There are a lot of different ways that you can centrr your clay, and everyone will teach something different.   I have a few tips to help you with that, and that is how I learned.   First make sure you are sitting comfortable and that your legs can be aligned with the wheel head.  You want to be able to brace your arms on your legs while throwing, that helps with stability.   Second, make sure you keep your clay splippery all the time. Dry clay will make it almost impossible for you to center it.   Third, easy in, easy out. No rush, dont move to quick pottery is a patience game.
