Multi-Factor Authentication

Using a password is one way to help protect your account. An additional way to protect it is multi-factor authentication. That way, when we see activity on your account that we don't recognize, we'll ask you to confirm that it's you by using a code sent to your mobile phone or email.

 

When will it be used?

We'll only ask for multi-factor authentication when there could be suspicious activity on your account.

 

How do I sign in with multi-factor authentication?

  1. Enter your password

  2. A code will be sent to your mobile phone or email*

  3. You enter the code and complete signing in

How long does the code take to be sent?

The typical timeline is 10-15 seconds, but if you don't receive it after waiting 30 seconds, please select the option to resend the code*.

*email or phone number must be verified through account to be used for verification

 

What kind of phone can I use for multi-factor authentication?

Please use an SMS (text) capable mobile device. Land lines will not work for authentication.

If a land line is attached to your membership, you have two options to update your account and receive your security notification:

  • Sign in to your online account
    • Change your method of authentication to email, and you will receive your security code via email
      • or
    • Update the phone number of your account to an SMS (text) capable device.

 

 

Can I add a phone# or email to my account for more options when verification is required?

Yes! This will allow the ability to choose which verification contact method you prefer (email/text) the next time that you attempt to sign in and trigger the prompt. (email/phone must be verified through account)

Steps to add 2nd option:

  1. Sign in to your online account

  2. ADD EMAIL:  Under profile -> Account information -> Personal information -> add your email and verify the email to complete registration

  3. ADD PHONE:  Under profile -> Account information -> Personal information -> add your SMS capable phone and verify it to complete the registration

  4. The next time that you're prompted for verification, you will have the option to choose text or email
