Here's how you can demonstrate your expertise in the airline industry during an interview.

Airline management is very complex. So if we try to give fixed formulas without having some data to analyze, we just predict our failure. We need to know the fleet size, aircraft operated, maintenance facilities, number of staf and ground operation. After collecting all these datas we start evaluating the destinations operated to calculate costs and the efficiency of the operations having in mind to who you are competing.

Trying to acquire experience with theory, it's like trying to satisfy your hunger by just reading the menu. Understanding is deeper than knowledge. Understanding comes when the mind is free of knowledge.

All points are good to understand about a person who has knowledge and experience in the aviation industry. But every one has their own expertise in their respective departments. We can judge their knowledge by giving scenario based questions. As an interviewer i will know how much they have the ability to tackle that situation.

Crisis handling is playing a very important role in the aviation industry. We can handle it by doing full scale exercises. ( For example: We can exercise like an emergency landing of flight 071). So in real situations we know how to tackle this problems quickly and easily. We can also focus on BCP ( Business Continuity plans ).

The Aviation industry is highly regulated by Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs) of respective countries. The CAAs issue Aircraft Operating Certificates (AOC) after the Operator satisfies the authority that the operation is safe and is in compliance with the regulations that govern its operations. Compliance is ascertained through initial or renewal audit processes. Regulations are continually reviewed and amended by the authority as necessary. It is paramount for every operator to keep abreast with the regulations that govern the difference aspects of its operations and ensure continuous compliance failure of which, the operator loose its AOC. Post holders like Quality, Safety, Responsible person aircraft are regulated.

The regulations are set by ICAO and enforced by Civil Aviation Authorities. And to follow this regulation by companies. ( Like GHA , Airlines ) They have to make their regulation defined by ICAO according to their business operations.( We called it SARPS standards and recommended practices )

I am working as a fault reporting center operator. As an operator i prioritize things on a three basis. Problems Impact on the customer. Safety or life Hazard to passengers. Operational Needs. For Intance: Passenger A is complaining about the AC being too cold or some wifi issue. Passenger B is complaining about their health conditions. ( Stomach Ache ) So we prioritise as per urgency and criticality and nature of the request. Passenger B urgent Assistant while passenger A normal request and assitance.
