Inside Timeless: How to store investment-grade cars? 🏎️ To ensure that our investment cars retain their value, they are not only constantly maintained by our storage partners, but also regularly inspected by our experts themselves. Our Asset Management Team Lead Nils Johannsen and our Asset Manager for Cars, Julius Beckereit don't need to be told twice: they inspected our Mercedes 190 EVO I, BMW Z1, Lotus Elise, Camaro SS and Alfa Romeo Montreal, on site. 🔍 💬 “As asset managers, we see ourselves as direct representatives of our investors. In both our interests, we personally inspect our vehicles, which allows us to maintain full control over their condition.” Nils explains. 💬 Julius adds, “This hands-on approach not only enables us to track the maintenance of the cars but also to gather detailed information. Our storage partners, thanks to their networks, often provide valuable market insights.” We asked our experts: what is important when storing investment-grade cars? 1. Climate & Humidity: Maintain a consistent temperature in the storage location and keep humidity levels between 40% and 50% to prevent any rust or mould. 2. Cleanliness & Battery Health: Wash and wax the car before storage, clean the interior, and use protective covers to prevent the cars from getting dirty. The batteries are kept in a healthy condition by using intelligent/automatic battery charging devices. 3. Inspections & Maintenance: Inspect the car for any signs of damage or deterioration. To ensure the car is running smoothly and the fluids are moving throughout the motor and the transmission, Timeless performs “maintenance drives” of 10km per car every quarter.
