Tattoos are traditionally associated with bikers, mariners, and criminals throughout history, although they can now be regarded as fashion, cosmetics, and art. Tattoo acceptance is increasing in Western countries, even though it is still frowned upon in some groups. However, tattooed persons are still stereotyped as risk-takers, irresponsible, strong drinkers, and users of illicit drugs.
