In this post, I'm sharing two common behavior intervention mistakes that I've made, and I've found are actually quite common mistakes, after talking to other school counselors and social workers. Not only am I sharing these mistakes, but I'm sharing 3 different lenses we can use to avoid these behavior intervention mistakes. I'm also sharing how to decide which lens to use, plus a FREE Behavior Intervention Guide that will dive deeper into these lenses and their interventions.

Tier 3 is the final tier in RTI. It serves students who were not responding to interventions in tier 1 or 2. Interventions are individualized and intensive. Tier 3 serves about 3-5% of the student population. Assessment is usually weekly. If students get to tier 3, there may be a recommendation made for special education services.

As teachers, we all face different behavior challenges in the classroom. These challenges can change day to day or even year to year, but dealing with student behavior is something that no teacher can escape.
