Story
I am told my union to the crowned prince will determine the fate of the kingdom, but it isn’t my betrothed who haunts my dreams. It’s the half-breed prince who stands at his side. He is darkness and sin, and when he whispers promises of wickedness in my ear, I crave a man who I can’t have. Every thought I have is treasonous. The way my hands ache to touch him deceitful. Even my dreams make me a traitor to the kingdom I am sworn to protect. But when the kingdom is attacked, I am forced to make choices I’m not prepared for.

I’ve been in a bit of a book slump when I came across this title and decided to give it a try. I’m glad it was fast-paced. It was what I needed to get back into reading this month.

Story
It's been centuries since the robots of Panga gained self-awareness and laid down their tools; centuries since they wandered, en masse, into the wilderness, never to be seen again; centuries since they faded into myth and urban legend. One day, the life of a tea monk is upended by the arrival of a robot, there to honor the old promise of checking in. The robot cannot go back until the question of "what do people need?" is answered. But the answer to that question depends on who you ask, and how.

I’m an avid sci-fi/fantasy reader. I’m loving the cozy sub genre and this one is one of the best. I’m looking forward to finishing this duology.

Story
Following the events in Network Effect, the Barish-Estranza corporation has sent rescue ships to a newly colonized planet in peril, as well as additional SecUnits. But if there's an ethical corporation out there, Murderbot has yet to find it, and if Barish-Estranza can't have the planet, they're sure as hell not leaving without something. If that something just happens to be an entire colony of humans, well, a free workforce is a decent runner-up prize. But there's something wrong with Murderbot; it isn't running within normal operational parameters.

I enjoyed the multifaceted look at what vampires can be. This book reaches beyond the obvious to stretch the understanding of this realm of fantasy. I loved the slow, winding curves that lull you into complacency to just switch back so fast you can barely catch your breath. Really well written story. I was very entertained. Brava.

Tale as old as time...
I nearly stopped listening about 40 percent of the way through. It was predictable and slow. I enjoyed the ending of the book though. The last 20 percent was really exciting. The narration is amazing. The story just okay. The average came out to four stars.
