Snowy owl The snowy owl, also known as the polar owl, the white owl and the Arctic owl, is a large, white owl of the true owl family. Snowy owls are native to the Arctic regions of both North America and the Palearctic, breeding mostly on the tundra.

I am in Canada now conducting my snowy owl workshop. It is unusually warm here -- 30 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit -- and that makes it more comfortable to Jim Zuckerman photography & photo tours

James David Raj photographed a Snowy Owl in Ontario, Canada. Snowy Owls are also known as Polar Owls and are characterised by their white and brown barred appearance. Male owls tend to have lesser brown streaks when compared to females. Snowy Owls prefer Arctic tundras as habitats and are seen in open grasslands.
