As the fall arrives and summer winds down, I find myself thinking about images that relax me. I just finished this art quilt in early September. It transports me back to quiet afternoons at Long Beach Island in NJ with my family or visits to the Outer Banks in NC. Beaches are universal. After creating Read the full article...

These are very broad and simplistic ideas of the way I want the art quilt to flow and appear. Much of what I use the sketches for is to figure the proportions of the Read the full article...

When I'm done blogging I'm going to put on a CD, turn up the volume and mop the kitchen floor. While dancing. Sometimes cleaning the house feels so good! (And once in a great while I give in to the feeling...) Before I get to what I've been up to this week, I got some great news yesterday. My quilt "Gotta Dance!" was accepted for exhibition at the…

I was under the MIstaken (get it?) impression that it took me two years until I looked up my old posts this week and found out that I started it in MId-October 2015. It's as old as one of MI grandsons. I won't put all the links in here of posts along the way, but if you'd like to read them, click on the…

Gotta Dance! I finished my quilt and shipped it off to Colorado for photography yesterday. (Scary!) Lori from Quilter's Newsletter Magazine saw a pic of my quilt on facebook and wanted me to ship it to her for possibly putting it in their magazine. Soooo, within a day of finishing the faced binding, I was removing all the cat hair and fashioning a shipping tube. Then I filled out the entry form for the National Quilt Museum's New Quilts from Old Favorites contest and saw the date I'll get my…
