Recent years have yielded remarkable strides in oncology, particularly with chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell and bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) therapies. While these two therapies were primarily approved for hematologic malignancies, their potential in treating solid tumors provides another option for patients. In the June issue of the AJMC - The American Journal of Managed Care’s Evidence-Based Oncology, our team of Evolent oncology experts explains why increased access and decreased time to administration will steer many patients toward BiTE and away from CAR T therapy, even though the latter will remain an option in a patient’s care plan. The peer-to-peer call, which seeks to ensure that drugs, procedures and other requested services are medically necessary, is standard practice for health plans’ prior authorization programs. What’s not standard is having them performed by health plan providers who are true peers of the requesting provider — oncologist to oncologist, cardiologist to cardiologist, and so on. Writing in STAT, Evolent’s Dr. Matthew Walker explains why that needs to change.

We are excited to share about our recent CSR initiative in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kharadi, Pune. The initiative, titled "Bas Itna Sa Khawab Hai", aimed at building aspiration and providing an enriching experience to impoverished and underprivileged students in Kharadi and Wagholi area. (https://lnkd.in/gwE5Pkaw) On May 30, 2024, we took approximately 160+ students from various schools to watch a movie (Kung Fu Panda 4) at Phoenix PVR, Viman Nagar. This was followed by snacks and social interaction. This initiative was designed to have an impactful outreach, provide educational enrichment, and create a long-term impact on the thought process of the children. We are proud to inform that Evolent had the opportunity to sponsor this initiative, contributing to the upliftment of these children's lives.
