Data.world, a company that helps businesses catalog and access their data, is one of the upcoming players in the space. Now, the company is celebrating a huge milestone - one million users. These come in the form of both businesses and community members.
Brett Hurt, CEO and co-founder of data.world, says in a press release, “This is a major milestone and represents a scale previously unheard of in the enterprise data catalog market."
Hurt goes on to note that "In the past 12 months, we’ve seen an explosion in unique use cases ranging from data discovery and reproducibility to agile data governance. The pandemic fueled our growth as businesses struggled to solve for people silos as well as data silos. Our community connects people from all backgrounds - whether they’re a Fortune 500 executive, a data analyst, or a student - who all see the critical value of data in solving the world’s biggest challenges.”
This uptick in users also comes from other press that the company has recently received. Data.world was named as a Strong Performer in a recent Forrester Wave report and named by Gartner as a Challenger in the 2020 Magic Quadrant for Metadata Management Solutions.
The company also partnered with the Associated Press and more to create the Coronavirus Data Resource Hub. This Hub contained important pandemic data that could be used by businesses and more to help make informed decisions about work closures, timeline projections, and general research.
