ITALIAN BAROQUE ARCHITECTURE, Cortona; church of Santi Luca e Martina (1634-69), next to Roman Forum, by Cortona. "Cortona's major architectural work, is the church of SS. Luca E Martina. The two storied central section of the facade follows a convex curve, which seems the result of pressure from the rectangular blocks flanking it. Columns are embedded into the convex wall in the manner devised by Michelangelo in the vestibule of the Laurentian Library in Florence."
