Ever wondered how we at Virtonomy turn CT scans into 3D models of digital patient twins? Then our next blog post is for you. ⬇ We cover the topic of DICOM - a digital imaging standard, and how it enables us to create precise 3D models used for virtual device fitting and implementation. The blog post also explains our internal upload and deidentification tool, which is available for all users that would like to upload their own scans of real patients, instead of using the ones available in our database. The process is very simple - the user just needs to drag and drop their files, and we turn them into digital patient twins. We also handle the anonymization process for you to make sure your data complies with all the regulations. Benefits: ✅ fast and reliable process; ✅ comes with measurements you need; ✅ can be used for validating the fit with your real patient. Read the full article to know more, and if you have any questions, let us know. 🔗 Article link: https://lnkd.in/dNXqxije #digitaltwins #medtech #digitalhealth #dicom #medicalimaging #data

Introducing "Simple Complexity - Tech brought to you by Virtonomy"! 🚀    We're thrilled to kick off our educational series, "Simple Complexity," where we'll break down intricate technologies into easily understandable insights. This aligns with our passion of making cutting-edge medical tech accessible to everyone. 💡    In this series, we'll explore various innovative technologies that shape our product and healthcare, starting with Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). We mention this term a lot when we talk about medical simulations our customers have access to. And now you can learn more about what we mean when we say we use the revolutionary SPH method and what its advantages are compared to other methods. ⬇   What is SPH? 🤔 Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is a revolutionary method in computational modeling. Unlike traditional mesh-based methods, SPH uses particles to simulate various physical phenomena, allowing for highly accurate and flexible modeling of complex physical systems. This particle-based approach excels in handling dynamic interfaces and changing geometries, making it a powerful tool for various applications.    Although not limited to fluid dynamics, Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) performs exceptionally well for fluid simulations. Imagine viewing a fluid as a collection of particles moving and interacting based on their surroundings. This perspective allows SPH to simulate fluid properties with remarkable precision, providing insights that traditional methods might miss.    Moreover, because #SPH is meshless, it eliminates the cumbersome process of meshing, streamlining the simulation workflow. SPH's meshless nature means it can adapt to complex scenarios, such as free surface flows and intricate boundary interactions, making it an ideal choice for medical applications. 📽 Check out the attached video to see its application.   At Virtonomy, we leverage the power of SPH to transform medical device development. Our advanced anatomical simulations enable testing and optimization of medical implants and devices across a virtual population. This ensures safety and performance across diverse body types, providing critical insights early in the development process.    Our platform allows engineers to simulate how variations in anatomy affect device performance and identify potential design optimizations. By replacing traditional physical testing with validated simulations, we help accelerate development timelines and reduce costs. 📈   Let's make complex tech simple, together!  #SimpleComplexity #Virtonomy #SPH #MedTech #Innovation #Simulation #Engineering #CM&S 🧠

Which cardiovascular devices are the most common ones to adopt digital patient twins and medical simulations? ⬇ Any medical device company can benefit from introducing these new technologies into their workflow, either to reduce costs, speed up development, or to ensure their device fits the most number of patients. So far, we have seen great adoption rates in the following device groups, but with the FDA highlighting the use of Computational Modeling and Simulation for regulatory purposes, we expect even more cardiovascular (and other) devices embracing this change and staying ahead. ❇ Heart Valves: Getting heart valves just right is crucial. With digital patient twins, you can simulate and test the designs in a virtual environment, ensuring they fit and function perfectly before creating physical prototypes, and assess how they will behave over time, predicting wear and potential failure points. ❇ Stents and Grafts: Medical simulations let you simulate blood flow and vessel dynamics, helping you fine-tune stents and grafts for maximum safety and effectiveness. ❇ Pacemakers and Defibrillators: These devices need to be super reliable. Simulations, electromagnetics and our 4D analysis allow you to simulate different scenarios and patient conditions, making your devices more robust and dependable. ❇ Catheters and Guidewires: Navigating the complex pathways of the cardiovascular system requires high precision. Digital patient twins help you refine your designs for better navigation and deployment in tricky anatomical structures. These technologies not only speed things up and reduce costs but also improve the safety and performance of your devices. The companies that are adopting our #digitaltwin technology are gaining incredible insights and precision, leading to breakthroughs in cardiovascular care. If you are a developer of a cardiovascular medical device, contact us for a free consultation. We'd love to help you introduce these technologies at any point in your development!📥 #stents #catheters #valves #pacemakers #medicalsimulations #clinicaltrials #medtech #digitalhealth

A quick peek at the atmosphere at this year's #EuroPCR and how to reach our booth at the venue! 🗺 Come over to talk to our team (Kristian Debus, John Wesley Benjamin, Abdulrahman Elgendy, Dr. Simon J. Sonntag) and see a demo of our product. We've already had many engaging conversations with industry professionals, and, so far, two of the most commonly asked questions are: 💭Question 1: What sets Virtonomy apart from other companies in the field of digital patient twins and medical simulation? 💡Answer: At Virtonomy, we combine our expertise in #SPH technology with a deep understanding of cardiovascular physiology. This means that we provide an end-to-end solution, enabling users to gain access to a huge database of 3D models, and run medical simulations directly from the interface. All our models come with validated measurements, so you can use our statistics tool to evaluate and increase population coverage, and analyze worst- and average-case scenarios and anatomies. Not to mention you don't need to be an expert in simulation, our software is intuitive and tailored to your specific needs and device type. 💭 Question 2: Are medical simulations and virtual implantations via #digitaltwin technology accepted by regulatory bodies? 💡 Answer: Yes, the #FDA has increasingly recognized the value of computational modeling and simulation (CM&S) as a tool to support the development and regulatory evaluation of medical devices. This approach aligns with the FDA's broader commitment to leveraging scientific advances to ensure the safety and efficacy of medical products. It has published several documents discussing its views, and recently also issued guidance on assessing the credibility of computational modeling and simulation in medical device submissions. We have also assissted customers in submitting their documents including a report with data from our software. Have more questions? Leave them below or drop by our booth if you're attending the EuroPCR Conference! 👋 #medtech #digitalhealth #clinicaltrials
