How to make japanese lanterns

Painted paper lanterns. Take plain white paper lantern. Acrylic paints in several colors watered down about 50%. Start dabbing here and there to create a sort of Japanese cherry blossom look. Then add dark browns for the limbs last. Very simple and not much talent required but the end result is fab. Could paint just about anything on these lanterns from monograms, flowers, solar system, rainbows or whatever your heart desires! Purchased at Pier I on sale (20% off) for about $6.00
