Well, portfolio is your "entry" ticket, but your work must speak for you. And even if you are top professional, if you don't have right behaviour, you won't get the job. Don't throw everything in your portfolio, don't throw in there some nonsense jobs. But remember - you are not there just to fulfill your dreams, you are part of bigger picture, so have right attitude and skills and job will be yours

Actually this is the most important part of any advice towards career. Sometimes it is really challenging but it takes time to understand what is essential in your job, and what is not. There is no I in Team - that really is true.

My career took of because my superpower at the time was to realize where problem lies ( I am in audio world). To be able to do that you must have deep knowledge of all components of your work, only then you will be able to locate problem quickly
