If the organisation 's goals does not align with your career prospects what do you do especially if you want to change careers?. It is very easy to advice that then leave the organisation and pursue your dream. But I see here an opportunity to make a difference that could help improve productivity. Take for example an employee wants to start a career in law but the company does not need a lawyer. This is where the employee should have the courage to sell the idea of the importance of establishing a legal department to handle legal issues instead of outsourcing legal services. This suggestion will save the company cost. The fact is one should not just limit opportunities to the present situation but also look into the future.
