In my experience, rather than start the conversation with the solution and all the lovely controls and security that there are in the ERP, we should ask what their specific concerns are and what previous experiences they have had in this, or other organisations, with regards to data security issues. This way, we can ensure the stakeholder feels heard with their specific concerns and in return, we can highlight the specific controls that are in place to mitigate the defined risk they have shared. I would also provide a specific process where data security concerns / events can be reported and escalated appropriately as data security is everyone's responsibility.

The unknowing of the benefits of the security of ERP's is leading to disasters because it saves the companies data that can be an easy meal for ransomware attacks.

There should be a clear and transparent discussion about the concerns from the stakeholders. - Split the concerns into different categories and map them to different layers of tech stack - Setup relevant monitoring mechanisms to identify the risks at different layers - application, data storage and physical infrastructure - Understand the governance policies setup across the enterprise which can help identify the security requirements, security issues and remediations Accepting faults & risks and perform remediations is the key aspect of earning stakeholders‘ trust.

Acredito que para começar o plano de combate a incidentes além dos já citados no texto, deveria ter auditorias internas implementadas, com uma estratégia de comunicação bem esclarecedora afim de que fosse de conhecimento de todos, qdo o acontecimento de algum incidente.

Also be sure that passwords are changed after the first login and role based authorisation is properly defined in the ERP to prevent unauthorised system/data access. Where the ER is hosted on the cloud, ensure to view the security certifications of the hosting company and request for periodical penetrative tests to ensure that the environment is secured. With all this in place, Stakeholders will have comfort that their data is secured.

Consider obtaining relevant security certifications and compliance with industry standards to further reassure stakeholders about the ERP system's security measures. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by staying updated with the latest security trends and technologies. Encourage open communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on security enhancements and addressing any new concerns that may arise.
