June was another whirlwind of activity and wins for the SomX team! Here is what we've been up to 🌪️ 🦤 Biotech Dodo, our newest avian-friendly newsletter finally launched, providing you with the freshest biotech news every week! If you haven’t subscribed already, you know what to do... 🚹 We hosted an event with Numan during London Tech Week and Men's Health Week, ‘Mapping the Men’s Health Horizon: Technologies, Treatments, and Trust’, to explore why health is still slipping down the agenda for men worldwide. 🦄 We headed over to Amsterdam for the very first HLTH Europe as media partner, and Dr. James Somauroo was joined on stage by Peter Rezkalla, Marguerite Vernes, Valerie Storms, PhD and Samira Mousa to talk about how social media can be a critical lever in healthcare. James and Jessica flew home with as many new connections and learnings as they did stuffed unicorns. ✨ We provided Amber Therapeutics with a slick new visual identity and website ahead of their massive $100m Series A raise - ICYMI: https://lnkd.in/dvmc5iwm 🔮 Never a team to shy away from an opportunity to talk about women's health, for our second media partnership of June we headed to FemTech Lab’s Decoding the Future of Women to get stuck into the latest in reproductive tech and fertility, female longevity, and psychedelic and alternative medicine and even giving birth in space. 🎙️ Both Healthtech Pigeon and The Healthtech Podcast were not short of amazing guests. A special thank you to David Tejs Jørring, Ian Coyne, Karina Vazirova, Kate Nikityuk, Benedikt von Thüngen, and Dimitry Tran for joining us in the studio! 🎧 On the topic of studios, SomX’s very own Adama Barrie, Hollie Ruda, and Daisy M. stepped in front of the mic and recorded their own episodes of the Healthtech Podcast, giving their take on some of their favourite throwback episodes. And with six months left of 2024, there is still plenty more in store!! Get in touch if you need help making a bang for H2 💥 #healthtech #biotech #healthcare #digitalhealth #marketing

Take it from us: your pitch deck is important, but it shouldn't be your main focus! 🗣️ While a compelling and well-designed pitch deck is critical to your fund-raising efforts, it alone won't guarantee your success or secure investment. Before diving into your pitch deck, prioritise crafting a compelling narrative and a fine-tuned communication strategy. The key is to develop a core narrative that tells your story and outlines your business strategy. With this foundation, creating an effective pitch deck becomes so much easier. 📝 But don’t just take our word for it! If your healthtech or biotech company is looking to raise, listen up – this one’s for you 👇 Almost half of the UK's 8,000+ healthtech startups are expected to seek funding in 2024, competing for a share of overall investment that, in 2023, fell to its lowest level in five years. Given this intense competition for capital, crafting a communications strategy that clearly articulates your mission and enhances the credibility of your founding team is crucial for successful fundraising. On Thursday 11th July, from 12noon -1pm, we’re running our second free virtual workshop. This time, you'll learn the essentials for your fundraising communications strategy. Belle Taylor, Huw Penson, and Hollie Ruda will guide you through how to: ➡️ Strengthen your founder and company story to cut through with investors. ➡️ Develop impactful messaging and value propositions, reinforced by standout metrics. ➡️ Build credibility, through content and PR, with a focus on metrics investors actually care about. This workshop is suitable for everyone wanting to learn the essentials of comms to support their fundraising efforts. If you attended Comms 101 in April, don’t worry, you can still come! This workshop will build upon the themes introduced, and focus on how to use those strategies in your investor comms. 🔗 Register now - limited spaces available ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eT3Ywhw8 #Healthtech #Biotech #HealthcareCommunications #DigitalHealth

With fewer medical touchpoints throughout their lives, men's health is taking a backseat. So, what’s the plan to change this? We worked with Numan on their recent event ‘Mapping the men’s health horizon: technologies, treatments and trust’, to answer this exact question. The event brought together a panel of men’s health experts to discuss the current crises surrounding men’s health – from a decline in fertility, to a rise in obesity – and come up with actionable solutions and insights to address these growing problems. Of course, we couldn’t leave without sharing some of the key insights and takeaways: 👉🏾We are nothing without empathy.  Many men shy away from sharing their health concerns out of fear of being judged or ridiculed. Creating a safe space that reduces shame and fosters connection is powerful and can have a major impact. 👉🏾Scepticism isn’t always a bad thing.  With the rise in weight-loss medication, some scepticism is to be expected. It is the responsibility of experts to provide access to clinically validated resources to ensure these medications are used correctly by those who need them. 👉🏾Education is key. Improving access to medical education can open conversations among men, dispel many misconceptions, and reduce anxiety. 👉🏾Break down barriers. With sperm count down 60% since the 1970s, it is more important than ever to break down barriers to men's reproductive healthcare, which is currently widely inaccessible. Men need better access to monitoring and caring for their reproductive health. A special shout out to the panellists: Numan CEO Sokratis Papafloratos, David Pawsey of the Man Up / Man Down podcast, Jack Fertility CEO Lily Elsner,  GP and sexual medicine specialist Benjamin Davis, journalist Sam Rider, and SomX’s own Jessica Somauroo, who hopped into the hosting chair! 🚀 #healthtech #healthcare #digitalhealth #menshealth #event
