The leading global education & advocacy campaign accelerating gender balance and diversity on corporate boards. #5050WOB

About us

50/50 Women on Boards™ is the leading nonprofit global education & advocacy campaign committed to advancing gender balance and diversity on corporate boards. In 2010 we launched 2020 Women on Boards, now 50/50 Women on Boards, to educate, advocate and collaborate with corporations and action groups committed to advancing women to corporate boards. Reaching and exceeding our initial goal of 20% women directors by 2020, our new campaign boldly calls for women to hold 50% of all corporate board seats and women of color to hold at least 20% of corporate board seats. Our proprietary 50/50 Women on Boards Gender Diversity Index™ transparently tracks women's progress on Russell 3000 Index company boards. Quarterly and annually, we analyze the data and disseminate insights to encourage meaningful change across all levels of leadership. If you are a woman aspiring to serve on a board or board-ready, we offer interactive workshops with experienced corporate directors to give you the tools to pursue a corporate board seat. We invite all to participate in our public awareness campaigns and tentpole events, including our Global Conversation on Board Diversity™. If you are a corporation searching for ways to elevate your DE&I efforts for your employees, clients, or key stakeholders, we encourage you to get involved by partnering with our campaign or hosting a corporate board program for women in your network. More than 80% of our revenue funds our research, educational programs, and public awareness campaigns. Get involved: www.5050wob.com Have questions? Email: info@5050wob.com

We're happy to share that 50/50 Women on Boards has recently been featured in Forbes! In her recent article, Liz Elting confirms that despite encouraging progress, we still have a long way to go for women in leadership roles. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eQKGUt6t Key takeaways from the article: - The Associated Press' annual compensation survey found that 25 women are among the highest-paid CEOs at S&P 500 companies, a record high. - Despite the progress, women still represent just over 7% of the 341 CEOs surveyed. - The median pay package for women CEOs rose by 21% to $17.6 million, outpacing the 12% increase for their male counterparts. - The share of board seats held by women in the Russell 3000 has stagnated at 29.7%, with new appointments for women sharply declining to 30.7% in 2024. - Companies with women CEOs have boards closer to gender parity, with 41.4% of board positions held by women. While it's encouraging to see progress, the article underscores that we still have a long way to go. The urgent need for solutions to address barriers to women’s advancement is clear, especially as the current rate suggests gender parity on boards won't be achieved until 2045. Thank you to Forbes and Liz for shedding light on this important issue. At 50/50 Women on Boards, we remain dedicated to accelerating this progress and ensuring that women have equal representation in leadership roles. Together, we can make a difference. #WomenOnBoards #GenderParity #Leadership #5050WomenOnBoards #ForbesFeature #WomenInBusiness #Equity
