Designed by Charles and Ray #Eames, the seat shell of the Wire Chair echoes the form of the Eames Plastic Side Chair. Mounted on the legendary 'Eiffel Tower' base, the DKR combines transparency and functionality. The version with a powder-coated finish is also suited for use in the garden or on the terrace. The DKR chair is optionally available with a seat cushion or with a two-piece seat and back cushion covered in fabric or leather. https://lnkd.in/dfzTcNX #Vitra #HomeStories

In the early 1950s, Jean Prouvé designed various stools that he named with different numbers. The seat of Tabouret N° 307 has the shape of a tractor saddle – without holes – and is reminiscent of the seats in the lecture theatre at Aix-Marseille University, which Prouvé designed around the same time. Originally made of stamped aluminum sheeting, the ergonomic seat of Tabouret N° 307 is crafted from solid oak in the version produced by #Vitra. The interplay between the solid wooden seat and the graceful tubular steel legs makes for a fascinating contrast. #JeanProuve https://lnkd.in/e9cRu-Di

The Cité armchair is an early masterpiece by the French designer and engineer Jean Prouvé. Originally created to furnish the student residence halls at the Cité Universitaire in Nancy, Prouvé also used this comfortable, expansive armchair with powder-coated steel runners and leather belt armrests in the living room of his own home. #Vitra #JeanProuve https://lnkd.in/eYzAMCje

Developed by Jean Prouvé, the Fauteuil de Salon is a typical example of the distinctive structural aesthetic of his designs. The armchair's understated character suits a wide variety of interiors, and its ample upholstery and oiled, solid wood armrests emanate inviting comfort. #Vitra #JeanProuve https://lnkd.in/eZA4sBhS

Jean Prouvé designed Tabouret Métallique along with two other proposed models in metal in 1936 for the Maison d’éducation surveillée de Saint-Maurice. The design elaborated in the Jean Prouvé studios never actually went into production at the time, but is now manufactured by #Vitra. The underframe made of bent sheet metal exhibits structural affinities with the later Trapèze table. Tabouret Métallique is a practical stool that can also be used as a small side table and comes in a selection of original Prouvé colours. https://lnkd.in/dZqAcqTA

The slender, elegantly splayed legs of Compas Direction, designed by Jean Prouvé in 1953, call to mind the hinged arms of a compass – 'le compas' in French. With its compact dimensions, the desk is ideal for the contemporary home office. https://lnkd.in/ekYPTjmX #Vitra

Numerous works by the creative duo Front are devoted to the systematic observation of sleeping or hibernating animals. This fascination inspired their design of a group of slumbering creatures – Resting Animals – whose poses exude a serene tranquillity. The Resting Birds are ornamental ceramic figures in two different sizes. Their peaceful presence goes beyond the decorative to communicate a deep sense of contentment. https://lnkd.in/eymDf9rk #Vitra #HomeStories #FrontDesign

The Coat Dots by #HellaJongerius are mounted on an extendable pin that can be pulled slightly away from the wall to provide a handy peg for jackets and clothes hangers. At the same time, they can also simply be utilised as decorative wall elements. The Coat Dots are available in sets of three colour-coordinated balls, including mounting materials. https://lnkd.in/e_wtebSv #Vitra #HomeStories
