"This is an antique, bevel-matted engraving, from an old newspaper, FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPER, published in 1884. The prints in this series are printed on what is called rag paper, an antique paper that is stronger and far more enduring than the newspaper we know today. The print is matted in an off-white acid free matte and is backed by a black acid free back-board which is NOT ATTACHED TO THE PRINT, but which should be kept with the print when framed.
