Plastic waste

I participated in the Everyday Plastic Survey in June 2020 and collected my plastic for a week. I found it useful to document the process throughout so I could identify where we could make changes as a household to reduce waste.

The European Parliament approved a ban on single-use plastics, meaning that common plastic items that make up 70 percent of marine litter will be banned in the EU by 2021. The law also sets targets for the collection of plastic bottles, includes new labeling laws and strengthens provisions to ensure companies pay to clean up their pollution.

This is just totally unfair to allow these turtles to eat trash thinking its yummy and delicious. @knowyabusiness our gear yells out This ISN'T what it is meaning we don't have to just sit back and allow this to happen. Like , Share and support the cause!

China has issued a policy to reduce single-use plastic products. According to Reuters, the country's state planner announced it would introduce restrictions on production, use and sale of single-use plastic products to help the environment.

Yes, also on tiny islands we have problems with trash and people littering. I have a feeling that the tourists that come here are more concerned with the nature than the locals themselves. I have been aware for a long time the issue with plastic pollution in our oceans but recently I've discovered just how much of an issue it is and how it is devastating for the creatures in our oceans as well. By being mindful about what we buy and do, we can prevent this issue from escalating further.
