MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the country will have scattered rain showers on Sunday due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and easterlies, according to the state weather bureau.

In a morning forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said ITCZ will mainly affect the southern parts of the country, while easterlies will be felt in other parts of Luzon.

“Patuloy pa rin umiiral ang ITCZ sa Southern Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao kung saan ngayong araw, magdudulot pa rin ito ng kalat kalat na pag-ulan sa kanlurang bahagi ng Southern Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao,” weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported.

(The ITCZ still exists in Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, where today, it will cause scattered rains in the western part of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.)

She added there is a high chance that easterlies will likewise bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon.

For the rest of the country, Castañeda said they are expecting isolated rain showers, especially from afternoon until evening.

Pagasa had not monitored any weather disturbance in and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
