Weigh-in on the City Charter review Tuesday, July 2 at 5pm to let City Council know they need to be accountable to the people and give Tacoma voters a chance to decide how they are governed! Under the existing City Charter, Tacoma currently has ONE branch of government with a corporate-modeled form of governance called City-Manager. By design, the current model ensures that the city’s responsiveness to its residents becomes less about what they need and more about risk mitigation, job security, and the control of information. It is time for tide pooling! Head to the beach at low tide on any of these days for a peek at the incredible life just beneath the surface of the Salish Sea in the intertidal zone. Tides of -2.0 feet and lower are ideal for seeing sea stars, moon snails, colorful sea slugs and nudibranchs, and maybe even a Giant Pacific Octopus! Visit https://bit.ly/3QVAtXl for tips on exploring tide pools safely and responsibly.
