Our people work across a variety of different environments, in vastly different types of roles, so we are committed to ensuring they are safe no matter the location or task. A visit from the icare NSW Paralympian Speakers reaffirmed our commitment to safety at work, and hearing their stories about how a split second changed their lives forever underscores how important it is for everyone to take responsibility for not only their own health and safety at work, but everyone around them. We want all of our people to return home each day safe, and well. Last month Zip Water Managing Director Mike Abbott and President of Culligan APAC and Zip International John Doumani were delighted to host The Minister for Workplace Health and Safety Sophie Cotsis MP, and icare NSW Paralympian Speakers Program representatives Kahi Puru and Clint Pickin to speak to our team at the Zip Water factory in Condell Park to raise awareness of health and safety in the workplace. Clint, a para-triathlete and former Oceania Champion, is the newest member of the program, and reinforced the importance of always being alert at work, “All it takes is two seconds to change your life. Look out for each other, and you’ll go home from work the way you came to work.” He was joined by fellow para-athlete Kahi Puru, who has been in the Paralympic Speakers program for more than 20 years and says, “Being able to prevent one workplace injury is worth its weight in gold”. At Zip we are committed to ensuring that all our people - whether they’re on the road servicing our customers, in the factory, or in the office - stay safe and well. We firmly believe that one injury is too many, and we tailor our health and wellness solutions to their needs and support our people to understand how to access our resources. It’s our priority to help our people understand that, as we heard from our speakers, safety is not only about them, but also their colleagues, friends and family.

This Sunday 16th June is World Refill Day, a reminder of the importance of reducing single-use plastic waste by encouraging the use of refillable water bottles. Small changes really do add up.
