Auto Renew is a great benefit! It enables the ease of automatic annual Membership renewal; the convenience of enrolling with a saved credit card that is easy to update or remove; and you will receive an email reminder two weeks prior to your renewal date to remind you of the upcoming payment.

Auto Renew FAQ

I don't remember signing up for Auto Renew?

  • New Memberships purchased with a valid debit/credit card are automatically enrolled with Auto Renew and are given notice of participation in auto renewal when joining.

  • Upgrading or Renewing Members are automatically enrolled

  • Auto Renew participation can be removed through your online account or by visiting any club and requesting the change at the Membership Desk

Why did I receive a "Sam's Club Member Renewal" charge on my credit or debit card?

  • Members on auto renew are contacted via direct mail or email as notification of the upcoming renewal payment. The notice includes the date of renewal payment and the total that will be charged. Members who do not have a valid email address will receive a direct mail up to 30 days prior to their renewal. Members with a valid email address on file will receive notification up to 14 days before renewal.

  • Processing of Membership Renewal payments occurs on the date of the membership renewal and includes charges of membership fees, add-on's, and local taxes where applicable.

  • Participation in auto renewal can be removed at any time through your online account's Auto-renew settings, at your local club or you can contact us for help.

  • Auto Renew Terms: If the Primary Member or Complimentary Household Cardholder enrolls in the Auto-renew Program, Sam's Club will automatically charge the Membership fee, plus the fee for any existing Add-On Memberships and any applicable taxes, to any card on file or any payment method in the digital wallet approximately one day before the end of the Membership term. By enrolling in the Auto-renew Program, the Primary and Complimentary Member authorizes Sam's Club to charge the scheduled payments (or any adjustment thereof) to any card on file or any payment method in the digital wallet, and represents that they are the owner or authorized user of the account(s) and payment methods to be charged.

Why was I charged a $1 fee for using Auto Renew?

The $1 charge related to Auto Renew is a hold to make sure your card on file is still active/valid. This $1 charge will fall off once the card is actually charged for the full renewal fee.
