Box breathing can be a powerful tool for anxiety and regulating the breath- (Navy Seals have used it!) but some kids find it difficult to remember and access this strategy when they are upset, and so I made some sensory motor supports to help. You can use pipe cleaners or wire, and it can be attached to a necklace or backpack. Pre-Kindergarten and the beginning of Kindergarten are the perfect times to help correct a child’s grip, typically because they are still learning how. Please know that children are still developing their grasp until age 5 and older. A 3-year-old is not going to be developmentally ready for these types of grasps. Here are 5 little tricks we use to help our kids: 1. A tissue paper on the last two fingers 2. A pompom 3. A bandaid 🩹 4. An elastic band 5. 1.3K views · 11K reactions | POPSICLE BRIDGE 🌁🎉✨ This activity took 2 minutes to set up and kept my kiddos busy for wayyyyy longer than I expected. 🙌🎉 I just found a place to put 2 strips of painters tape sticky side up (like a bridge) and then gave my kids some Popsicle sticks! I told them to try and build a bridge strong enough to drive their toy cars on it! I was amazed by how well they worked together and figured it out! They liked this activity so much they asked to do it 3 separate times in one day! 😅🙌🎉 We will be repeating this one for sure! Want more easy activity ideas like this? I had my husband drill holes in stacks of 10 plates with a circle drill. 10” plates are mounted on 12x12” paper with hot glue. Frosting and donuts are tempera and almost all toppings were grabbed at @retakeremake my go to for all things art! Displaying these was a game of strategy to get a variety in three rows across 36’ x3’ bulletin board.
