Sam's Cash is a benefit for every member of Sam's Club. Earn more by going Plus or by using the Sam's Mastercard®. We also partner with big names for even more opportunities to earn.

EARNING:  Both the Primary and Complimentary cardholder's purchases count toward earnings. Sam's Cash continues to accrue as they are used. Eligible purchases made using Sam's Cash accrue more Sam's Cash.

SPENDING:  Sam's Cash is issued directly onto your membership card every month. It can be applied to purchases online, at the club or using our mobile app. You can also redeem for cash at a register in the club.

VISIBILITY:   Primary and Complimentary cardholder's can view status, accrue, & redeem 'Available' Sam's Cash as noted in the Sam's app, your online account or the homepage module.

SAVINGS:  Sam's Cash does NOT expire; Save your rewards and allow them to rollover to the next cycle.

What is Sam's Cash?
The Sam's Cash Loyalty Rewards Program is a rewards program that allows all Sam's Club Members (U.S. and Puerto Rico) with an active and valid membership, to earn and redeem Sam's Cash on qualifying activities and purchases made inside and outside of Sam’s Club. See terms.
 
How does Sam’s Cash work?
You can earn Sam’s Cash by making qualifying purchases through your Plus membership, the Sam’s Club Mastercard, the Bonus Offers Program, and other opportunities as they become available. Once you’ve earned it, you can see it as “pending” in the Sam’s Cash Dashboard. Sam’s Cash earned by your Sam’s Club Mastercard is issued on your cycle date each month, Sam’s Cash earned from Plus Membership and Bonus Offers is issued on your monthly membership anniversary, and Sam’s Cash from other promotions is issued in the timeframe specified in the terms and conditions of each promotion. Once it’s loaded to your account, you can use it to make purchases at Sam’s Club, cash it out, or renew your membership.
 
Does my Sam’s Cash expire?
As long as your membership is active, Sam’s Cash does not expire. However, if your Sam's Club membership has been terminated, cancelled, or revoked by Sam's Club, the remaining Sam's Cash balance shall be forfeited.
 
Where can I see my Sam’s Cash?
You can see your current Sam’s Cash balance and your Sam’s Cash activity in the Sam’s Club dashboard found here. In addition, when you check out in-club or online, we will show you the amount of Sam’s Cash available to be used on your purchase.

EARNING SAM'S CASH

Who can earn Sam’s Cash?
All members are eligible and automatically enrolled in the Sam's Cash Program. Sam’s Club reserves the right to limit Sam’s Cash when there’s potential fraud, abuse, or violation of Sam’s Club policies and practices as determined by Sam’s Club in its sole discretion. See terms.
 
Is there a limit to the amount of Sam’s Cash I can earn?
Please review the details for each way to earn Sam’s Cash to determine if there are limits to how much Sam’s Cash you can earn. Currently, the limits are as follows:
  1. Plus Rewards - $500/yr
  2. Sam’s Club Mastercard - $5,000/yr
  3. Bonus Offers Program - no limit
  4. Other Sam’s Cash promotions - as indicated in the promotion’s terms and conditions
 
How do I earn Sam's Cash?
There are several ways to earn Sam’s Cash. All members are automatically enrolled in the Sam’s Cash Loyalty Rewards Program, but each Sam’s Cash earning opportunity requires members to perform certain actions or activities to earn Sam’s Cash. Please refer to the terms and conditions for each Sam’s Cash earning opportunity.
 
How do I earn Sam's Cash as a Plus Member? (formerly Cash Rewards)
Sam’s Cash cannot be earned where application of the Sam’s Cash Program would be prohibited by law or regulation.
 
Earning Sam’s Cash from Plus Membership
Plus members (primary members) and complimentary household members can earn 2% Sam’s Cash on eligible pre-tax purchases made at Sam’s Club stores, including Scan & Go™ checkout and Curbside Pickup, up to $500 in Sam's Cash for each membership year.
 
What type of items do not earn Sam’s Cash?
Sam's Cash cannot be earned on certain product categories such as: Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, fuel, certain dairy products, gift cards, etc. See full list here.
 
Can I earn Sam’s Cash outside of the US and Puerto Rico?
No, Sam’s Cash can only be earned in U.S. and Puerto Rico Sam’s Club locations.
 
Does the Complimentary member on my Plus membership earn Sam’s Cash?
Yes, qualifying purchases made by the Primary member and Complimentary member earn Sam’s Cash. However, purchases by Add-On Members do not earn Sam’s Cash from Plus membership.
 
Will I earn Sam’s Cash for purchases made on the day that I upgrade to Plus membership?
Yes, you will earn Sam’s Cash for all qualified purchases made on the day you upgrade to a Plus membership, regardless of whether those purchases are made before or after the membership is upgraded.
 
What type of payment options are acceptable to earn Sam’s Cash from Plus Membership?
Sam’s Cash will be earned on qualifying purchases made with any accepted payment method.
 
Do I earn Sam’s Cash on purchases where I redeem Sam’s Cash?
Yes, Sam’s Cash will be earned on qualifying purchases regardless of what payment method is used for those purchases.
 
When does the $500 limit reset each year?
The $500 limit to Sam’s Cash resets each year on the day after your renewal date.

How will I earn Sam's Cash with the Sam's Club MasterCard? (formerly Cash Back)
 
Earning Sam’s Cash as a Sam's Club® Mastercard® holder
Sam's Club Members may earn up to $5,000 in Sam's Cash per calendar year on qualifying purchases using their Sam's Club Mastercard.** Sam's Club® Mastercard® holders can earn:
  • 5% back on gas (on first $6,000 per year, then 1%)**
  • 3% back on Sam’s Club purchases for Plus members. Club members earn 1%**
  • 3% back on dining and takeout**
  • 1% back on other purchases**

Earning through the Sam’s Cash Bonus Offer Program
The Sam’s Cash Bonus Offers Program allows eligible Sam’s Club members to earn Sam’s Cash outside of Sam’s Club. Earn at restaurants, shops, on popular subscriptions, and much more. To participate in the program, link any eligible credit or debit card to start earning Sam’s Cash when completing qualified activities at third-party merchants. Earning through other promotions
Sam's Club may offer additional promotions or opportunities to earn Sam's Cash from time to time. Such promotions are offered on a limited-time basis and are subject to change without notice. Sam’s Cash from such promotions will be paid out in the time frame specified in the terms and conditions of each promotion.

REDEEMING SAM'S CASH

How do I redeem Sam’s Cash?
There are three ways to redeem your Sam’s Cash:

  1. Sam’s Cash can be applied to your membership renewal fees
  2. Sam’s Cash can be applied to eligible purchases from Sam's Club or SamsClub.com
  3. Sam’s Cash can be cashed out by visiting the Sam’s Club’s membership desk or a register with an associate. We may require proof of identification at the time of redemption.

 

Who can redeem my Sam’s Cash?
Sam’s Cash provided by Sam’s Club
Sam’s Cash earned from Plus membership, Bonus Offers, and other Sam’s Cash promotions is shared between the Primary and Complimentary members of each member account. However, the Primary membership account does not have access to the Sam’s Cash earned by Add-on memberships. Sam’s Cash earned by Add-ons members is shared between the Add-on Primary Member and the Add-on Complimentary member.
Sam’s Cash earned from the Sam’s Club Mastercard
When using their Sam’s Club credit card to check out In-Club, both the primary cardholder and their authorized user can redeem rewards at a staffed register or self-checkout. For additional details, see Sam’s Cash Terms & Conditions. For Sam's Club Business Mastercard accounts, only the primary Mastercard account holder may redeem Sam's Cash connected to the account.
 
When can I redeem my Sam’s Cash?
Earned Sam's Cash is issued to your membership account every month. You will be able to use any accrued Sam's Cash once it shows as 'Available' in the Sam's app or in your online Sam's Cash dashboard.
  • Sam’s Cash from Plus Membership, the Bonus Offers Program, and other promotions is loaded to your account on your membership join date each month. For instance, if you joined on April 14, your Sam’s Cash will be issued to you each month on the 14th
  • Sam’s Cash from the Sam's Club Mastercard is made available to you based on the billing cycle of your credit account
 
Suspension of Sam's Cash™ Program or Rewards
Sam's Club reserves the right to amend, cancel, or suspend the Sam's Cash Program, in whole or in part, or change any of these Terms and Conditions at any time for any or no reason. Sam's Club reserves the right to revoke Sam's Cash, suspend a Member's access to Sam's Cash and the Sam's Cash Program in the event of fraud, abuse of the Sam's Cash Program, or violations of these Terms and Conditions, as determined in Sam's Club's sole discretion without notice to the Member. Such action may result in the forfeiture of Sam's Cash not yet redeemed.
 

Other questions about Sam's Cash™

Where can I use my Sam’s Cash?
Sam’s Cash can be used on most purchases in Sam’s Club and at Samsclub.com. In-club, this includes purchases at any register, self-checkout lane, or using Scan and Go™. Online, this includes purchases on Samsclub.com or the Sam’s Club app. Sam’s Cash cannot be used for purchases from third parties, some prescription-related products and alcohol in some states.
 
Can I use Sam’s Cash on fuel purchases or to pay my Sam’s Club Mastercard?
While this is something we may offer in the future as we look to improve the member experience, we do not currently offer this capability.
 
Do I have to use all of my Sam's Cash or can I choose how much I want to use?
You can specify how much Sam’s Cash you want to use towards your purchase. However, cash outs can only be performed for the entire Sam’s Cash balance. 
 
How do I use Sam's Cash with Scan and Go?
On the Scan & Go checkout page, if you have Sam's Cash available, it will show as an available tender type. You can use Sam's cash to pay for all or a portion of your purchases, and then pay the remaining balance using any other accepted payment method. The order confirmation email will show "Sam's Cash" as the tender type and amount redeemed. Sam’s Cash cannot be used for purchases from third parties or some prescription related products.
NOTE: Occasionally you will receive a prompt to verify your identity before proceeding with a purchase using Sam's Cash.
 
Where can I see Sam’s Cash from my Sam’s Club Mastercard?
Sam’s Cash earned from the Sam’s Club Mastercard (previously known as cashback) can be found in the Sam’s Cash dashboard or the Sam’s Club Mastercard dashboard. You can also continue to see your Sam’s Cash earned by accessing your Sam's Club Mastercard online account information. Depending on system updates and your activities, such as returns, the amounts displayed in the two systems may vary from time to time while the systems update. The amount available for you to spend is always shown as 'Available'.
 
What happens to the Sam’s Cash I earned from a Sam’s Club Mastercard purchase when I return that purchase?
When you return merchandise purchased with a Sam's Club Mastercard, the Sam's Cash you earn will be deducted from your Sam's Cash account. If the cash back has already been issued by Synchrony to your Sam's Cash account, then the deduction of the Sam's Cash will be within your credit card account at Synchrony, and it will not deduct from your Sam's Cash account until the following cycle. In these circumstances you may see a negative balance on either your Membership Dashboard or Synchrony account if the return takes place after the reward was issued as Sam's Cash or was spent. This will become positive again once you earn more Sam's Cash to clear the negative balance.
 
Can I return a SNAP eligible item purchased with Sam’s Cash and SNAP benefits?
Yes, members may return SNAP eligible items purchased with Sam’s Cash and SNAP benefits. The amount of the item originally purchased with SNAP benefits must be returned to your EBT card by the club, and Sam's Cash will be refunded to your balance by the club or via eGift Card.
 
Does my Membership need to be active to earn Sam's Cash?
Yes, only active members can earn Sam's Cash from Plus Membership, Bonus Offers, and other promotions.
You can still earn Sam's Cash with your Sam's Club Mastercard, even if your membership is not active.
 
If I cancel my Membership and still have a Sam's Mastercard what happens to my Sam's Cash?
You can still earn Sam's Cash with the Sam's Club Mastercard, even if your Sam's Club membership is not active. However, you must have an active Sam's Club Membership to redeem Sam's Cash. Once you renew your Sam's Club membership, you can use that Sam's Cash again. You can continue to earn Sam's Cash with your Sam's Club Mastercard on qualifying purchases.
 
How will Sam's Cash work for primary and complimentary members of a Business Membership?
Sam's Cash works the same for all members, whether you're a business or not.
For Plus Members, only qualifying purchases made by the Primary Member or Complimentary Household Cardholder, in a Sam's Club store in the United States qualify to earn Sam’s Cash. Sam's Club Add-On Members do not qualify to earn 2% Sam’s Cash for themselves or for their Primary Member.

Sam's Club Add-On Members do not qualify to earn 2% Sam’s Cash for themselves or for their Primary Member. Add-On Members to the Primary Membership account cannot access or redeem Sam’s Cash loaded on the Primary Membership account.
For Add-On Members, the Primary Add-On Member and any of their complimentary members can access and redeem Sam’s Cash loaded on the Add-On Membership account. The Primary Member or Primary Complimentary Household Cardholder cannot access or redeem Sam’s Cash loaded on the Add-On Membership account.
 
Can I redeem Sam's Cash from a deceased family member's account?
You must first have the name of the primary cardholder on the membership changed to your name. For details, please reference Primary Cardholder Membership Changes.
 
Will my Sam's Cash be reinstated if I renew my membership after it has expired?
Yes, Sam's Cash doesn't expire and will be available again once your membership is renewed.

How can I see the balance of Sam's Cash?
Check your Sam's Cash balance from several locations:
  • View from the account page on SamsClub.com or in the Sam's app
  • View from the Membership Dashboard page on SamsClub.com or in the app
  • View on the checkout page in the club, self-checkout, Scan & Go, or SamsClub.com
  • View your available balance using the homepage module
 
Will I have visibility to Sam's Cash earnings and how will they appear?
Yes, this information is shown under Your Account on SamsClub.com. The Membership Dashboard provides details on your Sam's Cash related to:
  • Any Sam's Cash activity (earned &/ redeemed) in your account
  • Plus Rewards (cash rewards)
  • Sam's Club Mastercard (cash back)
  • Promotions and Bonus Offers
  • Suggestions to earn additional Sam's Cash
 
Can I see the Sam's Cash broken down by type of reward? (Plus rewards= $, MasterCard=$$, BOP=$$)
Yes, navigate to Membership Dashboard to view your personal Sam's Cash summary. If you have both a Plus Membership and the Sam's Club Mastercard, you can see when the corresponding Sam's Cash is available.
 
I am confused about how I am earning Sam's Cash?
The Membership Dashboard makes it easy to view and track your Sam's Cash earnings using your SamsClub.com and Sam's app accounts. Find Sam's Cash details like:
  • Eligible purchases related to your Plus Membership
  • Eligible purchases made using your Sam's Club Mastercard
  • Accrual related to Promotions
  • Accrual related to Partner Offers
Additionally, the Dashboard informs you how to earn additional Sam's Cash and any activity (earned &/ redeemed) in your account.

RETURNS

What happens to the Sam’s Cash I earned on an item I returned?
When you purchase qualifying items, you earn Sam’s Cash. If any of those items are later returned, then the amount you earned for that item(s) will be deducted from your future Sam’s Cash earnings.
 
What happens if I purchase an item with Sam's Cash and then I return the item?
Returns are handled differently depending on where the Sam’s Cash purchase was made.
  • Online Sam’s Cash purchase - if Sam’s Cash redeemed for a purchase at Samsclub.com that was later cancelled or returned, Sam’s Club will process a credit back to the member’s Sam’s Cash balance
  • In-Club/Scan and Go™ purchase with Sam’s Cash - if Sam’s Cash was redeemed for a purchase in a Sam’s Club that was later returned, the Sam’s Cash will be provided to you as a gift card or cash
 
What happens with Sam's Cash used to make a purchase, if the item is returned or the order is canceled?
RETURNED ITEM/ORDER: Purchases made using Sam's Cash that are returned, refund the Sam's Cash amount used back to your account in 7 business days or less.
CANCELED ITEM/ORDER: Purchases made using Sam's Cash that are canceled, should refund back to your account within 24 hours.
 
What happens if I return something I purchased with my Sam's Club Mastercard where I earned Sam's Cash?
When you return merchandise purchased with a Sam's Club Mastercard, the Sam's Cash you earn will be deducted from your Sam's Cash account. If the cash back has already been issued by Synchrony to your Sam's Cash account, then the deduction of the Sam's Cash will be within your credit card account at Synchrony, and it will not deduct from your Sam's Cash account until the following cycle. In these circumstances you may see a negative balance on either your Membership Dashboard or Synchrony account if the return takes place after the reward was issued as Sam's Cash or was spent. MEMBERSHIP STATUS

Does my Membership need to be active to redeem Sam's Cash?
Yes. Sam's Cash does not expire but you must have an active membership to redeem Sam's Cash. If your Sam's Club membership has been terminated, cancelled, or revoked by Sam's Club, the remaining Sam's Cash balance shall be forfeited.
 
If I cancel or request a refund on my Sam's Club Membership, what happens to my Sam's Cash?
You must have an active Sam's Club Membership to redeem Sam's Cash. Any Sam's Cash noted as available in the Membership Dashboard will not expire. You can redeem Sam's Cash once you renew your membership. We recommend that you use your Sam's Cash prior to cancelling. If you are unsatisfied with your Membership, let us know and we will cancel your membership and provide a refund of the amount paid for your current year Membership fee. There is a limit of one Plus Membership refund per member or business per year.
 
If I cancel my Membership and still have a Sam's Mastercard what happens to my Sam's Cash?
You can still earn Sam's Cash with the Sam's Club Mastercard, even if your Sam's Club membership is not active. However, you must have an active Sam's Club Membership to redeem Sam's Cash. Once you renew your Sam's Club membership, you can use that Sam's Cash again. You can continue to earn Sam's Cash with your Sam's Club Mastercard on qualifying purchases.
 
How will Sam's Cash work for primary and complementary members of a Business Membership?
