🔷 Ensuring Safe and Clean Water for Wanaka 🔷 In September 2023, the Queenstown Lakes District Council faced a potential water quality issue due to cryptosporidium contamination, leading to a boil water notice for Queenstown. Recognising the urgency, the council promptly upgraded key water treatment plants in the region. FILTEC Ltd were contracted by the council to deliver two UV water treatment plants in Wanaka. For the West Wanaka plant, FILTEC managed the entire process from design to installation and commissioning. For the second plant, we supplied the advanced UV equipment, with Fulton Hogan handling the installation and commissioning. 👷♂️ Our continued support and maintenance services ensure the longevity and optimal performance of both plants, securing safe and clean water for the Wanaka community for years to come. 🤝 The swift and efficient collaboration between QLDC and FILTEC ensured immediate compliance and community safety. Last week our team had the fantastic opportunity to visit and explore the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power’s (LADWP) groundwater treatment plant in Tujunga, California. It is the worlds largest facility for remediating groundwater contaminated with 1,4-dioxane and employs six TrojanUVFlexAOP systems to remove over 99% of this contaminant.
