Can the name on a membership be changed?

 

The primary member cannot be changed or deleted except when the primary has passed away. Please bring a copy of the deceased member's death certificate and membership card to your local Sam's Club to modify the account information.

EXCEPTIONS:
  • Accidentally misspelled name
  • If you were recently married or divorced and wish to update your Membership card, please visit the Membership Desk at your local club with the appropriate documentation
  • If you have a Sam's Club Mastercard, call the number on the back of your card or billing statement to request the change
  • If your Membership is business related and your representative has changed, please visit the Membership Desk at your local club with a written request for the change on company letterhead. Without this, the club will not change anything
  • You can change the household cardholder information by calling us at (888) 746-7726 or visiting your club's Membership Desk

 

If a family member has recently passed away and you want to cancel their membership, please bring a copy of the deceased member's death certificate and Membership card to your local Sam's Club or call us at (888) 746—7726 and say "Cancel Membership" when prompted. You will be required to email a copy of the death certificate to complete the request.
