A cannabis multistate operator challenging federal marijuana prohibition plans to take the case to the U.S. Supreme Court after it was dismissed by a lower federal court. This is the only venue that can overturn a 2005 Supreme Court decision upholding federal bans on the drug, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Mastroianni ruled on Monday. Darren Weiss, president of Verano Holdings Corp. and one of the plaintiffs, called the decision a “great result.” He posted on X (formerly Twitter), “We’re taking this all the way to the Supreme Court!” #cannabisnews #supremecourt #cannabisreform

The NCAA has officially removed marijuana from its banned substances list for Division I players, effective immediately. 🚫🌿 This change comes five months after the Division I Council proposed the rule, recognizing that cannabis isn't a performance-enhancing drug and should be treated like alcohol. This reform builds on a 2022 update that increased the allowable THC threshold for college athletes, aligning NCAA rules with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). 🏅🌍 #cannabisnews #NCAA #cannabis #collegeathletes

Policy changes in the U.S. have led to around 2.5 million expungements or pardons for cannabis convictions, according to NORML and the AP. However, NORML’s deputy director Paul Armentano points out that this is “a drop in the bucket” compared to the 30 million+ marijuana arrests over the past 50 years. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore recently issued pardons for cannabis possession and paraphernalia, affecting at least 175,000 convictions. Other states like Massachusetts, Nevada, and Oregon have also issued major pardons in recent years. #cannabisnews #cannabisreform #socialjustice

Step into the Union Square outpost of Travel Agency, and you might not immediately realize you’re in a cannabis store—until you see the six-foot-tall sculpture of an immaculately rolled joint in the foyer. Designed by the architecture firm Leong Leong, this space rivals New York City's chic retail spots like Khaites, Kiths, and Aesops, proving that great retail is about more than just transactions. With an egg-shaped Space Age sign, contoured ceiling, soft lighting, and a long white counter, it feels like a blend of Saarinen’s TWA terminal and a James Turrell sculpture. 🌟 #cannabisdesign #NYCcannabis #cannabis #art
