We are proud to share that #MartinModern was named World Silver Winner in the Residential (High Rise) category at the recent 2024 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards. This latest award is #GuocoLand’s fifth accolade from FIABCI, The International Real Estate Federation, which recognises projects that exemplify architectural brilliance, sustainability, community engagement, and ethical business practices, and reinforces the real estate industry's commitment to a better future. Developed by GuocoLand and designed by ipli Architects and ADDP Architects LLP, Martin Modern is the first of GuocoLand’s “Modern” series of residences, which also includes #MidtownModern and #LentorModern. The luxury development is located in Singapore’s prime District 9, and showcases GuocoLand’s signature features such as a grand lawn, a distinct sense of arrival, and abundant spaces for recreation and entertainment – all surrounded by verdant greenery. Martin Modern has become an outstanding landmark in the Robertson Quay area, and we are confident that our upcoming projects at the Lentor Hills estate and Upper Thomson Road will also uplift and transform their neighbourhoods.

In partnership with Discover Tanjong Pagar (DTP), #iLightSingapore has brought its immersive outdoor art experience to Tanjong Pagar for the first time! This year's festival, its 10th edition, follows the theme Cyclical Nature and the colour green. Three of the 17 featured artworks can be found in Tanjong Pagar - BottleBlooms at #GuocoTower's Urban Park, Kickit Team Tennis at Discover Tanjong Pagar Community Green, and Hidden Garden at Tras Link Park. BottleBlooms by Singapore artist Yun is a display of solar-powered luminous plastic blossoms at Guoco Tower’s Urban Park. The artwork was crafted using over 1,500 upcycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles through a public collection drive by DTP, Cantonment Primary School and social enterprise City Sprouts. The artwork provokes a re-evaluation of things that are often thrown away mindlessly and is a reminder of the transformative potential inherent in our discarded materials. BottleBlooms urges its audience to think about the life cycle of materials and encourages a more thorough incorporation of plastics into the circular economy via PET recycling. Unlike traditional contracting, the #CollaborativeContracting model is one where all parties in the project set common goals and collaborate throughout the entire project period in order to deliver a desired outcome while sharing risks as an integrated team. As one of the first developers supporting collaborative contracting in the industry, #GuocoLand recently hosted our first partnering workshop at our very own #GuocoMidtown’s Network Hub! We brought together the various members of the #LentorMansion project team, including GuocoLand staff, consultants, the project’s main contractor and key sub-contractors. The workshop – one of the features of GuocoLand’s own customised collaborative contracting option modules – was a great way for the members to better understand the importance of collaborative contracting, and get to know one another through team bonding activities and discussions. Collaborative contracting helps set out clear objectives for project team members to work towards together and foster a collaborative environment for our stakeholders and partners. Through collaborative tools like partnering workshops, we hope to promote closer consultation among members in the project and encourage more constructive conversations. This effort towards collaborative contracting is part of our initiatives to drive transformation across our value chain. We look forward to partnering #BCA on future programmes that would bring about further transformation of the built environment. #BuildSG

The #GuocoLand family recently came together for a night of laughter, conversation and appreciation.   We celebrated the achievements of our talented colleagues over the past year as we had fun over good music, food and drinks – and even found out that some of our colleagues are amazing singers! Meet Chef Andrew Chong – the Chinese Executive Chef at Sofitel Singapore City Centre. Chef Andrew’s love affair with cooking started at the young age of seven when he watched his father cook for large celebrations back in his hometown of Sabah, Malaysia.   With over 20 years of experience, Chef Andrew continues to draw inspiration from his hometown, childhood memories and favourite dishes.
