Another successful year of giving! Walsh University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) puts a high emphasis on providing for those in need. This wonderful group of future physical therapists represents their program proudly by collecting new and gently used clothing from their community in order to donate to seniors in nursing facilities across Ohio. This year, the students collected 19 boxes of clothing that Absolute Rehabilitation can distribute to the facilities that we service therapy for. Thank you for your willingness to go above and beyond, Walsh University Doctorate of Physical Therapy. We are thankful that therapy programs such as Walsh's have a desire to help those who need it most. Swords Up!

Happy Friday! Please join us in congratulating MaryAnn McGill and the Universal Home Health therapy team for being a recipient of the 2023 Best Customer Service award at our holiday luncheon party! Recipients of this award are recognized for their diligence in ensuring that customers receive the guidance and answers they need in a timely and courteous manner. Universal Home Health successfully and strongly portrays the superior service that Absolute Rehabilitation stands for. Being with Universal for just over seven years, MaryAnn has served as the facility manager for a little over a year. Talking about her team, MaryAnn says, “I am so thankful for our team here at Universal Home Health. I believe our team works hard to communicate effectively with our patients and other clinical staff at Universal. I see our staff go out of their way to assist patients in obtaining needed DME or other services that would benefit them and assist in allowing patients to return home or even stay safely in their own homes. Many of our patients end up requesting Universal Home Health because of the dedicated therapy staff that has assisted in previous care of either themselves, or other family members in the past. I am thankful to work alongside such a dedicated staff and looking forward to continuing to serve our community well.” Well deserved, Universal! Welcome to Day 2 of Absolute Rehabilitation’s Kaizen Event for Fall Prevention! The word ‘Kaizen,’ a Japanese term, has the notable meaning of ‘continuous improvement’ and ‘change for better.’ Absolute Rehabilitation piloted their first Kaizen event in 2017, creating a comprehensive program for Person-Centered Dementia Care. On this final day of the event, the same diverse team of leaders, managers, therapists, and nurse aides are regrouping to dive deeper into their brainstorming yesterday to address quality improvement strategies, reimbursement initiatives, and interdisciplinary communication/processes. The focus of today is to join together and share/compare group notes and thoughts in order to implement collective, best patient-driven decisions. A special thank you to our Kaizen team for their hard work these last two days!!

This team is sharing experiences, knowledge, and expertise to create an innovate approach to Fall Prevention.
