The stair runner ends on the top riser, we then painted the very top step / floorboard in @farrowandball Railings to create an end to the stair colour. The floorboards were sanded and sealed with @osmo_uk in Polyx-oil raw matt finish. We have floorboards in the bedrooms so I think having it run through the landing too creates continuity.
