We're excited to share the success of our recent Charity Teddy Bear Rescue event! 🧸 Our Sony Poland office came together, for the second consecutive year, in a heartwarming initiative to support children in need and bring smiles to their faces. We collected teddy bears in the office and donated them to Polski Czerwony Krzyż, Polish Red Cross, which will give our fluffy friends a new home and new little owners. This initiative promoted children's mental comfort and improvement in traumatic moments and created social awareness around the benefit of reusing toys and giving them a second life. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this heartwarming and meaningful campaign. What an honour! His Majesty The King joined the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Sony - UK Technology Centre in Pencoed. His Majesty opened Sony’s first site in Bridgend in 1974 and today we also celebrated the production of our 30,000th high-definition system camera, which His Majesty personally packaged. #SonyUKTech #SonyEurope

Sony Europe has introduced their Accessibility activities to the RNIB community, it’s the start of a series of Sony conversations that will be aired by RNIB Connect Radio. Dave Williams from the RNIB interviewed David R Williams from Sony who outlined the scope of Accessibility activities in Europe and said: ‘Sony works closely with the RNIB across a number of areas and projects and through these conversations, we want to further connect with persons who need accessibility support through technology. We want to ensure that Sony products and services can be accessed and enjoyed by as many people as possible. Only through close collaboration with the community can we develop solutions that are truly inclusive’. Sony plans to follow up with product-specific conversations in the coming months. A moment dedicated to raising awareness of the environmental impact of plastics and promoting more sustainable solutions. 🧴♻ At Sony, we are committed to contributing to environment safeguarding with our long-term Road to Zero program, striving to achieve a zero environmental footprint throughout the life cycle of our products and business activities. A few weeks ago, our DX Solutions & Technology team volunteered to clean up West Wittering Beach on England’s South Coast. 🏖 🗑   Under the warm sun, they collected a significant amount of litter, including abandoned tent pegs, sparking curiosity and appreciation from passersby!   It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved, as they contributed to environmental preservation and ended the day with a fun game of rounders.   Sony Europe provides all permanent employees with the opportunity to take three paid days off work each year for volunteering activities. 🌟 Last month, our Weybridge headquarters hosted a fantastic Benefit Fair event, and it was a huge success! 🌟 Our colleagues came together to explore their benefit options and several vendors assisted them in making informed choices.   A special highlight of the event was the on-site health assessment conducted by our partners. In recognition of Germany hosting UEFA EURO 2024 and as part of our commitment to creating awareness and an inclusive culture, Sony Germany welcomed Alexander Fangmann, captain of the German national blind soccer team and Sports Inclusion Manager at the Württemberg State Sports Association, who shared his remarkable journey and experiences as a blind footballer. Alexander's talk highlighted the challenges and triumphs he faced as a blind soccer player and he educated our employees on the unique rules and equipment, such as: ·      The team consists of 4 blind players and a sighted goalkeeper. ·      The ball contains small bells, allowing players to locate it by sound. ·      Players shout "voy" when approaching the ball, signaling their intent to other players. This event underscored the importance of other senses and how vital communication is for a successful game. Alexander's presentation provided profound insights into inclusive sports, emphasizing team spirit and perseverance.   Thank you, Alexander!
