $\mathcal R(3810)$ could be interpreted as a hadro-charmonium resonance predicted by Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). In addition, we measure the mass $(3751.9\pm 3.8\pm 2.8)$ ~MeV/$c^2$, the total width $(32.8 \pm 5.8 \pm 8.7)$~MeV, and the electronic partial width $(184\pm 75\pm 86)$~eV with improved precision for the $\mathcal R(3760)$. Furthermore, for the $\mathcal R(3780)$ we measure the mass $(3778.7\pm 0.5\pm 0.3)$ ~MeV/$c^2$ and total width $(20.3 \pm 0.8 \pm 1.7)$~MeV with improved precision, and the electronic partial width $(265\pm 69\pm 83)$~eV. The $\mathcal R(3780)$ can be interpreted as the $1^3D_1$ state of charmonium. Its mass and total width differ significantly from the corresponding fitted values given by the Particle Data Group in 2022 by 7.1 and 3.2 times the uncertainties for $ψ(3770)$, respectively. $ψ(3770)$ has been interpreted as the $1^3D_1$ state for 45 years.

We present cross sections for the reaction $e^+e^-\to K_S^0K_L^0$ at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.51 GeV to 4.95 GeV using data samples collected in the BESIII experiment, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 26.5 fb$^{-1}$. The ratio of neutral-to-charged kaon form factors at large momentum transfers ($12~{\rm GeV}^2<Q^2<25~{\rm GeV}^2$) is determined to be $0.21\pm 0.01$, which indicates a small but significant effect of flavor-SU(3) breaking in the kaon wave function, and consequently excludes the possibility that flavor-SU(3) breaking is the primary reason for the strong experimental violation of the pQCD prediction $|F(π^{\pm})|/|F(K^{\pm})|=f^2_π/f^2_{K}$, where $F(π^{\pm})$ and $F(K^{\pm})$ are the form factors, and $f_π$ and $f_{K}$ are the decay constants of charged pions and kaons, respectively. We also observe a significant signal for the charmless decay $ψ(3770)\to K_S^0K_L^0$ for the first time. Within a $1σ$ contour of the likelihood value, the the branching fraction for $ψ(3770)\to K_S^0K_L^0$ is determined to be ${\cal B}=(2.63_{-1.59}^{+1.40})\times 10^{-5}$, and the relative phase between the continuum and $ψ(3770)$ amplitudes is $φ=(-0.39_{-0.10}^{+0.05})π$. The branching fraction is in good agreement with the $\mathcal{S}$- and $\mathcal{D}$-wave charmonia mixing scheme proposed in the interpretation of the "$ρπ$ puzzle" between $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ decays.

Non-zero cross sections are observed very close to the production threshold. The measured Born cross sections of $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2625)^- + \rm{c.c.}$ are about $2\sim3$ times greater than those of $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2595)^- + \rm{c.c.}$, thereby indicating that the exotic structure potentially exists in the excited charmed baryons. The Born cross sections are $15.6\pm3.1\pm0.9$ pb and $29.4\pm3.7\pm2.7$ pb for $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2595)^- + \rm{c.c.}$, and are $43.4\pm4.0\pm4.1$ pb and $76.8\pm6.5\pm4.2$ pb for $e^+e^-\to Λ_{c}^+ \barΛ_{c}(2625)^- +\rm{c.c.}$ at $\sqrt s=4918.0$ and 4950.9 MeV, respectively. Ferroelectric fluorite dioxides like hafnium (HfO2)-based materials are considered to be one of the most potential candidates for nowadays large-scale integrated-circuits (ICs). While zirconia (ZrO2)-based fluorites materials, which has the same structure as HfO2 and more abundant resources and lower cost of raw materials, is usually thought to be anti- or ferroelectric-like. Here we reported a giant ferroelectric remnant polarization (Pr) amounted to 53 μC/cm2 in orthorhombic ZrO2 thin film at room temperature. This ferroelectricity arises from an electric field induced anti-ferroelectric to ferroelectric phase transition which is particularly noticeable at 77 K. Our work reveals the intrinsic ferroelectricity in ZrO2 thin films and offers a new pathway to understand the ferroelectricity origin in fluorite oxides.

Cross-modal noise-robust learning is a challenging task since noisy correspondence is hard to recognize and rectify. Due to the cumulative and unavoidable negative impact of unresolved noise, existing methods cannot maintain a stable performance when the noise increases. In this paper, we present a novel Negative Pre-aware Cross-modal (NPC) matching solution for large visual-language model fine-tuning on noisy downstream tasks. It is featured in two aspects: (1) For noise recognition and resistance, previous methods usually directly filter out a noise subset, we propose to estimate the negative impact of each sample. It does not need additional correction mechanisms that may predict unreliable correction results, leading to self-reinforcing error. We assign a confidence weight to each sample according to its negative impact in the training process. This adaptively adjusts the contribution of each sample to avoid noisy accumulation. (2) For maintaining stable performance with increasing noise, we utilize the memorization effect of DNNs by maintaining a memory bank. Specifically, we apply GMM to select high-confident clean samples as the memory entry, where the memory entry is used to estimate the negative impact of each sample. Since clean samples are easier distinguished by GMM with increasing noise, the memory bank can still maintain high quality at a high noise ratio. Compared to the correction mechanism focusing on noise samples, memory bank-based estimation is more robust, which makes the model performance stable on noisy datasets. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method significantly improves matching accuracy and performance stability at increasing noise ratio. Our approach also surpasses the state-of-the-art methods by a large margin. The code is available at: https://github.com/ZhangXu0963/NPC.

The statistical significance of the $X(2370)$ is greater than $11.7σ$ and the spin-parity is determined to be $0^{-+}$ for the first time. The measured mass and spin-parity of the $X(2370)$ are consistent with the predictions of the lightest pseudoscalar glueball.

The fit fractions of individual components are obtained, and large interferences among the dominant components of $D^{0}\to a_{1}(1260)π$, $D^{0}\toπ(1300)π$, $D^{0}\toρ(770)ρ(770)$ and $D^{0}\to2(ππ)_{S}$ are found in both channels. With the obtained amplitude model, the $CP$-even fractions of $D^0\to π^+π^-π^+π^-$ and $D^0\toπ^+π^-π^0π^0$(non-$η$) are determined to be $(75.2\pm1.1_{\rm stat.}\pm1.5_{\rm syst.})\%$ and $(68.9\pm1.5_{\rm stat.}\pm 2.4_{\rm syst.})\%$, respectively. The branching fractions of $D^0\to π^+π^-π^+π^-$ and $D^0\toπ^+π^-π^0π^0$(non-$η$) are measured to be $(0.688\pm0.010_{\rm stat.}\pm 0.010_{\rm syst.})\%$ and $(0.951\pm0.025_{\rm stat.}\pm 0.021_{\rm syst.})\%$, respectively. The amplitude analysis provides an important model for binning strategy in the measurements of the strong phase parameters of $D^0 \to 4π$ when used to determine the CKM angle $γ(φ_{3})$ via the $B^{-}\to D K^{-}$ decay.

Traditional steganographic techniques have often relied on manually crafted attributes related to image residuals. These methods demand a significant level of expertise and face challenges in integrating diverse image residual characteristics. In this paper, we introduce an innovative deep learning-based methodology that seamlessly integrates image residuals, residual distances, and image local variance to autonomously learn embedding probabilities. Our framework includes an embedding probability generator and three pivotal guiding components: Residual guidance strives to facilitate embedding in complex-textured areas. Residual distance guidance aims to minimize the residual differences between cover and stego images. Local variance guidance effectively safeguards against modifications in regions characterized by uncomplicated or uniform textures. The three components collectively guide the learning process, enhancing the security performance. Comprehensive experimental findings underscore the superiority of our approach when compared to traditional steganographic methods and randomly initialized ReLOAD in the spatial domain.

The recent Gaussian Splatting achieves high-quality and real-time novel-view synthesis of the 3D scenes. However, it is solely concentrated on the appearance and geometry modeling, while lacking in fine-grained object-level scene understanding. To address this issue, we propose Gaussian Grouping, which extends Gaussian Splatting to jointly reconstruct and segment anything in open-world 3D scenes. We augment each Gaussian with a compact Identity Encoding, allowing the Gaussians to be grouped according to their object instance or stuff membership in the 3D scene. Instead of resorting to expensive 3D labels, we supervise the Identity Encodings during the differentiable rendering by leveraging the 2D mask predictions by Segment Anything Model (SAM), along with introduced 3D spatial consistency regularization. Compared to the implicit NeRF representation, we show that the discrete and grouped 3D Gaussians can reconstruct, segment and edit anything in 3D with high visual quality, fine granularity and efficiency. Based on Gaussian Grouping, we further propose a local Gaussian Editing scheme, which shows efficacy in versatile scene editing applications, including 3D object removal, inpainting, colorization, style transfer and scene recomposition. Our code and models are at https://github.com/lkeab/gaussian-grouping.

Existing long video retrieval systems are trained and tested in the paragraph-to-video retrieval regime, where every long video is described by a single long paragraph. This neglects the richness and variety of possible valid descriptions of a video, which could be described in moment-by-moment detail, or in a single phrase summary, or anything in between. To provide a more thorough evaluation of the capabilities of long video retrieval systems, we propose a pipeline that leverages state-of-the-art large language models to carefully generate a diverse set of synthetic captions for long videos. We validate this pipeline's fidelity via rigorous human inspection. We then benchmark a representative set of video language models on these synthetic captions using a few long video datasets, showing that they struggle with the transformed data, especially the shortest captions. We also propose a lightweight fine-tuning method, where we use a contrastive loss to learn a hierarchical embedding loss based on the differing levels of information among the various captions. Our method improves performance both on the downstream paragraph-to-video retrieval task (+1.1% R@1 on ActivityNet), as well as for the various long video retrieval metrics we compute using our synthetic data (+3.6% R@1 for short descriptions on ActivityNet). Source-Free Domain Adaptation (SFDA) aims to adapt a source model for a target domain, with only access to unlabeled target training data and the source model pre-trained on a supervised source domain. Relying on pseudo labeling and/or auxiliary supervision, conventional methods are inevitably error-prone. To mitigate this limitation, in this work we for the first time explore the potentials of off-the-shelf vision-language (ViL) multimodal models (e.g.,CLIP) with rich whilst heterogeneous knowledge. We find that directly applying the ViL model to the target domain in a zero-shot fashion is unsatisfactory, as it is not specialized for this particular task but largely generic. To make it task specific, we propose a novel Distilling multimodal Foundation model(DIFO)approach. Specifically, DIFO alternates between two steps during adaptation: (i) Customizing the ViL model by maximizing the mutual information with the target model in a prompt learning manner, (ii) Distilling the knowledge of this customized ViL model to the target model. For more fine-grained and reliable distillation, we further introduce two effective regularization terms, namely most-likely category encouragement and predictive consistency. Extensive experiments show that DIFO significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art alternatives. Code is here

The Segment Anything Model (SAM) achieves remarkable promptable segmentation given high-quality prompts which, however, often require good skills to specify. To make SAM robust to casual prompts, this paper presents the first comprehensive analysis on SAM's segmentation stability across a diverse spectrum of prompt qualities, notably imprecise bounding boxes and insufficient points. Our key finding reveals that given such low-quality prompts, SAM's mask decoder tends to activate image features that are biased towards the background or confined to specific object parts. To mitigate this issue, our key idea consists of calibrating solely SAM's mask attention by adjusting the sampling locations and amplitudes of image features, while the original SAM model architecture and weights remain unchanged. Consequently, our deformable sampling plugin (DSP) enables SAM to adaptively shift attention to the prompted target regions in a data-driven manner, facilitated by our effective robust training strategy (RTS). During inference, dynamic routing plugin (DRP) is proposed that toggles SAM between the deformable and regular grid sampling modes, conditioned on the input prompt quality. Thus, our solution, termed Stable-SAM, offers several advantages: 1) improved SAM's segmentation stability across a wide range of prompt qualities, while 2) retaining SAM's powerful promptable segmentation efficiency and generality, with 3) minimal learnable parameters (0.08 M) and fast adaptation (by 1 training epoch). Extensive experiments across multiple datasets validate the effectiveness and advantages of our approach, underscoring Stable-SAM as a more robust solution for segmenting anything. Codes will be released upon acceptance. https://github.com/fanq15/Stable-SAM

We present the first observation of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^0$ with a significance of $5.7σ$ and the first evidence of $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^+π^-$ decay with a significance of $3.1σ$, based on $e^+e^-$ annihilation data recorded by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of $6.4~{\rm fb^{-1}}$, in the center-of-mass energy range from $4.600~{\rm GeV}$ to $4.950~{\rm GeV}$. We determine the branching fractions of $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^0$ and $Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^+π^-$ relative to their Cabibbo-favored counterparts to be $\frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^0)}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \rightarrow Λπ^+π^0)} = (2.09\pm0.39_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm0.07_{\mathrm{syst.}}) \times 10^{-2}$ and $\frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \rightarrow ΛK^+π^+π^-)}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \rightarrow Λπ^+π^+π^-)} = (1.13\pm0.41_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm0.06_{\mathrm{syst.}}) \times 10^{-2}$, respectively. Moreover, by combining our measured result with the world average of $\mathcal{B}(Λ^+_c\to Λπ^+π^0)$, we obtain the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+ \to ΛK^+π^0) = (1.49\pm0.27_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm0.05_{\mathrm{syst.}}\pm0.08_{\mathrm{ref.}}) \times 10^{-3}$. This result significantly departs from theoretical predictions based on quark $SU(3)$ flavor symmetry, which is underpinned by the presumption of meson pair $S$-wave amplitude dominance.

General large language models (LLMs), represented by ChatGPT, have demonstrated significant potential in tasks such as code generation in software engineering. This has led to the development of specialized LLMs for software engineering, known as Code LLMs. A considerable portion of Code LLMs is derived from general LLMs through model fine-tuning. As a result, Code LLMs are often updated frequently and their performance can be influenced by the base LLMs. However, there is currently a lack of systematic investigation into Code LLMs and their performance. In this study, we conduct a comprehensive survey and analysis of the types of Code LLMs and their differences in performance compared to general LLMs. We aim to address three questions: (1) What LLMs are specifically designed for software engineering tasks, and what is the relationship between these Code LLMs? (2) Do Code LLMs really outperform general LLMs in software engineering tasks? (3) Which LLMs are more proficient in different software engineering tasks? To answer these questions, we first collect relevant literature and work from five major databases and open-source communities, resulting in 134 works for analysis. Next, we categorize the Code LLMs based on their publishers and examine their relationships with general LLMs and among themselves. Furthermore, we investigate the performance differences between general LLMs and Code LLMs in various software engineering tasks to demonstrate the impact of base models and Code LLMs. Finally, we comprehensively maintained the performance of LLMs across multiple mainstream benchmarks to identify the best-performing LLMs for each software engineering task. Our research not only assists developers of Code LLMs in choosing base models for the development of more advanced LLMs but also provides insights for practitioners to better understand key improvement directions for Code LLMs.

We present a new interaction mechanism of prediction and planning for end-to-end autonomous driving, called PPAD (Iterative Interaction of Prediction and Planning Autonomous Driving), which considers the timestep-wise interaction to better integrate prediction and planning. An ego vehicle performs motion planning at each timestep based on the trajectory prediction of surrounding agents (e.g., vehicles and pedestrians) and its local road conditions. Unlike existing end-to-end autonomous driving frameworks, PPAD models the interactions among ego, agents, and the dynamic environment in an autoregressive manner by interleaving the Prediction and Planning processes at every timestep, instead of a single sequential process of prediction followed by planning. Specifically, we design ego-to-agent, ego-to-map, and ego-to-BEV interaction mechanisms with hierarchical dynamic key objects attention to better model the interactions. The experiments on the nuScenes benchmark show that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

Exploring new unconventional superconductors is of great value for both fundamental research and practical applications. It is a long-term challenge to develop and study more hole-doped superconductors in 1111 system of iron-based superconductors. However, fifteen years after the discovery of iron-based superconductors, it has become increasingly difficult to discover new members in this system by conventional means. Here we report the discovery of superconductivity with the critical transition temperature up to 30.7 K in the parent compound CaFeAsF by an annealing treatment in air atmosphere. The superconducting behaviors are verified in both the single-crystalline and polycrystalline samples by the resistance and magnetization measurements. The analysis by combining the depth-resolved time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements show that the introduction of oxygen elements and the consequent changing in Fe valence by the annealing treatment may lead to the hole-type doping, which is the origin for the occurrence of superconductivity. Our results provide a new route to induce hole-doped superconductivity in Fe-based superconductors.

In addition, the $f_0(980)-a_0(980)^0$ mixing signal in $J/ψ\to φf_0(980) \to φa_0(980)^0$ and the corresponding electromagnetic decay $J/ψ\to φa_0(980)^0$ are measured with improved precision, providing crucial information to understand the nature of $a_0(980)^0$ and $f_0(980)$.

The absolute branching fraction of $Λ_c^+\to pπ^0$ is measured to be $(1.56^{+0.72}_{-0.58}\pm0.20)\times 10^{-4}$. Combining with the branching fraction of $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+$, $(6.6\pm1.3)\times10^{-4}$, the ratio of the branching fractions of $Λ_c^+\to nπ^+$ and $Λ_c^+\to pπ^0$ is calculated to be $3.2^{+2.2}_{-1.2}$. As an important input for the theoretical models describing the decay mechanisms of charmed baryons, our result indicates that the non-factorizable contributions play an essential role and their interference with the factorizable contributions should not be significant. In addition, the absolute branching fraction of $Λ_c^+\to pη$ is measured to be $(1.63\pm0.31_{\rm stat}\pm0.11_{\rm syst}) \times10^{-3}$.

Federated learning has emerged as a promising paradigm for privacy-preserving collaboration among different parties. Recently, with the popularity of federated learning, an influx of approaches have delivered towards different realistic challenges. In this survey, we provide a systematic overview of the important and recent developments of research on federated learning. Firstly, we introduce the study history and terminology definition of this area. Then, we comprehensively review three basic lines of research: generalization, robustness, and fairness, by introducing their respective background concepts, task settings, and main challenges. We also offer a detailed overview of representative literature on both methods and datasets. We further benchmark the reviewed methods on several well-known datasets. Finally, we point out several open issues in this field and suggest opportunities for further research. We also provide a public website to continuously track developments in this fast advancing field: https://github.com/WenkeHuang/MarsFL.

Recognizing a target of interest from the UAVs is much more challenging than the existing object re-identification tasks across multiple city cameras. The images taken by the UAVs usually suffer from significant size difference when generating the object bounding boxes and uncertain rotation variations. Existing methods are usually designed for city cameras, incapable of handing the rotation issue in UAV scenarios. A straightforward solution is to perform the image-level rotation augmentation, but it would cause loss of useful information when inputting the powerful vision transformer as patches. This motivates us to simulate the rotation operation at the patch feature level, proposing a novel rotation invariant vision transformer (RotTrans). This strategy builds on high-level features with the help of the specificity of the vision transformer structure, which enhances the robustness against large rotation differences. In addition, we design invariance constraint to establish the relationship between the original feature and the rotated features, achieving stronger rotation invariance. Our proposed transformer tested on the latest UAV datasets greatly outperforms the current state-of-the-arts, which is 5.9\% and 4.8\% higher than the highest mAP and Rank1. Notably, our model also performs competitively for the person re-identification task on traditional city cameras. In particular, our solution wins the first place in the UAV-based person re-recognition track in the Multi-Modal Video Reasoning and Analyzing Competition held in ICCV 2021. Code is available at https://github.com/whucsy/RotTrans.

The branching fraction of the two-body decay $Λ_{c}^+ \to Ξ(1530)^{0}K^+$ is $(5.99\pm1.04\pm0.29)\times10^{-3}$, which is consistent with the previous result of $(5.02\pm0.99\pm0.31)\times 10^{-3}$. In addition, the upper limit on the branching fraction of the doubly Cabbibo-suppressed decay $Λ_{c}^+ \to nK^+π^0$ is $7.1 \times 10^{-4}$ at the 90$\%$ confidence level. The upper limits on the branching fractions of $Λ_{c}^+ \to Σ^{0}K^{+}π^{0}$ and $ΛK^{+}π^{0}$ are also determined to be $1.8\times 10^{-3}$ and $ 2.0 \times 10^{-3}$, respectively.

For decades, supernova remnants (SNRs) have been considered the prime sources of Galactic Cosmic rays (CRs). But whether SNRs can accelerate CR protons to PeV energies and thus dominate CR flux up to the knee is currently under intensive theoretical and phenomenological debate. The direct test of the ability of SNRs to operate as CR PeVatrons can be provided by ultrahigh-energy (UHE; $E_γ\geq 100$~TeV) $γ$-rays. In this context, the historical SNR Cassiopeia A (Cas A) is considered one of the most promising target for UHE observations. This paper presents the observation of Cas A and its vicinity by the LHAASO KM2A detector. The exceptional sensitivity of LHAASO KM2A in the UHE band, combined with the young age of Cas A, enabled us to derive stringent model-independent limits on the energy budget of UHE protons and nuclei accelerated by Cas A at any epoch after the explosion. The results challenge the prevailing paradigm that Cas A-type SNRs are major suppliers of PeV CRs in the Milky Way.

While deep reinforcement learning (RL) has been demonstrated effective in solving complex control tasks, sample efficiency remains a key challenge due to the large amounts of data required for remarkable performance. Existing research explores the application of representation learning for data-efficient RL, e.g., learning predictive representations by predicting long-term future states. However, many existing methods do not fully exploit the structural information inherent in sequential state signals, which can potentially improve the quality of long-term decision-making but is difficult to discern in the time domain. To tackle this problem, we propose State Sequences Prediction via Fourier Transform (SPF), a novel method that exploits the frequency domain of state sequences to extract the underlying patterns in time series data for learning expressive representations efficiently. Specifically, we theoretically analyze the existence of structural information in state sequences, which is closely related to policy performance and signal regularity, and then propose to predict the Fourier transform of infinite-step future state sequences to extract such information. One of the appealing features of SPF is that it is simple to implement while not requiring storage of infinite-step future states as prediction targets. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms several state-of-the-art algorithms in terms of both sample efficiency and performance.

Building on this, their ability to perform CoT-style reasoning robustly is of interest from a probing perspective. In this study, we inspect the step-by-step reasoning ability of LLMs with a focus on negation, which is a core linguistic phenomenon that is difficult to process. In particular, we introduce several controlled settings (e.g., reasoning in case of fictional entities) to evaluate the logical reasoning abilities of the models. We observed that dozens of modern LLMs were not robust against lexical negation (e.g., plausible ->implausible) when performing CoT-style reasoning, and the results highlight unique limitations in each LLM family.

Using data samples collected at center-of-mass energies between 2.000 and 3.080 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, a partial-wave analysis is performed on the process $e^+e^-\toηπ^+π^-$. In addition to the dominant $e^+e^-\toρη$ component, the $e^+e^-\to a_2(1320)π$ process is also sizeable, contributing up to 24% of the total reaction. The measured cross sections of the process $e^+e^-\toηπ^+π^-$ are systematically higher than those of BaBar by more than $3σ$ at center-of-mass energies between 2.000 and 2.300 GeV. In the cross section lineshape for $e^+e^-\to a_2(1320)π$, a resonant structure is observed with a significance of $5.5σ$, with $M=(2044\pm31\pm4)$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ=(163\pm69\pm24)$ MeV and $\mathcal{B_{R}}\cdotΓ_{e^+e^-}^{R}=(34.6\pm17.1\pm6.0)$ eV or $(137.1\pm73.3\pm2.1)$ eV. In the cross section lineshape for $e^+e^-\toρη$, an evidence of a dip structure around 2180 MeV/$c^2$ is observed with statistical significance of $3.0σ$.

The highest energy gamma-rays from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have important implications for their radiation mechanism. Here we report for the first time the detection of gamma-rays up to 13 TeV from the brightest GRB 221009A by the Large High Altitude Air-shower Observatory (LHAASO). The LHAASO-KM2A detector registered more than 140 gamma-rays with energies above 3 TeV during 230$-$900s after the trigger. The intrinsic energy spectrum of gamma-rays can be described by a power-law after correcting for extragalactic background light (EBL) absorption. Such a hard spectrum challenges the synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) scenario of relativistic electrons for the afterglow emission above several TeV. Observations of gamma-rays up to 13 TeV from a source with a measured redshift of z=0.151 hints more transparency in intergalactic space than previously expected. Alternatively, one may invoke new physics such as Lorentz Invariance Violation (LIV) or an axion origin of very high energy (VHE) signals.

The distributed edge storage system can store data collected at the edge of the network in a decentralised manner, with low latency, high security, and flexibility. Traditional edge-distributed storage systems only consider one single factor, such as node capacity, when storing data, ignoring network and storage node load conditions that affecting the system's read/write performance. At the same time, it could be more scalable in the widely used wireless terminal application scenarios. To tackle these challenges, this paper proposes an innovative software-defined edge storage architecture based on SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and SMB (Server Message Block) protocols, A data storage node selection algorithm that integrates the network state and storage node load state is designed based on multi-attribute decision model, and a system prototype is realised in conjunction with 5G wireless communication technology. Experimental results demonstrate significant improvements in the performance of high-load write operations compared to traditional edge-distributed storage systems. The proposed wireless distributed edge storage system also demonstrates superior scalability and adaptability, effectively addressing the challenge of limited system scalability and improving compatibility with edge scenarios in mobile applications. In addition, it results in cost savings in hardware deployment and presents a promising advancement in edge storage technology.

Vision-Language (VL) pre-trained models have shown their superiority on many multimodal tasks. However, the adversarial robustness of such models has not been fully explored. Existing approaches mainly focus on exploring the adversarial robustness under the white-box setting, which is unrealistic. In this paper, we aim to investigate a new yet practical task to craft image and text perturbations using pre-trained VL models to attack black-box fine-tuned models on different downstream tasks. Towards this end, we propose VLATTACK to generate adversarial samples by fusing perturbations of images and texts from both single-modal and multimodal levels. At the single-modal level, we propose a new block-wise similarity attack (BSA) strategy to learn image perturbations for disrupting universal representations. Besides, we adopt an existing text attack strategy to generate text perturbations independent of the image-modal attack. At the multimodal level, we design a novel iterative cross-search attack (ICSA) method to update adversarial image-text pairs periodically, starting with the outputs from the single-modal level. We conduct extensive experiments to attack five widely-used VL pre-trained models for six tasks. Experimental results show that VLATTACK achieves the highest attack success rates on all tasks compared with state-of-the-art baselines, which reveals a blind spot in the deployment of pre-trained VL models. Source codes can be found at https://github.com/ericyinyzy/VLAttack.

Three structures are observed in the line shape of the measured cross sections. A maximum-likelihood fit with $ψ(4040)$, two additional resonances, and a non-resonant component is performed. The mass and width of the first additional state are $(4219.7\pm2.5\pm4.5) \rm{MeV}/\rm{c}^2$ and $(80.7\pm4.4\pm1.4) \rm{MeV}$, respectively, consistent with the $ψ(4230)$. For the second state, the mass and width are $(4386\pm13\pm17) \rm{MeV}/\rm{c}^2$ and $(177\pm32\pm13) \rm{MeV}$, respectively, consistent with the $ψ(4360)$. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The statistical significance of $ψ(4040)$ is $8.0σ$ and those for $ψ(4230)$ and $ψ(4360)$ are more than $10.0σ$.

The $Σ^{+}$ hyperons are produced by the collisions of $Λ$ hyperons from $J/ψ$ decays with nuclei in the material of the BESIII detector. The total cross section of $Λ+ ^{9}{\rm Be} \rightarrow Σ^+ + X$ is measured to be $σ= (37.3 \pm 4.7 \pm 3.5)~{\rm mb}$ at $Λ$ beam momenta within $[1.057, 1.091]~{\rm GeV}/c$, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This analysis is the first study of $Λ$-nucleon interactions at an $e^+ e^-$ collider, providing information and constraints relevant for the strong-interaction potential, the origin of color confinement, the unified model for baryon-baryon interactions, and the internal structure of neutron stars.

Federated learning is an important privacy-preserving multi-party learning paradigm, involving collaborative learning with others and local updating on private data. Model heterogeneity and catastrophic forgetting are two crucial challenges, which greatly limit the applicability and generalizability. This paper presents a novel FCCL+, federated correlation and similarity learning with non-target distillation, facilitating the both intra-domain discriminability and inter-domain generalization. For heterogeneity issue, we leverage irrelevant unlabeled public data for communication between the heterogeneous participants. We construct cross-correlation matrix and align instance similarity distribution on both logits and feature levels, which effectively overcomes the communication barrier and improves the generalizable ability. For catastrophic forgetting in local updating stage, FCCL+ introduces Federated Non Target Distillation, which retains inter-domain knowledge while avoiding the optimization conflict issue, fulling distilling privileged inter-domain information through depicting posterior classes relation. Considering that there is no standard benchmark for evaluating existing heterogeneous federated learning under the same setting, we present a comprehensive benchmark with extensive representative methods under four domain shift scenarios, supporting both heterogeneous and homogeneous federated settings. Empirical results demonstrate the superiority of our method and the efficiency of modules on various scenarios.

The precisions of $α_0$ for $Λ\to nπ^0$ and $\barα_0$ for $\barΛ \to \bar{n}π^0$ compared to world averages are improved by factors of 4 and 1.7, respectively. The ratio of decay asymmetry parameters of $Λ\to nπ^0$ to that of $Λ\to pπ^-$, $\langle α_0 \rangle/ \langle α_{Λ-} \rangle $, is determined to be $ 0.873 \pm 0.012^{+0.011}_{-0.010}$, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The ratio is smaller than unity more than $5σ$, which signifies the existence of the $ΔI = 3/2$ transition in $Λ$ for the first time. The paper deals with the spread of two competing viruses over a network of population nodes, accounting for pairwise interactions and higher-order interactions (HOI) within and between the population nodes. We study the competitive networked bivirus susceptible-infected-susceptible (SIS) model on a hypergraph introduced in Cui et al. [1]. We show that the system has, in a generic sense, a finite number of equilibria, and the Jacobian associated with each equilibrium point is nonsingular; the key tool is the Parametric Transversality Theorem of differential topology. Since the system is also monotone, it turns out that the typical behavior of the system is convergence to some equilibrium point. Thereafter, we exhibit a tri-stable domain with three locally exponentially stable equilibria. For different parameter regimes, we establish conditions for the existence of a coexistence equilibrium (both viruses infect separate fractions of each population node).
