Noemi Altman is a researcher with more than 15 years of experience conducting primary social policy research. As a Senior Research Associate at Consumer Reports, she drives qualitative and quantitative research for the Digital Finance team, an initiative launched in 2022 that brings a consumer perspective to bear on the fast-growing marketplace of digital financial products and services. She also is a member of CR’s National Survey team and contributes to the organization’s work conducting surveys of Americans’ experiences and opinions.
Prior to joining CR, Noemi served as a Data Manager at MDRC, a leading social policy research organization. In that role Noemi led the data work for large research projects using randomized controlled trials focusing on family and child well-being and disadvantaged populations. Earlier in her career, she served as Policy Associate for Research and Data Analysis at Citizens’ Committee for Children of New York. Noemi writes code in SAS and R and has extensive experience in data processing and analysis as well as all aspects of data management. She has worked with dozens of types of survey, observational, and administrative data.
Noemi holds a B.A. in Women’s Studies from Wesleyan University and a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in quantitative methods from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Administration at New York University.
