At Captur we believe the team comes first...but a bit of healthy competition never hurts. 😉 Enter the Captur Olympics - over the next four weeks our team will be competing for a series of team and individual points in the lead up to the Olympic games in August. Think Olympics, meets gaming, meets Harry Potter houses. Yes we're nerds. 🤓 For context, we’re remote-first startup of < 30 people with team members spread across timezones and countries. The same format could work for a large company, playing within functional areas. We primarily communicate with Slack, Notion, GitHub, and Discord. Comment below if you'd like me to send you our **Google Sheet template** for the Olympics schedule and scoring. Here is a detailed breakdown of each event: 🏆 Opening Ceremony Split the team up into 4-6 squads, depending on the size of your company/team. Review the schedule of events. Introduce scoring for team and individual points. Assign a team captain and games master to each squad. Setup a comms channel via Slack/Teams. 🎮 Games Over three weeks, each squad will play each other at least once in a series of online games. Some of our personal favourites are Among Us FR, Skribbl, and Land.io. Games masters are responsible for setting up games. 👸 Individual Points Each week individual points will also be awarded. These will be specific to your own company, but consider aligning with your company values. For example, we are awarding points for most claps given and received with Clappy. 🥇Team Awards Additional team points awarded for Team Spirit, Team Work, and Team Players. These can be chosen by popular vote or data driven, based on engagement, spread of individual points won, etc.. 🏆 Closing Ceremony Prizes, prizes, prizes! Reveal the team winners, highlight individuals, and celebrate together as a team. Have fun!
