UBQ Materials Ltd. closes the loop between the ecosystems of waste and materials. Through its conversion technology, the company has created a bio-based thermoplastic, called UBQ, which is entirely made from residual waste, including all organics and hard-to-recycle materials. As a sustainable plastic substitute, UBQ preserves finite resources, diverts waste from landfills and incinerators and prevents emissions. 👉 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/dpccC_tg #recycling #thermoplastic #plasticsubstitute

Increasing the amount of recycled plastic waste in the UK – this is the goal of YS Reclamation, based in Warrington, England. Since 2017, the plastics processor has been investing in new systems to enhance the quality of the granulate produced from recycled plastics. However, issues with the originally supplied primary shredder were restricting productivity and quality. Now, YS Reclamation relies on a shredder from Vecoplan AG to process large quantities of post-consumer waste from LDPE films. 👉 Read the full article: https://t1p.de/sf2j2 #recycling #postconsumerwaste #shredder

In the plastics industry, most injection molding processes operate below peak efficiency. OSPHIM points out that prolonged setup procedures, labor-intensive manual adjustments and growing complexity, partly due to the increased use of recycled materials, result in inefficient data management and material wastage. The start-up aims to transform this with an artificial intelligence (AI) solution. 🚀 Read the full article (PI+): https://t1p.de/fvi0x Text: Melanie Ehrhardt #startup #ai #injectionmolding

While in mold labeling (IML) is standard for packaging products, it is still rarely used in the medical sector. Five renowned partners are working to change this. Their rationale is sound, because an initial model application has revealed both the added value that will accrue to the pharmaceutical industry and medical technology as well as a big plus in sustainability. 👉 Read the full article (PI+): https://t1p.de/qbp8d Text: Clemens Doriat #medicaltechnology #labeling #sustainability
