This upcoming week is CHS's prom. Ralph Guenther was hired to take pictures of couples in the 1963 Chelsea High School Prom; take a look at how the hair and dress styles have changed in the past 50 years.

1950s was not an impressive period for fashion. It had not appeared miniskirts until the 1960s. However, with beautiful dresses, young girls in this era were so charming.

These snapshots show dresses that teenage girls often wore in the 1950s.

The 1950’s are often viewed as a golden era in U.S. history, a time of happiness and prosperity, despite the threat of nuclear annihilation, racial segregation and the looming Cold War.
