Nudge Global Impact Challenge

Exciting journey, inspiring growth 🌍🌱 As the three-day Learning Experience in the Netherlands came to an end, we would like to highlight the courage, authenticity and joy of our 2023 Nudge participants. Exploring new ideas, opening up about hopes, dreams, fears and emotions, accepting constructive criticism with an open mind and heart; these are only a few examples of the steps they took on their #impact journey during these three days. We could not be prouder of you all and we look forward to supporting you on this journey in the next five months and beyond. This may feel like an end, but it is only the beginning! ✨ A big thank you to Sameera Chukkapalli Holmes, Yori Kamphuis, Rick Koster ♾, Jonathan Gosling, Pepijn Duijvestein, Arshia Foroughi, Ilse Lettinga, Sarah B., Jan van Betten and Maëlle Tschumi for making this possible.

How  are our alumni doing? Rex Ronter Ruiz, who participated in the Challenge in 2022, now works at Komastu and recently  started his role as a member of the Global Sustainability Promotions Group, where he actively curates global activities to promote sustainability within the company and outside. He also recently volunteered as a project manager at Alumar Seaweeds Farmers Organization to guide them in their activities on seaweed farming, mangrove planting, solid waste management, and climate education. And what about his Impact Project? Rex continues to work with small island communities across the Danajon Double Barrier Reef Bank in Bohol, Philippines, focusing on environmental and community protection. Rex's favourite memory of the Challenge is meeting the 13th edition cohort and learning their inspiring stories of creating impact in their communities and organisations. The program provided a safe, thriving space that empowered him to believe in his sustainability pursuits and to take courageous action. His advice for upcoming participants? Be in the moment and expand your network! The time with other participants is short, so make an effort to learn the wonderful stories of these beautiful people and be inspired. Off he goes! Do you remember Bob Kreiken? This week, our 2023 alumnus is setting off on an extraordinary two-month adventure, covering 3,500km across Europe! Bob will be cycling along the Rhine and kayaking down the Danube, travelling from the North Sea all the way to the Black Sea. His mission? To raise awareness and funds for sturgeon conservation by reenacting the incredible journey of sturgeon who swim up and down rivers to spawn. The Danube, known as Europe's Amazon, is a treasure trove of biodiversity and the world's most international watershed. Yet, this ancient river and its oldest residents, the sturgeons, are in peril, teetering on the brink of extinction. To raise awareness on the topic, Bob is cycling from the Netherlands, his home country, to the south of Germany, where the spring of the Danube is. He will then hop on a kayak and paddle down along the Danube, all the way to Romania! On his way, he will discuss and share knowledge on the topic with experts and local communities. 💡 His impactful journey started this week! GET A SNEAK PEEK INTO THE NUDGE GLOBAL IMPACT CHALLENGE! During the programme, participants dive into a range of #transformative sessions designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge to make a real difference. Here is a taste of what happened in 2023: 🔹 Collective Leadership: Years after years, the impressive Jonathan Gosling led workshops on the topic of Collective Leadership, how to lead with impact and foster collaboration. 🔹 Impact Measurement: In 2023, the brilliant Philipp Pattberg, Director Amsterdam Sustainability Institute and head of Department of Environmental Policy Analysis, Institute for Environmental Studies at the Vrije Universiteit hosted a session on the complex topic of impact measurement. 🔹 Design Thinking: Unleash creativity and solve complex problems with innovative strategies. 🔹 Pitching Skills: Nudge, together with leaderscope.nl, our leadership partner, hosted an online session to help our participants to sharpen their ability to present and promote your ideas effectively. 🔹 Forest Bathing: We also enjoyed some time outside with the inspiring Eefje Ludwig, who led a forest bathing workshop, connecting with nature to recharge and reflect.
