🚀 We are thrilled to announce our continued partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory to support Constellation, a digital object identifier (DOI) based science network for supercomputing data, with the signing of the Constellation Phase 2 contract! 🚀 In this next phase, we are expanding our scope of effort to initiate user experience enhancement, alongside the continued transformation of Constellation in DKAN, a top-tier globally-utilized data cataloging and publishing platform. DKAN relies on open-source software as an open data solution. As a core maintainer of DKAN, we're honored to lead this initiative. As a Drupal module, DKAN offers maximum flexibility as a framework for data management and provides tools to help organizations track data provenance, which provides crucial insights into the lineage and quality of data, helping to establish trust and reliability in data-driven decisions. This collaboration with Oak Ridge National Lab, a leader in scientific discovery and innovation, marks a significant milestone in promoting transparency and collaboration. #OpenData #OpenSource #DKAN #OakRidgeNationalLab #UX

"Considering the nature of this project, the development team of the OpenACR Editor tool have worked hard to make the tool itself as accessible as possible," - Andrew Nielson, director of GSA’s Government-wide IT Accessibility Program. Check out this recent article “Evaluating your agency’s accessibility just got a whole lot easier with GSA’s OpenACR Editor”: https://lnkd.in/ewQsR6_u We at CivicActions are proud to have developed OpenACR, under the leadership of Mike Gifford, CPWA. Recently, GSA has launched the OpenACR Editor, a powerful new tool designed to guide you through creating and completing Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs). This tool is part of GSA’s initiative to modernize and standardize conformance reports, making them more effective in evaluating the accessibility of digital products and services. ACRs measure how well a digital product or service meets the accessibility standards required by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. The goal is to ensure people with disabilities can access government websites and services. #Accessibility #a11y #OpenACR #Section508 #GovTech #GovCon

🌟 We are Celebrating Disability Pride Month at CivicActions! 🌟 This July, we come together at CivicActions to celebrate Disability Pride Month—a time to honor and recognize the diversity, achievements, and contributions of individuals with disabilities. July marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), passed July 26, 1990, which prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. Accessibility is at the heart of our work. By creating open source solutions with accessibility front of mind, we ensure that our digital solutions reach and engage all users, regardless of permanent, situational, or temporary disabilities. This Disability Pride Month, let’s fight ableism and work together to continue to build a more inclusive digital landscape, one that is accessible to all. Below is the Disability Pride Flag, designed to show that disability spans across borders. It is set against a black background, mourning the victims of ableist violence. The bands of color in the foreground represent cutting across barriers that have separated disabled people from society. Each stripe of color represents different forms of diability: red (physical), gold (neurodivergence), white (invisible & undiagnosed), blue (psychiatric) and green (sensory). #DisabilityPrideMonth #a11y #Accessibility

Sharing this article from MedPage Today about a site we worked on with our clients at Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for anonymous reporting of Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) violations. From the article: “In May 2024, CMS announced a new webpage to allow anyone to anonymously report potential EMTALA violations with only a few bits of information. The goal is to increase reporting by making it easier to file complaints. Reporters of potential violations are commonly clinicians or patients. Yet anyone can report, even a family member.” We are proud to be partnering with CMS to make healthcare safer and better serve the people. Read the article: https://lnkd.in/geht-Q_Q #FedHealth
